Two large bulls fight as they step over and crush a bunch of bicycles. It doesn’t seem to bother the angry animals because they just want to destroy each other. Two bulls go at it in the middle of the street, blocking ongoing traffic, so a man hits them with a stick, hoping they move and another one throws water at them. Neither of the solutions seems to work. A couple of bulls fight in what seems to be a bull park. The park is filled with bulls and there aren’t any humans around, except for the person filming. Nothing much unravels except a few macho bulls trying to demonstrate to the other bulls their strength. Two bulls are seen going head-to-head in this video, and when one of the bulls pushes the other one onto the road, the fight ends and the animals each go their own way. A vicious fight between two big bulls breaks out when they have a disagreement. The bulls clash and it’s not a place anyone would want to be close to, the way these guys are going at it. Two bulls fight it out in the middle of the street. The fight is evenly matched, and the bulls give it their all, sometimes lashing out and sometimes taking a few shots. In the end, the animals walk away unharmed, after giving the residents a great show.

As Europe was engulfed in war in the summer of 1914, the Reichswehr marched prodigiously into battle, capturing the Belgian ports of Osten and Zeebrugge in one fell swoop. With a secure foothold on the Belgian coast, the German Empire could deploy its U-boats and destroyers across the English Channel while completely bypassing the Royal Grand Fleet in the North Sea. The situation was a major headache for the Royal Navy, who now had to face constant U-boat attacks right at their doorstep. By 1917, they were desperate for a solution, and disabling the ports of Zeebrugge became a priority. Even so, every plan to neutralize the port, from a naval bombardment to a large-scale landing all the way to blocking the port canals with scuttled ships, was deemed deficient or too risky. Finally, after years of debate, the Royal Navy decided to launch an all-out attack that combined all of the previous plans in an extraordinary naval effort not unlike assaulting a castle in the middle of the ocean…

By creating greensand, and ramming the sand around the pattern to create a mold. My terminology is probably wrong as I walk through this process step by step, and as I learn more, I'll post a better, more informed, video. But I think I explain things well enough for someone to make a good mold.

Rammed earth is an ancient building technique that has been modernized to be stronger, more durable, and energy efficient with the addition of structural components like rebar as well as insulation. SIREWALL is the acronym for this modernized green building technique and it stands for: Structural Insulated Rammed Earth. In this video, we’re meeting Tony Johnson from Earth House Holdings to learn about rammed earth construction, and to get a peek at the rammed earth home he is building for his family in British Columbia, Canada. To follow and find out more about Tony’s rammed earth construction: 🤍 🤍 🤍 The rammed earth mixture in this project contains soil aggregates (~90%), cement (~9%), and pigment (less than 1%). It is mixed and deposited into plywood forms, then it is rammed with a pneumatic tamper to squish the earth down, and finally, it is cleaned up with a manual tamper. The wall is built in lifts of 6 inches at a time which gives the wall the striations and lines that are typical of rammed earth. Some of the benefits of rammed earth as a green building technique include the fact that it is energy efficient due to the thermal mass and thermal break created by the insulation. It is also an airtight material which means that there’s little heat loss from a poor air barrier. Some studies have also shown that it is fire resistant as well.
