Foo Fighters have become one of the biggest rock bands of recent times, Dave Grohl is often seen as the face of the band and if it wasn’t for his time with Nirvana, Foo Fighters probably wouldn’t even exist. Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins sadly passed away on March 25, 2022. He was found unresponsive in a hotel room. He was just 50 years old. Grohl has also been in Queens of The Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, and collaborated with dozens of other artists. Most notably with Lemmy of Motorhead when he recorded his Metal side project Probot, in 2004. Few bands can say they’ve sold millions of albums as well as playing the iconic Wembley Stadium in the UK, Foo Fighters however, are one of those bands and this is their story. ⚡Official Foo Fighters Documentary: Back and Forth⚡ Shop: 🤍 Documentary: 🤍 ⚡ Or make a one-off donation via PayPal ⚡ 🤍 Become a member of my channel to support my work: 🤍 ⚡Follow me - 🤍 ⚡ ⚡More content - 🤍 ⚡ ⚡Facebook - 🤍 ⚡ ⚡Reddit - 🤍 ⚡ ⚡Instagram - 🤍

WHAT DRIVES US is a testament to the musician’s life. Watch now: 🤍 WHAT DRIVES US is out now exclusively on The Coda Collection via Amazon Prime Video Channels in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. via Amazon Prime Video. “This film is my love letter to every musician that has ever jumped in an old van with their friends and left it all behind for the simple reward of playing music. What started as a project to pull back the curtain on the DIY logistics of stuffing all of your friends and equipment into a small space for months on end eventually turned into an exploration of “why?” What drives us?” - Dave Grohl Directed by Dave Grohl, this feature documentary film is a love letter to the rare club of rock and roll, as well as an inspiration to every young kid who dreams of a life playing music. Dave was that kid. And so was Ringo, Annie Clark, The Edge, Steven Tyler, and everyone in between. The list goes on forever. While they all have stories— outrageous, unbelievable, insane, as well as poignant stories— they all share a common bond. At some point, before anyone knew their name, they had an unstoppable drive to share their music with the world. Their passion led them to leave everything behind, throw caution to the wind, and chase their dream. Nobody was promised anything, but they all had a plan. However, she accepted her assignment with a sense of trepidation, because she already knew encounters with “The Fooeys” tend to be rather unpredictable – no one is ever quite sure what’s about to happen or why. Grohl and Hawkins have well and truly worked out that every waking moment of life is for living. As well as not having an off switch they also have no filter, which is a nice way of saying their language is as colourful as their lives. But more than anything, these rock legends are great fun, and their music’s not too bad either. Kurt Cobain - Despite impressing Cobain and Novaselic with his drumming chops and becoming one of the biggest drummers of the 90’s with his work on Nevermind and In-Utero, Cobain and Grohl’s relationship went through a lot of ups and downs. Grohl would be the band’s sixth drummer by the time he joined the group. By the time Grohl joined the group in 1990 the band already released their debut record Bleach and were wanting a new drummer with Cobain telling an interviewer Krist [Novoselic] and I have been playing together for about four and a half years now with a few different drummers. Dave has been in the band for about a year. This is the first time we've felt like a very definite unit. The band is finally complete because all the other drummers we had pretty much sucked." Despite musically sharing similar interests there was always a feeling of tension even from the early days as Grohl told the big issue in 2021 , "When I first met Kurt [Cobain] and Krist ... musically, it was a match made in heaven. But personally, it was a bit off, to be honest. Of course we loved each other. We were friends. But, you know, there was a dysfunction in Nirvana that a band like Foo Fighters doesn't have. Taylor Hawkins - Despite being the best of friends the bandmates also had some bumpy times, most notably during the recording of the group’s fourth album One by One. It was in 2001 the band was out on the road playing some shows in Europe when Hawkins suffered a near fatal overdose following a gig. In the documentary Back and Forth Hawkins revealed that once the band assembled to record One by One the band was not gelling in the studios and Grohl was splitting his time between the Foo’s and playing drums in Queens of the Stone Age. Grohl was upset that Hawkins hadn’t seen him play in Queens of the Stone Age and Hawkins was upset that Grohl was acting selfish. The band would play Coachella in 2002 and planned for the gig to be their last. But following the gig, the band gave recording their fourth album another shot and the band kept going for the next two decades. The Cult - Unbeknownst to a lot of people there existed some bad blood between The Cult and Dave Grohl. It all stemmed from an interview Grohl gave around the year 2000 when the cult were working on their comeback album Beyond Good and Evil. Grohl told alternative press that around the new millennium he went to concert the Cult were playing on a dare. He would add he thought the band’s music was overprioduced and their live show was so tortuous he wanted to shoot himself. The Cult frontman Ian Astbury got wind of the comments and it was during the recording of Beyond Good and Evil they had tentatively titled one song ‘Bring Me The Head of Dave Grohl.’ The members of the Cult were taken aback by the comments considering they were big fans of Grohl. They of course didn’t use the title when the song came out. Then 16 years later while the Cult and Foo Fighters were playing the same festival on the same day in Portugal Astbury revealed Grohl buried the hatchet telling vanyaland: “He walked into our dressing room, walked straight up to me, and said, ‘Hi, I’m David Grohl. It’s really nice to meet you. Because I’m not sure what happened in the past, but hopefully we can put all that behind us, and I just want to say great to meet you.’ I shook the man’s hand. I have no problem with him. He’s an incredible artist. There’s room for everybody. If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. But don’t put down a fellow artist, ever. I’m sure there have been times when I’ve said slight things about artists and later have gone away and gone, like, ‘Why did I say that? Was I jealous? Was it just a brain fart?'”

