The taxonomic assignment of C. megalodon has been debated for nearly a century, and is still under dispute. The two major interpretations are Carcharodon megalodon (under family Lamnidae) or Carcharocles megalodon (under family Otodontidae).[2] Consequently, the scientific name of this species is commonly abbreviated C. megalodon in the literature. C. megalodon is regarded as one of the largest and most powerful predators in vertebrate history,[3] and likely had a profound impact on the structure of marine communities.[4] Fossil remains suggest that this giant shark reached a maximum length of 1418 metres (4659 ft),[3] and also affirm that it had a cosmopolitan distribution.[2] Scientists suggest that C. megalodon looked like a stockier version of the great white shark, Carcharodon carcharias. 15 Recent Megalodon Encounters Caught On Camera

For copyright matters, please contact: bosstech148🤍 Sharks are known for being the most terrifying species to roam the oceans, but megalodons are the scariest of them, with a jaw full of teeth as large as an adult human’s hand. Megalodons are said to have lived in warm seas millions of years ago, but some recent sightings state otherwise. Here are 10 Scary shark sightings that might just be megalodon

Make sure to subscribe and never miss a single video! #viralstory #amazingpeople #top5best 10 Sightings of the Megalodon That May Prove It Exists No other prehistoric animals has divided opinions more than the megalodon, mostly about the question whether it still exists or not. While a lot of experts definitely say that these monsters are long gone, there are still some who fervently believe that they still roam the earth’s waters. Many sightings of the mighty fish have been reported through the decades, some of which are so compelling that it’s really hard not to believe that these monsters died out millions of years ago. The number one sighting is particularly curious, so stay tuned for that. Here are 10 Sightings of the Megalodon That May Prove It Exists. Number 10. An Unverified Attack Let’s start things off not with an actual sighting, but with the possible outcome of a close encounter with a megalodon. A few years ago, a photo surfaced on the internet showing a beached whale. While seeing abeached whale is already strange in itself, there’s something that sets this event apart from the rest. The whale’s entire tail is missing, and it looks like it’s been bitten off by something large. The most compelling thing about the photo is that you can clearly see bite marks around where the tail should have been. Now, this is a 70 foot humpback whale, one of the largest animals in the oceans, who could have done such a thing? While it is true that Orcas or killer whales have a habit of hunting and feeding on whales, it isn’t known whether they can take on a whale of this size. Plus, experts believe that the tail was shorn off in one bite. The only animal with the size and strength to possibly do this is, you’ve guessed it, the mighty megalodon. Number 9. Unusually Young Teeth Still yet another sighting, I promise we will get into those in a bit, but not something less compelling. This story has something to do with the British ship HMS Challenger, a former small warship that was converted into the first dedicated oceanographic ship with its own laboratories, microscopes and other scientific equipment onboard. Its job was to explore the oceans and discover new animals that have never been previously discovered, mostly by dredging the bottom of the ocean and see what they can drag up. While dredging a seabed near Tahiti in 1875, pulled up a pair of Megalodon teeth. Over the years, dating of the teeth has produced mixed results. Some dates fall in the 10,000-15,000-year-old range. That's a far cry from 1.5 million years ago, when Megalodon supposedly went extinct. If the dating is accurate, megalodons have survived to a far later time than previously thought. And if they made it to as late as 10,000 years ago, who’s to say they aren’t roaming the oceans today? Number 8. The Google Map Sighting Ever since Google Maps was launched, a lot of people have been finding strange things on there. Some are easily explainable, like glitches on the photo or misidentifying certain things or animals to be something totally different, like in a recent viral photo, which many thought to be proof of the Kraken, turned out to be just a rock. But there are some cases that, no matter how strange they are, can’t simply be explained by conventional thinking. 🤍 This image reportedly shows a Google Map image in the Bahamas. In it you can clearly show the silhouette of an extremely large fish. We know it’s large because these images are taken by satellites orbiting the earth, so animal that would have registered on the image must be extremely large. Could it be a whale shark, the only living animal that could even remotely match what’s on the photo? Yes, it could be, but if you see the photo, there’s something quite a bit off with the shape for it to be a whale shark. Of course, it is a bit premature to declare this to be a megalodon, but what are the other possibilities? Of course there’s the “doctored photo” explanation, which is also highly likely. But, in the remotest of chances that the google map image wasn’t faked, is it still safe to swim in the Bahamas? Number 7. The Cape Town Photo This piece of evidence caused both a sensation and an uproar dividing mainstream scientists and those who are keeping an open mind. This very famous photo shows an extremely large fish swimming alongside German Uboats, reportedly taken just off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa during the height or World War II in 1942. The photo even shows German sailors looking at the monstrous beast as it swims alongside the submarines.

