For centuries wars are being fought with contemporary weapons and in some instances with future or prototype ones. However some old weapons, older than their current users, are being utilized. The Ukraine war has shown that some very old designs can still be used. Machine guns from a century ago, bolt action rifles older than that, submachine guns designed for WW2, anti-tank rifles as relics of the same conflict are being used, in big numbers or some rare occasions. Each of these weapons tell us a story and serve as a testament of durability and the overall change and shift in the military doctrine as well as the consequences of the current situation. Not only that but those weapons, very crude and old, are serving on par with the latest designs, making the situation even more peculiar. Most of those weapons have survived the harsh conditions of the biggest conflict in human history, years of storage and later wars beyond that. Some were served for decades as museum exhibits only to be called once again to fight in today's wars. 1950 was 4 years after WW2.
The PPSH is like the Russian Thompson
soldiers today are more stronger than the ww2 ones thats why they can carry the PTRs AND PTRD hip fire
Im pretty sure in Russia you're allowed to use family heirlooms in war, like guns, knives etc.
"Im going to war dad"
"Take your grandfaters mosin, it killed many people and wont fail you"
"Thanks dad, bye for now"
If it's not broken, why fix it?
I'd also rather have an AK than an AR in the part of the world.
Gas blowback doesn't freeze up in cold temps like spring operated systems do.
Everybody gangsta until Ivan shoulderfires the ptrd while walking
With the hundreds of billions of dollars we sent Ukraine they should be rolling around with gold AKs and Lamborghini's and Bugattis
The Korean war and Vietnam we're the only wars I never understood why were we even involved kind of like a Iraq
War never ends? No, war... war never changes
Any gun is better than no gun.
The russian army is the killers of children and the civilian
Marines in Iraq loved to trade their M-16's for the PPSH
other rifle : i have see anything
mosin nagant : no.
The Mosin Nagant will probably continue to be used for five more centuries; even after railguns supplant every other conventional firearm.
Россия страна терорист ! 💩🇷🇺💩
the reason these guns work in the ukraine war is because guns may evolve in 80 years but humans don't
Actually the maxim is older than the mossin nagant
Thats not true Ukrane have AK - 74 and made sniper rifle like Snipex T-Rex and many weapon from 70-80 years ! Dont be ridiculous.
