The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) will get its first F-35A Lightning II aircraft in 2026. This year, all the infrastructure needed for the operation of the F-35A RCAF has begun to be built by the Canadian government. As is known, after a long debate in parliament, finally Canada will buy 88 F-35As made by Lockheed Martin, United States to replace the old CF-18 Hornet fleet. Airspace Review on December 23, 2022 reported that the Canadian government has approved funding to purchase the first batch of Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation stealth fighter jets from the United States. The Canadian Treasury Board has given the go-ahead for the Department of National Defense to spend $5.14 billion for 16 F-35As from the United States in the first batch. The Canadian Ministry of Defense explained that the F-35A has the ability to fly 2,200 km non-stop. This distance is equivalent from Cold Lake, AB to Inuvik, NWT. - - This video was made with CAMTASIA STUDIO 8 UPDATE DEFENSE members share news of military developments in the world, news from the front lines, and unique snippets of military life including military equipment specifications, we also cover the rest of the military experience and in our military equipment guide we present what makes the military unique and fun. Senior Canadian government officials are growing increasingly concerned over a dangerous escalation in aggression by Chinese fighter pilots in the skies above the Asia-Pacific region. Multiple sources in the Canadian Forces and the federal government tell Global News that Chinese jets are repeatedly “buzzing” a Canadian intelligence plane that is part of a United Nations mission over international waters. Those jets are frequently flying as close as 20 to 100 feet from the Canadian planes, sources say — so close that Canadian pilots can make eye contact with the Chinese pilots, and sometimes see them raising their middle fingers. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive information. The anticipated departure of a Royal Canadian Air Force C17 drew large crowds from far and wide (Manchester, really) at Leeds Bradford Airport on Sunday 13th as spotters eagerly awaited the moment when the military jet would finally emerge from behind the terminal. Finally, after a delay of around 3 hours, it pushed back, only to stop for another 20 or so as they refuelled. It then departed, to the delight of the parents, who were already complaining about their kids not being able to do their homework for Monday morning!