MEGALODON Caught On Camera- real or fake

You guys have been sending me all kinds of links to Megalodon pictures and videos… but so far nothing that would prove megalodons still exist today - but then this came in. OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUBMITTED THIS VIDEO ... THANK YOU! Cor Kelly Ellis Sebastian Grønborg Hansen Lori Green Salman Nur Danish Artist Bruno Gonzalez Gomez chima mineman Shaun Watson Henry Gaytan Luis Hernandez Saish Naik harry pearce Wrecker ZACH V76betty The video uses the title “Megalodon Caught on Camera” and it was sent in by a whole bunch of people starting with Nicole Stewart, Kirby Games, and creeperlicious123… It shows what looks like a huge huge shark at the bottom of the ocean - but is this really a living Megalodon? Or is this maybe just a another mega-hoax? Why don’t we just dive in and see if we can get to the bottom of this… MUSIC UP Taking a closer look at the video, we see it claims this video was recorded in the Pacific ocean at a place called Mariana Trench. SThe video shows us what looks like a camera feed from a remote underwater location. There is a strange structure on the ocean floor and a huge fish coming in from the right side of the camera. Although we do get to see the fish for an extended period of time, we can’t really accurately measure it’s size. There is nothing in view that we could use to show us some scale. I did a little looking around a bit, but couldn’t come up with much on my own, so I turned to Billschannel chief researcher Kyle Darkkova. Kyle poured over dozens of webpages and followed this story back to it’s source, which brings me to this… the official answer. But before I can tell you what the verdict is, I want to hear your answer first. So what I want you to do is… Yell out you answer either real or fake as loud as you can. Now if you’re the non verbal type or in class or the library, it’s ok to pause this video, go to the comments section, leave you answer there and then come back and watch the rest of the video…. ok… now no cheating… you ready and Go… Ok, and now the official answer and here we go… The video showing a giant size fish at the bottom of the ocean has been examined and unanimously agreed to be a real video… but the fish shown in the video has been misidentified… it is not a megalodon and therefor the claim that is a living megalodon caught on camera is... fake. Ok, I can understand that? But if it wasn’t a megalodon, what was it? As it turns out, what we are looking is a piece of video shot by Japanese scientists sometime between 2000 and 2003. According to multiple sources, it wasn’t shot in the Mariana Trench, but rather Suruga Bay which is not far away. In this article from Russian publication Pravda, published in 2003, we get the real identity of the fish. it says, The researchers put a container with some smelly bait on the bay bottom. The smell of the bait attracted a shoal of deep-water sharks. But then the sharks scattered in all directions and researchers saw an incredibly huge monster on the screens of their monitors. It turned to be a 7 meter or 23 foot long Pacific Sleeper shark. This is one of the largest species of sharks in the oceans but it is rarely seen because it spends its time in very deep waters. Here’s another video of sleeper shark recorded at 9100 feet (or just under 2800 Meters). When you compare this to this, you see it is indeed a sleeper shark and not a Megalodon. Ok, well that’s another Megalodon sighting down the drain. But don’t worry, this video has a happy ending because… I have a t-shirt to give away…. Ladies and genttlemen, this is an official Mothman t-shirt from the mothman museum in Point Pleasant, Va. Now, unfortunately I only have one and it’s a large but hey, if you’re not a large you can always make a gift for someone else… Now all you have to do is send an email to billschannel🤍 and say “mothman lives” anywhere in the email.. subject, body, I don’t care… In a week or so we’ll pick a random winner and let you know if you are the lucky one! Ok, that’s all the time I have this week… see you next time!

