Don‘t know if someone mentioned this before, but could be a good hack. If deutsche Bahn messes up your connection you can actually ask the conductor to radio your next train and ask them to wait. Not kidding, they will even go around asking if they suspect a lot of people will miss a connection so they would rather have the train in question wait. But you can also take initiative if maybe yours is more of an uncommon connection. Especially if it‘s just about a few minutes or if it‘s late at night and no more trains are coming, there is a good chance the other train will wait for you. No guarantee though 😊

as a german, the longest delay with no other trains to the same place I've ever had was 4 hours. and once every single train was cancelled for the entire day from like 10am

ngl I feel it's a bit weird that once you buy the ticket the points are spent regardless of the status of the transit. If the train is cancelled wouldn't you get the ticket refunded? So couldn't you just refund the points if the train is cancelled? lol
