By request, This is my DIY Rosin press. Easy to make for little money. Made with a small bench vice, hair straightener & some auto body fiberglass that I had kicking around that I used to stick things together. But you could use many things to stick it together. If you make one of these it is VERY IMPORTANT : DO NOT ATTACH the heating plates directly to the metal vice. there is electricity gong through them. You MUST HAVE a barrier between the heat plates & the vice to prevent electrifying the vice & getting a shock when you touch it. I used 2 pieces of wood as a barrier & kept the original plastic case on the controller part so that NO PARTS of the hair straightener, wires, heat pads or controller are touching the metal bench vice directly. Because I used wooden barriers the ONLY danger with using my press is accidentally touching the hot plates. You MUST USE common sense & be safe when using anything that has electricity going through it. My press is safe to use, you can see me use it in my other video. If you build & use one of these, you do so at your own risk. Be smart & Be safe everyone & Please hit the like & subscribe button.
Can I ask what temp the rosin is reaching
Great job on the build, it looks intriguing…. I was dissapointed that I didn’t get to see you using it though.
haha you're awesome man
Number 8 wired brain on this guy. This is excellent.
The most Canadian thing I have ever seen and I love it. Thanks man im from sustralia and ill be doing this most deff
Hey Sir just loved the video, I'm trying to get into some rosin tech (hair straightener and all that crap), and this was a breath of fresh air, hope you're not got caught yet! love from Dublin on what was St Patrick's day. King of green
How tight can you crank it? Would it be easy to break do you think?
i wonder if you could mount the vice on the wall and get a more traditional press
To me it seems easier to just buy a cheap one from Amazon. They have $50 options and higher. The $50 option seems way better than this. Why is this better? Because the vice gives the most pressure?
Man oh man! I have man vices lol, and a good will right down the road. I may make one then go press some, see what happens :). The real amazing thing here is you could stack the hot plates up, and really make a big one if needed. TY for the idea.
thanks for video, buddy ...appreciate it 🙂
This is how I cook bacon.
CAN YOU MAKE AND SELL ME ONE''LOL
Doesn't the strainers pads get damaged with the pressure? they were never designed to handle that much pressure. Can you link the video of it in action?
Wow, pretty cool!
Thanks for video :)
I made one myself today it works great.
Cost me two dollars & 50 cents for straightener from Thrift store.
Everything else I had at home!
fucking..... genius. I can do a steel version of this. no problem. I didn't want to do the whole bottle jack thing but this seems like it provides so much more control. Now the only difference for me is that I'd make a 4 spoke fixed handle and use a pipe with it for leverage. I'd also just do partial of the greengene setup, weld brackets to the vice, and bolt the heat plates to the vice. this should be amazing. thank you
Sou do Brasil e até agora não tinha visto tamanha engenhosidade humana agora eu consigo fazer minha própria prensa de rosin

I built something like this before i watched this video. I used 2 component epoxy to stick the plates to the vice but whenever it heats up it becomes loose again :( So i'll have to find another heat resistant material to do this.
