Shui Zhu Yu (水煮鱼) is one of our favourite Sichuan food. It is spicy, numbing, and savoury, a perfect dish for rainy days. Here's our recipe for how to make Shui Zhu Yu at home. "Shui Zhu" literally translates to water boiling, which comes from the fact that the dish is finished by pouring boiling hot oil over a pile of garlic, chilies, and spices. Shui Zhu actually refers to a family of dishes that share the characteristics of numbing, spicy, umami, and served piping hot. These dishes are a perfect match with bowls of steamed rice. Masala Fish Curry Recipe | Fish Curry Recipe | Fish Curry | Masala Fish Recipe | Rohu Fish Curry | Fish Recipe | Fish Curry by Spice Eats Ingredients for Masala Fish Curry: - Fish (Rohu, Katla, Asian Carp) - 500 gms For marination: - Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp - Red Chilli Powder- 1 tsp - Salt- 3/4 tsp For Masala Paste: - Cumin seeds- 1 tsp - Dried Red Chillies- 2 - Garlic- 10 cloves - Green Chillies- 2-3 (cut into 2) - Red Chilli Powder- 1.5 tsp - Coriander Powder- 1.5 tsp - Turmeric Powder- 1/4 tsp Other Ingredients: - Onion, grated- 2 medium (around 130 gms) - Kasuri Methi (dried Fenugreek leaves)- 1 tsp - Curry leaves- 15-20 - Tamarind, soaked in water- 4 tbsp juice - Thick coconut milk- 4 tbsp - Salt to taste- 1/2 tsp - Coriander leaves for garnishing- 2 tbsp - Oil - 3 tbsp + oil for pan frying the fish pieces Preparation: - Clean, wash and pat dry the fish pieces. Add the turmeric, red chilli powder, salt and mix well. Set aside for 30 mins. - To prepare the Masala paste, take a pan and dry roast the red chillies and cumin seeds on low heat for 1 minute. Now add the garlic cloves and continue roasting on low heat for another 2 mins. Set aside to cool. Add them to blender/grinder along with the green chillies. Coarse grind. - Now add 3-4 tbsp of water and blend it into a smooth paste. The masala paste should have thin consistency so you can add more water to make into a thin consistency. - To pan fry the marinated fish, add oil to a frying pan and place the fish pieces side by side. - Fry on medium heat for 2 mins and turn it on the other side. Continue to fry on medium heat for 2 mins. Take these out on a plate. Process: - Heat oil in a flat pan or kadai. - Add the grated onions and fry on medium heat for 7-8 mins till light brown in colour. - Now add the masala paste and give a mix, add 1/2 tsp salt to it and continue to fry on medium heat for 3 mins till water dries up and oil separates. - Add the dried fenugreek leaves (Kasuri Methi) and fry 1 min on medium heat. Add the curry leaves and fry on low to medium heat for 2 mins. - Now add the tamarind juice, give a mix and then add 250 ml water. Cook it on medium heat till it comes to a boil. - Lower the heat and place the fried fish pieces side by side and cover & cook on low heat for 5 mins. - Remove lid and flip the fish pieces. Take the fish fillet and place cuts with a knife on side of the fillets. 2. In a bowl, add water, salt, Shan ginger garlic paste, and fish. Soak for 15 minutes to eliminate the smell of fish. 3. Now, take the fish fillets out of the water and pat dry them with kitchen paper. Keep aside for 1 hr so that excessive water dries out. 4. In a large bowl add flour, chili flakes, salt, white pepper, turmeric, paprika, ginger garlic paste, green chili paste, crushed coriander, lemon juice, egg, tamarind pulp, and orange food color. Whisk together until well combined. The marinade must be thick, not runny. 5. Coat the fish fillets in the marinade and let them marinate for 30mins-2hr. 6. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and deep fry your marinated fish fillets until cooked through and crispy from the outside. Your spicy fried fish is ready. Directions for tamarind sauce: 1. In a blender, add apricot, tamarind pulp, sugar, salt, red chili flakes, green chilies, onion, mint leaves, coriander, and water. 2. Blend until the smooth and runny texture has been obtained. 3. Your tamarind sauce is ready, serve it with Spicy Fried Fish and enjoy. Preparation Time: 15 mins Cooking Time: 20 mins Servings: 4