Back in 2001, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins overdosed on heroin and landed in a weeks-long coma - just four years after joining the Foo Fighters. Fortunately, he came out of the incident with his life and lived on to keep creating great music with the band for the next two decades.
Between 1989 and 1994, Nirvana introduced a new and exciting brand of rock music to the UK – one that changed the musical landscape and influenced a generation of British youth. Thirty years on since the release of their seminal album Nevermind, this documentary examines the special relationship between Nirvana and the UK – including the role Britain played in paving the way for their global success. Featuring rare and unseen archive footage - as well as home movies shot by the band themselves - the film charts Nirvana’s rise from their very first British tour, performing in pubs and tiny gig venues, through to legendary (and infamous) TV appearances on The Word and Top of the Pops that helped cement their status as one of the biggest rock bands on the planet, taking ‘grunge culture’ from the underground to the mainstream.

In rock N roll, a world rife with self proclaimed bad boys, Dave Grohl carved out a niche as rock's good guy, a happy, jubilant, music loving bro who clearly loves writing songs, playing guitar and rocking out on stage hundreds of nights a year for thousands of fans screaming out the lyrics to his songs. Grohl is a rock lifer having honed his chops as one of the best drummers ever in punk and hardcore bands before joining the 90s defining grunge band Nirvana and then moving to the front of the stage for his arena rock juggernaut Foo Fighters, Grohl is a two time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of both bands. A lot has gone very right in Grohl's life, but that's not the whole picture of the man, Even all time rock idols are human beings and humans suffer greatly. Over his five plus decades on this planet, Grohl has endured a fair amount of sadness, hardship and shockingly horrific ordeals, Here's a look into the occasionally tragic personal life of Dave Grohl. It's not a song. Nor a documentary. IYH is an ambitious dream that brings all that together and shows how raw and how intense the symbiosis between a group of friends and their favorite band can be. It's a concept that was born the moment Dave Grohl (lead vocalist of Foo Fighters) surprised by the wild crowd's reaction during their show in Argentina in March 2018, salid "Why don't you start a band and I'll come to see you every night, how about that?" That phrase, which most of the times is symbolically interpreted as a thank-you gesture, didn't go unnoticed by one of the members of the crowd that night, Juan Pablo Sanzi, who immediately got the message of his idol and realized he had to do something about it. And so he did. His idea consisted in conceiving a comprehensive plan moving away from the classic concepto of the "tribute band". In other words, the creation of a music band for the only purpose of writing a song. IYH also presents viewers, through the making of an exclusive documentary film, with a unique insight on a particular trait of Argentinian idiosyncrasy, linked the notion of 'passion' portrayed by soccer fans and how their behavior is replicated in rock concerts.
