A civil rights battle with transgender kids caught in the middle. Subscribe and turn on notifications 🔔 so you don't miss any videos: 🤍goo.gl/0bsAjO In recent years, state legislatures in the US have introduced hundreds of bills targeting the rights of LGBTQ Americans. Many of those laws are focused in particular on the rights of transgender school children in public schools: what types of bathrooms they can use, whether their pronouns will be used, and whether they can participate in school sports. These laws are increasingly common in Republican-controlled states. Also, they may be violations of federal law. This puts public schools in these states in a strange position: do they follow state laws that, under the Biden administration, could open them up to a federal civil rights investigation? Or do they ignore state law, and risk the state cutting their funding? Amid all that uncertainty, those who suffer most are the trans children caught up in the fight. This video focuses on how that battle is playing out in Tennessee, the state that has introduced more anti-LGBTQ laws in 2022 than almost any other state. We looked at two of the laws that target transgender public school kids: one about bathrooms and one about participation in school sports. Those two issues have very different legal contexts, which you can read more about in the links below. They need to learn to fit in if they can't survive in school how will they live after that.
I support trans
I'm joining the civil rights battle on the side of the transphobia!
Schools should be at the centre of every step of our advance, from social progress to economic one. We need to invest in a good education that gives you the opportunity not only to show your ability to memorize numbers, rules and names, but also your creativity and your logic thought.
This reminds of a time when a school banned pronouns
Is that so? Well there's only one real solution, close all schools.
(I'll miss eating the children tho)
"Why US schools are at the center of trans rights"
'Tell me you are groomers without telling me you are groomers'
I mean, it should be allowed to a point where it isn't just ridiculous.
The 5.3 thousand transphobes who disliked this disgust me.
Honestly, my school is amazing. It encourages lgbtq and they always say if you get bullied about it, talk about it. I take it for granted, but it’s absolutely amazing
signing anti LGBTQ bills into law? GOOD, GET MORE
There is no such thing as „Trans students”. Only males and females and a lot of misinformation targeted at children.
This is horrible. This shouldn’t be happening in the modern world. We have trans rights pretty much nationwide here in Canada but I feel so bad for those in the us.
Is this a question it's the start of the grooming and indoctrination cult not hard
unlike what others would say
i say this isnt a good thing
Trans people seem to forget EVERY child has self confidence issues
Schools are messed upp. They're now just a tool used by the Radicalists to indoctrinate children to create new Democrat voters.
To be honest the main reason the laws are accepted by the public in conservative states is because the LGBTQ community shoves their message in the public face