Chilli Fish | Chilli Fish Recipe | Restaurant Style Chilli Fish Recipe | Chilli Fish Chinese Style | Chilli Fish Recipe Indo Chinese Style | How to make Chilli Fish | Chilli Fish Dry Recipe Ingredients for Chilli Fish: Boneless fish cubes- 300 gms Marinate with: - Salt- 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp - Lemon juice- 1 tsp - Ginger garlic paste (watery)- 1/2 tsp Batter/mix to be added to marinated fish cubes: - All purpose flour/maida- 1 tbsp - Cornflour- 2 tbsp - Pepper powder- 1/4 tsp - Egg white- 1 - Salt- a pinch - Garlic, chopped- 5-6 cloves (2 tsp) - Green chillies, thinly sliced- 2 - Spring onion chopped- 2 tbsp - Onion petals- 1 small white onion - Green pepper/capsicum cubed - 1 cup Sauce mix: - Red Chilli Sauce- 2 tbsp - Tomato sauce- 1 tbsp - Soy sauce- 2 tsp - Vinegar- 1 tsp - Cornflour slurry- 1 tbsp cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp water - Oil- for deep frying and 1 tbsp for sautéing Preparation: - Wash and cut the boneless fish into cubes, pat dry. - Marinate the fish cubes with the items mentioned. Mix well and set aside for 15 mins. - Add the items for the batter to the marinated fish cubes and mix well. - Heat oil in a pan/wok for deep frying (180 C) - Fry the fish cubes in hot oil till golden. This should take around 3 mins(heat can be reduced to 160 C) - Don’t overcrowd the pan & fry in 2 batches. - Chop the garlic, spring onion whites and greens. - Slice the green chillies, cube the green pepper and take out petals from 1 small white onion. - Prepare the sauce mix. Process: - Take a wok/kadai and heat 1 tbsp of oil. - Add the chopped garlic and spring onion whites. Give a stir. - Now add the sliced green chillies, mix & sauté for 15 secs. - Add the green pepper & then the onion petals. Sauté on high heat for 30 secs. - Add the fried fish cubes, mix and keep sautéing on high heat for another 1 min. - Now pour in the sauce mix and mix it well to coat the fried fish pieces. - Add the cornflour slurry & mix it well till it dries up and coats the fish pieces. - Add some chopped spring onion greens, mix and serve hot. #chillifish #chillifishrecipe #chillifishdry #indochinesechillifish #spiceeats #spiceeatsrecipes
I love spicy food, growing up in Sichuan we use Sichuan peppercorn, dried chilis in fish, you need the right ingredients to get the authentic flavor. You can use any veggie you like under the fish, such as celery, bean sprouts, if you can not find celtuce in the store. Celtuce is called "Wo Sun" in Chinese , Very hard to find them here in Minnesota, when I just came here from China, It's a very popular vegetable in Sichuan, now I can find them in local Asian market, I use them to make pickles, stir-fry, stew, salad... Marinate fish: (15-30 minutes ) 1/2 tbsp corn starch 1 egg white 1/2 tsp salt 3 tbsp cooking oil 4-5 slice of ginger 3 -4 clove of garlic(sliced) 2 tbsp Douban (Sichuan broad bean chili paste ) 2 cups hot water (or chicken stock) 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp Chinese vinegar 1 tsp sugar Heat 2 tbsp cooking oil then put 2 tsp Sichuan peppercorn and about a dozen dried chili peppers(best to use Sichuan whole chili peppers), roast them until fragrant. Prepare Spicy Finger Fish: -Bowl mein maida,lal mirch powder,zeera powder,sabut dhania,lal mirch crushed,kali mirch powder,ajwain powder,haldi powder,zarda ka rang,namak aur tatri dal ker ache tarhan mix ker lein. -Dahi,sarson ka tel,adrak lehsan paste aur thora thora ker ka pani shamil karein aur ache tarhan whisk ker ka batter tayyar ker lein. -Fish dal ker ache tarhan mix karein aur dhak ker 2 hours kliya refrigerator mein marinate ker lein. -Karahi mein cooking oil garam karein aur darmiyani ancch per golden brown ho janay tak fry ker lein. -Chaat masala aur hara dhania dal dein aur hara masala imli chutney ka saath serve karein!

Grilled Fish | Spicy Grilled Fish | Pan Grilled Fish | Grill Fish Recipe | Grill Fish in pan | Grilled Fish without Oven | Pan Grilled Fish Fillet | Fish Grill Ingredients for Grilled Fish: - Fish fillets - 4 (total of 300-350 gms.) 1st marinade: - Salt- 1/2 tsp - Crushed peppercorns- 1/2 tsp - Juice of 1/2 small lemon 2nd marinade: - Red Chilli flakes-1 tsp - Dark soy sauce- 1 tsp - Red Chilli Sauce- 2 tbsp - Garlic, finely chopped- 1 tbsp - Refined oil- 2 tbsp Preparation: - Marinate the fish fillets with the 1st marinade. Mix well and set aside for around 10 mins. - Fine chop the garlic and prepare the sauce mix for the 2nd marinade. - Spread the 2nd marinade evenly on both sides of the fish fillets. - Set aside for 30 mins. - Process: - Preheat the grill pan and brush the grill pan with 1 tsp oil. - Place the fish fillets side by side and grill on medium heat for 2 mins. - Turn over the fish fillets and put rest of marinade on top. For Frying In a pan heat mustard oil and fry the marinated fish on medium high heat from both sides until golden brown. Remove and keep aside. Then add the potato wedges and also fry them until golden brown in the same oil. Remove them and keep aside for further use. For Fish Curry In the same pan with the remaining oil add bay leaf, onion seeds, ginger julienne, green chillies and saute for a few seconds. Now add onion paste and continue cooking on medium heat until it turns light