The band not only performed a superb show, but also saw none other than original drummer Deen Castronovo jump behind the kit to play on selected tracks from the band’s debut album. Hardline has been consistently touring in Europe the past few years and are a well oiled live machine. The show they put on at the legendary Live Club in Trezzo Sull’Adda has been hailed by many as one of their best in recent memory. With a solid rhythm section featuring powerhouse drummer Marco Di Salvia and Anna Portalupi, the multi-talented Alessandro Del Vecchio on keyboards and background vocals, stellar new guitarist Mario Percudani, and of course the inimitable Johnny Gioeli on vocals, Hardline rocked out hits from their debut album and played a selection of more recent hits from the last three albums. The entire Hardline performance at Frontiers Festival in 2019! Taken from the "Life Live" DVD. Unfortunately, the DVD is no longer on sale, most likely permanently, which is why I decided to release the full thing here to all of you so you can still enjoy it. I took every step necessary to make sure as little quality loss as possible occurred while I uploaded this onto YouTube, and I upscaled the video to 1080p to avoid YouTube compression but unfortunately, DVDs can only hold 480p max so this is pretty much the absolute best it gets. I also created subtitles for the entire concert and uploaded them alongside the video, so you can hit the "CC" button and still sing along in case you don't know the lyrics. The band went back to 1992's “Double Eclipse” album for influence for the songs on this record, but additionally they also looked a little closer in the rearview at the tremendous predecessor to this album, “Human Nature”. The resulting album, LIFE, perfectly blends the influences of those two albums and sees Hardline heavier, stronger, bigger, and better than ever. The band entered the studio feeling loose and relaxed from all their gigging. The two newest members, Marco Di Salvia on drums and Mario Percudani on guitar, had gelled seamlessly with the rest of the band from all those shows and combined with Anna Portalupi's pulsating rhythms and Alessandro Del Vecchio's songwriting and production abilities, LIFE was almost effortless for the band to create. It's the day of qualifying at Red Bull Hardline 2021, with the live race tomorrow to crown the gnarliest pro downhill MTB racer the champion of Hardline, the worlds most insane downhill race track. My twin brother Jono will be racing and has now ridden every one of the new jumps and features on the changed course for this year. The jumps are huge and all the riders have teamed up to ride this savage series of gaps and blind drops. Red Bull bought 5 brand new pit bikes for all the racers to go head to head for an epic pit bike race in 5 teams, it was insanely fun racing around a field and watching everyone crashes on the mini motorbikes. Enjoy some POV riding from Jono, Bernard Kerr and Brendan Fairclough just before we go live for finals and qualis today and tomorrow. Good luck to Bernard after a crash in practice today, he's super motivated to produce a winning run and make it 3 wins here at Hardline. Legends
