The region of Provence in southern France is world renowned for its great food, fine wines, lavender fields and most of all its charming little villages! Those romantic hilltop villages with their stone houses and narrow alleys date back to medieval or even Roman times. It's one of the best places on earth to enjoy the good life - strolling around the weekly markets, staying at at boutique hotels, eating at luxury restaurants or close the day with a dip in the Mediterranean... These are some of the most beautiful villages in France, each with it's own unique character - enjoy!
The first day to walk around and tour the town of Provence in France! We started at the beautiful hilltop village of Gordes where we walked around beautiful alleys and walkways. Had lunch at La Trinquette, a historic restaurant serving French cuisine. Visited the town of Roussillon with a view of beautiful countryside. We didn't see lavenders in the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque because it was off-season! Good thing we went to the Ochre path for a short walk where we saw ombre-coloured cliffs of a former ochre mine. - FOLLOW US! - Instagram: 🤍 - Facebook: 🤍 - Blog: 🤍 OUR GEAR Sony A7III: 🤍 Sony 16-35 f4 Sony 24-105 lens: 🤍 Sony 55 lens: 🤍 Shure VP83 microphone: 🤍 DJI Mavic Pro: 🤍 GoPro Hero 7 Black

Many artists stayed there after the Second World War and brought an international reputation to the village.Today, the Maeght Foundation maintains the artistic vocation of the place. It is certainly the most visited village in the hinterland of Nice and even one of the most touristic in France. The fortified village of St Paul de Vence is microscopic. It only takes a few minutes to cross the village from side to side but you can spend a few hours there discovering the fantastic views of the ramparts, the architecture of the houses, the squares, the amazing art galleries and the few museums. This charming village perched between the Col de Vence and the Mediterranean offers magnificent panoramas to its visitors. On the sea side, the unobstructed view extends to the Cap d'Antibes: a painting that inspired more than one painter charmed by these Provençal colors. Modigliani, Matisse, Soutine or even Utrillo were seduced by the light of this medieval city and placed these impregnable viewpoints on their easels. At the entrance to the village, in the shade of tall plane trees, the famous boules square, immortalized by the petanque games of Lino Ventura and Yves Montand, remains a must. The impressive list of stars who have their home in Saint Paul de Vence includes: French actress Simone Signoret. Yves Montand. Lino Ventura. world famous painters like Pablo Picasso. Modigliani. The Plateau de Valensole is one of the most famous nature reserves of France and is located in the department Alpes-de-Haute-Provence the area is famous about it's lavender fields. Early in July, during my holiday, I spotted various harvest operations and got invited by some friendly farmers to film the distillation proces also. (This video is part 1 of 3) Merci aux agriculteurs de Plateau de Valensole! Sort explanation about the Lavender harvesting and distillation proces: The harvest is carried out when the lavender is in full bloom or just after usually at the end of June and throughout july and depending on the weather. The Lavender flowers and stems are cut and brought to the distillery in purpose built trailers. In the distillery a lid is lowered onto the trailer and the trailer sealed. Water is heated and made into steam is fed into the trailer through pipes in the floor. The lavender stems, although containing little oil, create a porous structure within the trailer to allow the steam to circulate. This heats the whole trailer load of around five tonnes of material up to 100 degreesC. At this temperature the steam causes the oil glands to erupt, and the oil evaporates into the steam. This steam with the oil now entrained within it, rises through the trailer and is collected in the funnel shaped lid. The mix of oil and steam is then piped to a condenser. Inside the condenser is a series of steel tubes set out in a honeycomb pattern. The steam / oil mixture passes down through the tubes. Cold rainwater is pumped between the tubes, which condenses the steam back to oil and water. The oil and water mixture is piped into the separator tank. Here the two liquids are allowed to settle out, and the oil forms a layer on the top of the water. The precious lavender oil is then collected from the separator. Thanks for watching! Definitely worth visiting, the village is located about 12 miles or 20 kilometers south of Avignon in the heart of Provence. Subscribe now: 🤍 It’s a good destination any time, but extra special on a Wednesday morning with the outdoor food and flea market going strong, as we’ll show you coming up soon in the program. Provence in the south of France is famous for its outdoor markets and you'll find the market at Saint-Rémy is one of the best. But just simply walking the pedestrian lanes of this small town any day of the week is probably the most interesting thing you could do here and we are going to show you all the places to see. The village center is small enough that you can just walk any place you like, it doesn't take long, and you won't get lost, but this map route gives you some idea of a sequence of lanes you can easily walk through the little town. That would only take you about one hour altogether to cover the entire village, but of course you’ll want to linger, do some shopping, take some pictures and look around. Our tour was conducted by Provence Reservations. 🤍

