Pattern recognition works well when the present resembles the pass. It stops working in novel situations. The Einstellung effect tells us that learning can make us rely so much on previously recognized patterns that we keep using old recipes to deal with new situations.

You forgot a very important one. You cannot let your politics affect your expertise.

I subscribed brilliant after watching this ad. It's cheaper than any advanced technical book on any subject, but on the other hand it is so superficial in its content that you will definitely not become an expert on anything through Brilliant. At best you may become acquainted with the basic principles a vast collection of different technical subjects, which might be useful. The hints to solutions never show thorough mathematical proof, which is frustrating and brings doubt to the validity of the lessons.

Amazing & Wonderful & Humbling at the same time to acknowledge that , indeed we are blessed with Residues of the Karmic Energies stored in our Consciousness from our Billions of different Lifeforms of Reincarnations! This is Not Random! It's part of the Universal Laws of Cause & Effects >>> It's Science , Arts , Divinity & Romance of Energies we yet to fathom! 🕯

Timely feedback: this is why employers do not tell you why you were not hired.

Hi Expert Softare Engineers,
What is your experience applying these principles as an expert software engineer? What kind of help did you receive from your mentors? How did those who did it alone?

The story with predictions is wrong. Journalists are not political scientists and political scientists would never ever make predictions, they are not that stupid.

LMFAO I just got owned by my own mother and she doesn't even know it.

Yesterday I was arguing with my mother about people being special. She was taking a college course where she had to watch a video where the person in it said everyone is special. My mother disagress... she said NOONE is special. I also disagree I think SOME people are special and most are not.

My mother said NO.... So i literally used Magnus Carlsen as an example of a special person. And this video literally just went. NOPE... not special. I just got owned.

There is a pathway to “expertise” and it takes diligent effort and practice to get there!!!! No shortcuts !!

"expertise is recognition, and recognition comes from the incredible amount of highly-structured information stored in long term memory. to build that memory requires four things: a valid environment, many repetitions, timely feedback, and thousands of hours of deliberate practice."
