Free Camping in Norway - Spots to Camp & Rules, Travel Guide

Wild camping is allowed in Norway for tents, caravans, and motorhomes, but you must follow a few simple rules that we will describe in this video. We will also mention useful resources and mobile applets that we use ourselves. Norway is a paradise for those who love nature and peace. You can pitch your tent or park your motorhome away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Since Norway is very expensive, wild camping is a great opportunity to save money on accommodation. Sometimes these expenses make up a significant part of your trip budget. We received many questions about the best practices for finding places for overnight stops in Norway, so we decided to make this guide. Hope this travel guide will be useful for you and if you will get any questions - write them in the comments and we will be happy to answer you! Links to our recommendations from the Video. Norway part 1! My boyfriend Marc and I left the everyday life in Sweden to go to Norway for the first time (first for me at least)! This is the start of a two week off the grid (mostly) road trip through the Norway fjords. We have NEVER done anything like this before. Free camping in nature without knowing where we'll sleep that night. Having to set up and take down a tent every day - BEING OUTDOORS FOR THIS LONG. I had really craved it. Solo Hiking & Wild Camping at Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) in Norway

Thank you to Milrab for supplying the sleeping gear and Arc'teryx for the best weatherproof clothing. This is the best hike in Norway that nearly everyone can access and have a spectacular view over Lysefjorden. Sunrise at the top is truly spectacular and worth the hike. During high season you can expect lots of people and I advise to start as early as possible to get the best hiking experience. On the hike you can find emergency shelter, and the terrain is relatively mild. The hike to the top took me around 2,5h (including filming) and the way down around 50min. The trail is well marked and safe for children making it hard to get lost. At the Preikestolen plateau there are no safeguards or wiring around the edges, so please be cautious and extremely careful. The weather conditions are constantly evolving and high winds and rain storms are to be expected at the top. Not only did Tom Cruise film Mission Impossible movie there, but Pulpit Rock or Preikestolen is one of the top landmarks and tourist attractions for people visiting Norway and was originally discovered by Peter Randulff. ⚡️ MUSIC by Artlist - Get 2 Months for Free 🤍 ⚡️ My Online Course - How to Shoot for Brands 🤍 // MY GEAR // ⚡️ Camping Gear by 🤍 ⚡️ Outerwear by 🤍 ⚡️ Brevite Camera Bag 🤍 ⚡️ Peak Design Travel Tripod 🤍 ⚡️ DJI Mavic Air 2 🤍 ⚡️ Filters 🤍 ⚡️ Røde VMP+ 🤍 ⚡️ Røde NT-USB 🤍 ⚡️ Memory Cards 🤍 ⚡️Website 🤍 ⚡️Instagram 🤍

Living in a Land Rover in Norway - 10 days in the highlands

🤍 Instagram: 🤍kasper.hoglund I'm a full time photographer living in a 2014 Land Rover Discovery 4. I have lived across the county to learn photography. I've decided to start making videos like this as well, to have a different format to show you more of my life. I got rid of my apartment several years ago. And lived the first 20 months full time in the car. I then moved back south to overhaul the 250 000 km LR. Whilst doing so I rented a small garage together with some friends. During this period I slept in the garage and in the back of a dorky looking Peugeot just to make ends meet. I've gone back to living full time in the car since late winter last year. When I'm in the city, working as a photographer I mostly use this car as a bed. I'm either working, fixing the car or spending my time doing something else. It is definitely not a "practical" car to live in. But would see myself living in a boring van either. The reason I spend so much time at work during these days down town, is to be able to do what I built this car for. Escaping into the Norwegian scenery to both capture and enjoy it all! YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT’S IN NORWAY! Van Life here is ridiculous!!

WASN’T EXPECTING TO STRUGGLE WITH THIS IN NORWAY! (Female Van Life Europe) Van life in Norway just gets more ridiculous the further north we go! There are literally waterfalls around every corner, we visit the 5th highest waterfall in Norway, take on a tough hike to a glacier, visit a glacial lake and navigate our way around using their inland ferry system. But, as amazing as it all is (and it really is) there's one thing we weren't expecting to struggle to find, especially in Norway of all places!! This country is insane, we've never been anywhere quite like it, for van life it's brilliant, probably the best country for van life we've been to so far. Wild camping is easy and there's motorhome services everywhere!! Check out our instagram for real time updates.. 🤍 Where we get our music (the link below gets you a 1 month free trial) 🤍 Hopefully you are enjoying this European travel series as much as we are and we are managing to show you just some of the stunning landscapes that Norway has to offer in this Norwegian travel vlog. As usual, we have tried to include a bit of everything, some cinematic scenery mixed with our usual female van life foolery, we always love hearing what you lot think in the comments so do let us know, and as always, thank you for watching! Follow us on our journey as we attempt to create a proper youtube travel series as we, two female travelers and vanlifers, attempt to travel across Europe in our rolling tiny home. Hit the subscribe button to see where our DIY campervan takes us next and how this van life couple copes living in a van! Have a look at emily's blog for her thoughts on all things van.. 🤍 (this is also where you will find all our park ups and list of our film making gear) For stickers go to the website or.. Make a £5.00 payment to 🤍 and just leave your name and full address in the notes, just click add note. LOFOTEN, Solo Camping & Backpacking Arctic Norway, Climbing one of most unique views in the World

