Graeme O'Neil takes a look at what Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Julia Garner, and showrunner Chris Mundy have said about the final episode of "Ozark".
Subscribe: 🤍 Pretty soon smart middle class white guys getting themselves in over their head in the criminal world by overestimating their intelligence will become a genre. For the Jason Bateman led ensemble crime drama on Netflix, the smartness comes in the form of a seemingly mild mannered financial accounting wizard who assumed that he could take his big city ways to a podunk part of the Ozarks and launder money with no one being the wiser. What Bateman’s character Marty Byrde didn’t take into account was that there would already be a fully realized and functioning underworld of crime already in place that neither wanted nor appreciated the level of financial criminality that Marty brought to the table. The perfect recipe for a clever person to overestimate their own intelligence and dig themselves in deeper and deeper as they run around putting out fires set by the people around him who don’t have his temperament. For four seasons the Byrde family has been jumping from frying pan to fire to bigger fire to just a big ol’ cauldron of lava. Over the course of the series we’ve seen the effectiveness of Marty talking his way out of things and right into even bigger problems as he is surrounded by chaos agents. With the series finally at its close we’ll look at the detail of the second part of the fourth season and how we got here. What’s your favorite detail from the show? Ozark Season 3 ending explained. Recap and review of the third season of Ozark on Netflix. Please subscribe! - 🤍 Ozark is back for season 3 and this is one of the best installments of the series that revolves around the Byrdes. At the end of season 2 they managed to get their casino approved and we pick up at Osage Beach where Marty is still running into problems laundering the cartels money. Wendy is taking the initiative to try to expand the Byrde family business with the help of Helen Pierce. Ruth Langmore is working at the casino by Marty’s side at the beginning of season 3. She remains loyal even after the Byrde’s eliminated her father Cade Langmore, and she’s still trying to help her cousin Wyatt get to college. Wyatt isn’t talking to her, and ends up getting involved with Darlene Snell. In Ozark season 3 we meet Wendy’s brother Ben. Ben is bipolar which becomes a problem after he stops taking his meds. He falls in love with Ruth and they fall into a relationship that gets stressed as his condition worsens. Ben spirals as he learns more about Wendy and Marty’s business. First Marty is kidnapped by the Cartel, and then Ruth is hospitalized after an attack by an associate from the Kansas City mob. In a heartbreaking turn Ben becomes a sacrifice after exposing to her daughter that Helen works for the cartel. This video explains the ending of season 3 of Ozark, and why Ben was sacrificed. Helen makes a move against the Byrdes, but they are able to make themselves more valuable to the cartel to come out on top. The FBI is watching Marty’s every move, and the casino is in jeopardy. Ruth leaves the Byrdes to join Darlene and Wyatt creating a new faction between the Langmores and the Snells. The ending of season 3 of Ozark on Netflix feels like a cliffhanger that sets up a season 4. The Byrdes are even more under the grip of Navarro, and now all the other criminal factions are lined up against them. Ozark Season 3: It's six months later, the casino is up and running, but Marty and Wendy are fighting for control of the family's destiny. Marty preaches keeping the status quo. Aided by an alliance with Helen and drug cartel leader Omar Navarro, Wendy plots for expansion. But when Wendy's brother Ben comes into town, everyone's lives are thrown into chaos. 🤍 The new season stars Emmy Award® Winner Jason Bateman, Emmy Award® Winner Laura Linney, Emmy Award® Winner Julia Garner, Emmy Award® nominee Janet McTeer, Tom Pelphrey, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan, Lisa Emery and Jessica Frances Dukes. The series from MRC Television was created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams who executive produce alongside Jason Bateman, Chris Mundy and John Shiban. #Ozark #Netflix #OzarkSeason3
In this scene, Marty and Wendy Byrd, accompanied by Helen Pierce, exit the vehicle at the home of cartel leader Omar Navarro, wherein they are greeted by their presumed host. Shortly after saying hello, Omar's hitman-employee abruptly draws his weapon, and shoots Helen in the head, killing her.

Ozark Was NEVER Meant To End The Way It Did.. Here's Why Welcome back to Show Spotter, today on the channel we are going to talk about ‘Ozark’ Showrunner Chris Mundy on Whether The Show Was Always Going to End The Way It Did + other related news. Ozark showrunner Chris Mundy and the shows’ writers sat down to write the fourth and final season of the Netflix series in February 2020, only to be shut down a few weeks later. Then, four episodes were added to the roster, with the season to be split into two parts. “We’d already sort of done it — we plotted it out, [and then] we had to stop and recalibrate,” Mundy tells THR. “The really hard part of that was you had to end episode seven in a way that felt like an ending and start at eight in a way that felt [like a beginning of a new season] because that’s the way people were going to experience it. That was super hard. And then, of course, we started filming [during] COVID with no vaccine. It was all a high degree of difficulty.” Mundy spoke to THR about the pressures of writing the final episode of a show, whether it was always going to end like it did (warning: spoilers ahead!) and what was most challenging this season. Meanwhile, ‘Ozark’ Emmy Nominee Laura Linney Describes The Influences That Helped Her Create Unforgettable Character Wendy Byrde — The Film That Lit My Fuse. The Film That Lit My Fuse is a Deadline video series that aims to provide an antidote to headlines about industry uncertainty by swinging the conversation back to the creative ambitions, formative influences and inspirations of some of today’s great screen artists.