brown and oil starts separating. Then add fried potato, degi red chilli powder, water, salt and cook until the potatoes are completely cooked. Add cubed tomatoes, fried fish and stir it properly with light hands. Singaporean cuisine is multi-faceted because of cultural influences. While a majority of Singaporeans are Chinese, we also have Malay, Indian and Eurasian ethnic groups. We've been taught since young to embrace racial diversity and maintain social harmony. This is not only evident in our language - Singlish, which is a variety of English spoken in Singapore, incorporating elements of Chinese and Malay, but also the food that we eat. Spicy food is rather common in Singapore so when Sichuan cuisine is brought over to our shore, they immediately became a hit. Sichuan (Szechuan or sometimes spelt as Schezwan) food has a unique bold and lip-numbing spiciness in most of their dishes because of the liberal use of garlic, Sichuan peppercorns and other spices. Tilapia Grilled Fish Recipe | Spicy Kanthari Fish Recipe | Grilled Fish Recipes In today's video, we will see the recipe of spicy tilapia grilled fish recipe. The main ingredient in this recipe is the kanthari chilli or birds eye chilli. This kanthari grilled fish recipe is very easy and is an excellent grilled fish recipe. Watch the complete recipe here 🤍 Ingredients Tilapia Fish Fillet - 3 Oil - 2 tsp + 2 tsp Garlic Cloves - 15 Kanthari Chillies - 20 to 25 Fresh Curry Leaves - a handful Ground Black Pepper - 1 tsp Salt - 1 tsp Lemon Juice - 1 tsp Preparation To prepare the marinade, heat oil in a pan. Saute Garlic, Kanthari Chillies and Curry Leaves for a minute. Grind this to a coarse paste. To this, add crushed black pepper, salt, lemon juice and mix well. Make long slits into the fish fillets and marinate it with the prepared paste. Set aside for 15 minutes. Heat a grill pan, add oil and place the marinated fish fillets. Set the flame on medium and cook for 2 minutes on each sides. You can place a banana leaf on top of the fish to get that extra flavour and cover with a lid. Once done, remove from the grill pan and serve along with some sliced onions and lemon wedges. Smear some black pepper on top and squeeze the lemon before serving. Hello guys, this fish stew is what you should be making next. Soooo yummy and packed with so much flavor, you will loveeee it! Ingredients: - 1 Tilapia fish - 2 medium tomatoes -1 tbsp tomato paste - 1 medium onions - 4 green chillies(optional) - 2 garlic cloves - ginger - 1 tsp coriander powder - 1 tsp garam masala - 1/2tsp cumin powder - 1/4tsp turmeric powder - 1tsp salt - 1 cup coconut milk - 1 cup water
Ingredients 800 g boneless white fish (e.g. cod), cut into cubes 2 Tbsp Shan ginger garlic paste ½ pkt Shan Fried Fish seasoning 3 Tbsp lemon juice 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour 2 eggs whisked with ¼ cup milk 1 ½ cup panko breadcrumbs ½ cup all-purpose flour 1 tsp chili flakes 4 Tbsp dried parsley Oil for shallow frying (See alternative) Method In a bowl, add Shan fried fish seasoning, Shan ginger garlic paste, lemon juice and 2 tbsp flour to the fish. In another bowl, mix together panko breadcrumbs, ½ cup flour, chili flakes and dried parsley. Dip the fish first in egg mixture, then coat with panko crumbs. Heat oil in a deep pan. Fry the fish on medium heat until golden brown. Alternatively, bake at 200 C for 20 min in oven. OR spray the fish with some oil and air fry for 7 min at 180 C, then flip the side and air fry for another 7 min.

Chatpata Fish Fry | Spicy Masala Fish Fry | Masala Fried Fish | Masala Fish Fry Recipe | Spicy Fish Fry Fish Fry Tawa Fish Fry | Fish Fry Recipe | Chatpata Masala Fish | Tasty Fish Fry Recipe Ingredients for Chapata Fish Fry: - Rohu/Katla/Asian Carp fish pieces - 500 gms (7-8 big pieces) For Marination: 1st Marinade: - Salt- 1 tsp - Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp 2nd Marinade: - Masala Mix: - Besan (Gram flour)-1 tbsp - Red Chilli Powder- 1 tbsp - Coriander powder- 1.25 tsp - Garam masala powder- 3/4 tsp - Salt- 1/4 tsp - Ginger garlic paste- 2 tsp - Juice of lemon- 2 tsp - Water- 1 tbsp - Oil- 2 tbsp - Curry leaves fine chopped- 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves fine chopped- 2 tbsp Other Ingredients: - Oil- 3 tbsp Preparation: - Clean and wash the fish pieces. Pat dry - Fine chop the curry leaves and coriander leaves. Marination: - Add 1 tsp salt and the turmeric powder to the fish pieces. Rub it on both sides and set aside for around 10 mins. - For the 2nd marinade, take a bowl and add all the items for the marinade specified above. Mix it well and then add the marinated fish pieces. Mix well and set aside for 1 hr.
