Masatsugu Fueki uses the same traditional practice of making soy sauce that his predecessors used at Japan’s Fueki Syoyu Brewing over 220 years ago. Fueki takes us through the factory and the multi-step natural brewing process which only uses three ingredients — soybeans, flour, and salt. Japanese shoyu, or soy sauce, was traditionally brewed in vats over two years in a process that dates back to the 7th century. Over the past 60 years, global demand gave way to industrialization, and today less than one percent of shoyu is produced in the old way. But on the island of Shōdoshima, Yasuo Yamamoto ferments soy beans traditionally in bamboo barrels similar to the ones his family has built for the past 150 years. And while it takes four times longer than the modern way to produce, the results are undeniably delicious. Let's have a taste. SUBSCRIBE: 🤍 Got a story idea for us? Soy sauce chicken 豉油鸡 is a classic Cantonese dish that is both easy to prepare and delicious. The end of cooking this dish should be juicy, tender chicken coated in a rich, savoury soy sauce with a hint of cinnamon and star anis aroma. In this recipe, Roland used whole chicken legs, but you can use a whole chicken too. Once you have marinated the chicken for 10 mins, all you have to do is cook the chicken for 15 minutes, then turn off the heat and leave it in the sauce for another 30 minutes. Super easy! The key to making this dish delicious is to not overcook the chicken and to use high-quality soy sauce. This recipe is incredibly simple and delicious. Hope you enjoy it! On days when you have leftover rice in your fridge, the best and most deliciously satisfying way to get rid of it is by gathering some vegetables, some leftover sausage, and heating some oil to make a flavorful fried rice dish. The goal of any good fried rice dish is to emphasize the taste of the rice, the vegetables, and the proteins. To do that, you have to master putting in the right combination of spices and sauces. Some peppers, cumin, and turmeric will help, but what’s the verdict when it comes to soy sauce? We are making the argument towards no. Here’s why you should absolutely never put soy sauce on fried rice. #SoySauce #FriedRice #Rice Read Full Article: 🤍