The small town of #Roussillon is located on a steep hill between the mountains of Ventoux and the protected lands of the Luberon. The town is famous first of all for its ocher rocks located around. Since the 18th century, the textile industry in #Provence has developed rapidly, and ocher has found demand as a dye. Ocher mined in local quarries was used to produce paints that were used to paint the facades and walls of their houses. Roussillon is one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France". It's an old village with a fortified wall around it with some stone structures that date back to the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, and it had fallen apart in recent times, early twentieth century it was quite dilapidated – some of the old buildings were falling down. But it has been fixed up like new. It's amazing, because the art industry has moved in. There are fifty galleries, workshops and studios here, of the highest quality. There is one main lane in the village and we're going to walk you along its entire length from one end to the other and then back again. The visitor enters the town through the vaulted passage of the main gate, and then makes his way by the inner guard, under a tower with a channel for the portcullis, that gate that could drop down to keep out the enemy, finally reaching the inside of the town. Saint-Paul de Vence is quiet and clean, spotless, scrubbed, no hint of graffiti. It's full of picturesque lanes, of quaint corners and odd passages. These charming towns are filled with historic buildings, Roman ruins, beautiful churches and of course chick stores and wonderful restaurants, as can be expected in this part of the word.

In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view on Chemins de Fer de Provence, metre gauge railway in France between Nice and Thorame-Haute in 4K/60 frames per second. The Chemins de Fer de Provence is a small rail company providing a daily train service between Nice and Digne-les-Bains in Provence, a route that leads us from the famous Côte d'Azur on the Mediterranean Sea up to the Alps. Their one route, which dates from the 1890s, is known locally as the Train des Pignes (pine nut in French). The line from Nice to Digne-les-Bains has more than 1000 engineering structures as of 25 tunnels, 16 viaducts, 15 bridges and 50 stations. The structures offer spectacular viewpoints. The Chemins de Fer de Provence offers an on-board Audio guide service through their mobile application and the Steam train service between Puget-Théniers and Annot, from May to November. I could not use the GPS data, so there is no speedometer and elevation data available in the video. I would like to thank the officials of the Chemins de Fer de Provence for supporting me and helping me to film this mythical French railway which celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2017. What's up guys! Welcome back to another travel vlog! This time we're headed on a 5 hour road trip from where I live (45' northeast of Barcelona) to Aix-en-Provence, in the south of France, for a 3 day weekend. We were meant to go for my birthday in March 2020, but we all know what took place instead 😆 So now, for my first time ever, I am headed to visit this beautiful Provençal area. I'd heard and seen so much about the wine, the way of living, the light, style of buildings and so much more so I was really excited to finally have the opportunity to visit and enjoy such a historical and beautiful place. 🌿 We visited June 4 - 6, 2022, so it was definitely full-on summer heat happening; actually quite a bit hotter than where we live by about 7ºC+, but no complaints - it was still stunning and offered up some truly picturesque sight seeing and experiential moments. I've shared the name for all the restaurants, hotels, museums and places we visited inside the video so be sure to save them to your google maps for when you get a chance to visit! Link to NARS Afterglow lip balm I spoke of: 🤍 (affiliate link) This is the second vlog of mine that I have personally edited myself so I'm really excited to share it with you all! It's made me realize what an investment of time the editing alone is! So I truly hope you guys will enjoy the footage and my style of editing! Please do let me know your feedback in a comment! We spend a day doing a road trip in the small villages in the Provence. Gordes, Roussillon and Apt! The Villages and especially the views from those villages are stunning! But the most interesting area was the area around Roussillon - The Ochre Footpath! It was like I was on the Mars. Only the trees reminded me that I'm still on earth! Apt wasn't that special and it was really late after we arrived there, but we had some amazing moroccan dinner there! #Gordes #Roussillon #Provence SUBSCRIBE HERE: 🤍 MY KIT: CANON EOS 80D: 🤍 FAVORITE LENS: 🤍 BACKPACK: 🤍 2ND CAMERA: 🤍 WIDEANGLE LENS: 🤍 GOPRO HERO 5: 🤍 MACBOOK: 🤍 MAVIC PRO: 🤍 RODE MIC: 🤍 HEADPHONES: 🤍 FOLLOW ME: 🤍 🤍 🤍 Music: 🤍 Filmed on a Canon Canon 80D & G7X mark II