Lofoten, Tent Camping & Backpacking the Arctic North, part1. The most beautiful hike in the world some people call this, it is at least one of most unique views in the World. I arrived via🤍hurtigruten in Svolvær, Lofoten a couple of days before my trip. The goal of my 3 day backpacking trip was to climb Hermannsdalstinden Pinnacle, the highest mountain in the southern part of Lofoten, in good weather so could can see the views. The night of the start it was rainy and foggy, but as the summit day arrives the weather was amazing! This is absolutely the best views I have ever experienced. I was very happy to spend time with the very nice Frauki 🤍 and Hannes Becker 🤍 and have their company on the return journey, where we took the boat back to Reine. Quite a spectacular trip, and I am so happy I found a good weather break to revisit Hermannsdalstinden. I climbed it last summer, but in clouds, so I didnt see any views last year. This year it was perfect. Enjoy the views! Part 2: 🤍 Sign up to my patreon page for exclusive videos and content 🤍 About me: My name is Jarl, and I am a Norwegian adventurer and wilderness explorer. Solo Camping, Surviving a Record Breaking Arctic Storm. Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms & Lightning ASMR

3 days Arctic Backpacking & Solo Camping in a Heavy Rain, Lightning, Severe Thunderstorms & Heavy Wind, Scariest Storm Camping experience of my life! ASMR and Rain Sounds. The closest Nordic town measured a record breaking rainfall of 36.4 mm in one hour, which is an all time high record for the northern half of the country. This happened sometime around my dinner time. This was my scariest storm camping experience so far. I was above the polar circle in the arctic at 70.5° North, alone 35 km into the wilderness, when one of the most brutal thunder and lightning storms I have ever experienced hit me. It lastet for over 12 hours and had some of the most scary thunder and lightning I have seen. It felt like I was getting hit right on the head. I did manage to capture some great footage of the lightning though. This is the furthest north and most remote place I have ever backpacked in a very wild and cool area. I obviously survived so enjoy the storm! Wild Camping in the Lofoten Islands - Norway

Lofoten is a group of islands in the northern part of Norway. With its postcard-looking small fishing villages nestled in fjords, dotting a very rugged coast with abrupt peaks rising directly from the ocean, the archipelago is often described as one of the most scenic parts of Norway. The Lofoten archipelago consists of many islands: Hinnøya (southwestern part) Austvågøy (southern part) Gimsøy Vestvågøy - Vestvågøy is a municipality and island in the county of Nordland in northern Norway. It has a population of 10,764 people, making it the most populated area in the regions of Lofoten and Vesterålen. Flakstadøy Moskenesøya Værøy - a small island around six hours from Bodo by ferry (via Moskenes) and around 2 hours by ferry from Moskenes. The island has a mountainous ridge running through the centre and flat farmland below the mountains. It is famous both for its scenery and the abundance of puffins who nest here over the summer. STAYING WARM While Winter Camping In Norway

I am out in the forests of NORWAY to spend my first night of the season camping during WINTER. It is not always easy to stay warm, and I am going through some basics on how to stay warm and dry during your winter nights. 🐺 ABOUT THIS VIDEO After some months in Germany I am back in the forests of Norway, close to Trondheim. I will find a spot to camp and show you some of the equipment and techniques I used and learned to stay warm and dry during the cold season. I am not by any means the most experienced winter camper, so if you have any tips for me or anyone else, you can leave them in the comments. Catch & Cook | Easy Bushcraft Lunch - No talking - NORWAY

Learning, listening and having fun in the Norwegian wilderness. Had a great day in the woods with a nice bushcraft lunch. A trout, a perch and bacon. The eagle scene was a memorable moment for sure. It was impossible to get a good shot of it with the camera gear I have. I'm definitely going to invest in a better lens later on to be able to capture stuff like this. The eagle was maybe 200-300 meters away from me. I really enjoy the basic nature of campfire cooking. I'm looking forward to challenging myself with more complicated bushcraft cooking in the future. Maybe a big piece of meat on a stick is the next step. With the hot and dry summer days campfire's aren't always possible though, so the big meals might have to wait a while. Please leave any feedback or suggestions in the comments! I try to improve and learn as much as possible each video. PS: I am 98% sure on the birds in this video, but please correct me in the comments if I make mistakes on bird names, pronunciations etc. I am by no means an expert on any of these things, so any help is appreciated. This is a video about winter camping in Norway, Hardangervidda. I made this video based on feedback from "Hilleberg Saitaris in Strong Winds + Epic Scenery". This video contains more shots from the hike plus no music, only ambient sounds recorded on sight. Gear you need to pack for hiking in Norway.

We have been hiking all over Norway last year and had to learn the hard way that the right hiking gear matters! Having wet feet for a whole day is not worth it! So it might be great to share some insights for you to have a great hiking experience up in the north :) In the video, I'm going over everything you might need for a day hike. So there is no sleeping/shelter gear included. That might be good for another gear review video. Remember, Norway has pretty much 4 seasons within one day so you might be carrying more than you would expect. Moving here gave me a whole new perspective on hiking in general so I hope this packing list helps you not to be surprised. Norway - Hitchhiking, Free Camping & Hiking - Preikestolen, Kjeragbolten, Trolltunga & Bergen

In late September 2016 I spent 2 weeks hiking and hitchhiking around Norway taking full advantage of the Norwegian free camping law. In total, +-80km were hiked, +-360km hitchhiked. This was my first time hitchhiking and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to travel through Norway. Yes, we did have long waits on occasion but everybody who picked us up were really friendly. We got really lucky on our longest leg when we got picked up by a German lady (who had driven from Germany) who was heading way up north to visit friends - I actually drove the whole way :) This was my first taste of Norway and I feel like I haven't even scraped the surface. I will definitely return someday, perhaps in the winter for some Northern Lights action.