Sightings of massive sharks around the world suggest to some that it's possible. Megalodon Shark Sightings Reported Megalodon shark sightings have some people wondering if the most formidable predator the ocean has ever seen might still be alive today, even though science and common sense tell us it's impossible. At maximum lengths of up to 60 feet, Megalodon was the largest shark that ever lived and the apex predator of its day. This terrifying monster lived at a time when the ocean was a very different place, and it went extinct long ago. Why, then, are there reports of massive sharks thirty feet long or more from around the world? Is it possible mainstream science has it wrong, and the Megalodon shark is still out there somewhere? In this article we'll take a look at some compelling evidence and stories that suggest Megalodon is still with us. In the end, it's up to you to decide: Is the Megalodon Shark still alive? Could Megalodon Still Live? There are some truly huge sharks in the world today, but the idea of a living Megalodon is something else entirely. It's a chilling thought, and fun to ponder, but is it really possible? When you consider that some researchers claim we know more about the surface of the moon that we do of the deep ocean, perhaps it's not such a strange idea after all. The deep ocean has proven especially difficult to study, and almost anything could lurk in the depths. In fact, there is precedence for bizarre marine creatures turning up when the odds are stacked against them. Some of them, like the Megalodon shark, were once thought extinct, or be believed to only be myths. The Giant Squid The Giant Squid is a huge creature reaching up to 30 feet in length which dwells in the deepest part of the ocean. Though science eventually knew of its existence from bodies washed ashore and scars left on the bodies of whales, no live adult specimen was ever caught on film until 2004. Now we know much more about these creatures, and that there is an even larger monster squid out there. The Colossal Squid is an enormous real-life sea monster, with the largest specimens weighing over half a ton. Yet even though it was discovered in 1925 we still know little about this beast. Colossal and Giant squid sightings by ancient sailors are probably what led to legends of the Kraken sea monster. The Megamouth Shark The Megamouth Shark is another large creature that can grow up to 16 feet in length, but it was not discovered until 1976. This beast eluded researchers for so long because it lives in deep water, and comes closer to the surface only at night. This, some researchers speculate, could be the same behavior that makes Megalodon so tough to spot in modern times. The Coelacanth The Coelacanth is an even stranger case. This bizarre fish was thought to have gone extinct 65 million years ago, until they were discovered in 1938, live and well, off the coast of South Africa. The Coelacanth is a prehistoric fish, referred to as the Living Fossil. While not giants like Megalodon, the Megamouth or the Giant Squid, they do reach over six feet in length.

