Pastured Pig Feed - SECRET Recipe for Growing Large Pigs FAST. Today we take a visit to our local feed mill where they mill our pastured pig feed for our farm. We talk about the ingredients and the ration that is milled to help grow our pigs big and healthy so they are ready to go to market at 6-7 months old. Our pastured pigs are out on pasture but they do receive a regular ration that helps them put on weight and muscle quickly so they can be processed. Pastured pigs are a great option for beginning farmers or anyone who wants to raise their own food on a homestead. If you are homesteading we would highly recommend raising pigs on pasture and especially raising pigs outdoors. The mill we visit is an old feed mill located in central North Carolina that has been in business for around 125 years. They custom grind animal feed for local farms and farmers helping them to raise animals right using locally sourced feed ingredients.