Megalodons Caught On Camera & Spotted In Real Life! 100M is the #1 place for all your heart warming stories about amazing people that will inspire you everyday. Make sure to subscribe and never miss a single video! #viral #amazing #100M #animals Megalodon Caught On Camera And Spotted In Real Life Megalodon has always been known as the scariest and most terrifying animal in the sea. The sea monster is huge and has jaws that could decimate a ship. The Meg, as it is often called, is the stuff that makes up nightmares. In the ancient days, stories of a wild large whale that roamed the open waters were told by old sailors to young ones. We now know that this creature of the myths was probably the Meg. Thankfully, the Meg is extinct today. Well, that's what we think at least. Recent sightings tell us that this may not be true. Today, we'll be going through ten sightings of the Meg that may prove that it's still very much alive! #10 Evidence Of A Baby Megalodon Megs are pretty huge animals, and even baby Megs can reach impossible lengths of more than twenty feet. That's longer than the average school bus! This video is one of the pieces of evidence that's usually put forward when people ask about the existence of the Megalodon. But is it real? The video shows divers minding their business in a cage, while a huge shark that is over 20 feet long swam around them. Is this huge shark a Megalodon? First off, we need to know that normal sharks rarely grow as huge as this, so this is by no means a regular video. The video was published by Mauricio Hoyes, and even though he didn't call the shark a Megalodon, he called it the biggest shark he'd ever seen. Now, we know that even though this shark is pretty big, it couldn't possibly be an adult Megalodon because they generally reach lengths of about 60 feet. So maybe it's just a baby Meg, not an adult one. What do you think? Do you think is a baby Meg? 🤍 #9 The Meg In Japan This video is peculiar because it's extremely realistic. In fact, it's probably one of the most realistic Meg videos we have ever seen. But is it real? Let's find out. First off, the video appears to have been taken by an underwater webcam. So it looks pretty eerie. It was taken in Asia, and it's the only Meg sighting that in the region. But why would an underwater cam be here in any case? Our best guess is that the cam was a part of a military installation like a submarine or an aircraft carrier. That's why the pictures from the webcam are so clear. So what did the camera capture? This. This looks like a big shark— a shark so big that it could be the famed Megalodon of the myths. The video clearly shows a huge animal that may be dead or just resting in the ocean. It's easy to say that this video is faked, by extensive tests have shown that it is actually real. The problem now is that we don't know which animal is lying on the ground. It looks huge for sure, but we don't have evidence that it's a Meg. We just know that it looks larger than anything we've ever seen. 🤍 #8 The Meg On The Coast Of Brazil The events you're about to see on this deeply shocking video happened on November 20th, 2012. It started off as a pretty normal day on the coast until the Brazilian coastguard got a call. There was a swimmer drowning in the sea, and they had to save him. It sounded like a pretty routine rescue mission, and it may have just been just that. The Coastguard got into their helicopters and started looking for the drowning swimmer. The plan was simple— find him, set a ladder down, and rescue him. Pretty, standard, right? Now, the coastguard often attaches cameras to their helicopters. This is done for record-keeping and training purposes. As they approached the rescue spot, the camera caught something extremely disturbing. Just near where the swimmer was swimming for help, there appeared to be a huge shadow passing beneath the waves. It was certainly not a white whale as the shadow was bigger than that, and it couldn't have been an orca either. There's only one explanation. It was Megalodon. Look at the video again and tell us what you think. Do you think the shadow beneath the waves was a Megalodon or not? #7 The Megalodon Vs. The Kayak Kayaks is pretty small boats that can be overturned by a large enough wave. That's why it's not advisable to use one in parts of the sea where the waves could get too overwhelming. However, that's one advice that this man didn't take. He took his Kayak, went off into the ocean, and got the shock of his life.

दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी शार्क Megalodon | LARGEST Shark In The World - Megalodon Hindi

Megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 23 to 2.6 million years ago, during the Cenozoic Era Scientists from Zurich University have proposed the largest shark that ever lived became extinct due to a lack of prey and increased competition from predators. Carcharocles megalodon lived between 2.6m and 28m years ago and could grow to up to 18 metres in length. It weighed up to 100 tonnes and fed on small whales. The scientists’ new theory moves away from the previous reasoning behind their extinction – climate change. Megalodon Didn't Look Like Giant White Shark

Earth's oceans were once home to an absolutely terrible creature. The Meg was a giant creature roaming the ocean, with collossal teeth and a huge jaw. Most reconstructions show megalodon looking like an enormous great white shark. But a recent study showed it wasn't exactly like that. It appears it might be time to rethink how we imagine the ancient beast. What did the Meg really look like? It's possible that all the images of the Meg we've seen turn out to be wrong. Did it look like the great white shark but much bigger or it could resemble some other ocean creature? #brightside TIMESTAMPS The water is bubbling 00:00 The image of the Meg was wrong 00:32 The Meg's size 00:40 The Meg's tooth 01:22 The vertebral column 01:48 Average weight 02:34 Appearance of the Meg 03:14 The maneuverability 04:45 Dangerousr? 06:00 The Mariana Trench 07:47 The Meg's food 08:40 Animation is created by Bright Side.
