In this photography tutorial, we are taking a look at a very simple and inexpensive technique to achieve black backgrounds in your macro photos, as well as product photography, portraiture and any other genre that has a subject focus. In this tutorial, we are using a figurine as a stand-in subject, but this method will still work for full-sized portraits, still life, macro and product photography. Having a black backdrop is not always needed as you can achieve effects like these with just your settings and lighting! This style of product photography can be great for getting a more moody and edgy looking shots of your products for use on e-commerce websites and shopping platforms. Day 28 of my 30 day acrylic pour challenge - I decided to go big with a 16" x 20" (40cm x 50cm) Canvas. Well at least that's big for me. These colours are amazing on black. I choose to do a black swipe as well which turned out ok. I haven't got this technique figured out yet but plan to explore further after the challenge. I did well with my base coat. Think I'm improving with this and i think my consistancy was fairly good. The gold didn't shimmer they way I would like. I think I may need to go shopping in search of a good gold! Hi, in this new tutorial, I will show you how to remove the black background from a plastic texture and turn it into a PNG file. DOWNLOAD LINK FOR 25 TRANSPARENT PLASTIC TEXTURE: 🤍 HOW TO EDIT STEP NUMBER ONE: Open your image in Photoshop and, with the "command" or "control" button, press the right mouse button on the layer. Copy the image with command or control + C. Remember, before doing step one, you can edit your image and make it blacker. The black part will be removed, and it will become transparent, in my case I preferred not to modify it because I want to have a more realistic texture STEP NUMBER TWO: Create a layer mask and with command or control + Alt click on the layer mask with the right mouse button. Now open the mask editor, with command or control + V, paste the image and click on the image layer. It's done, you have your plastic with a transparent background. Here's a follow up to my video about black backgrounds. Photographing Black products on black backgrounds can be a real headache, because light is absorbed by black and reflected by white In actual fact if a subject is mat and pure black even with a direct light it would be difficult too see it. The real technique for photographing black products on black is by reflection. By using mirrors , silver card and other types of reflectors , we can bring out detail in a black product that we can't normally see. You will see how I use these items and play with the positioning to get the best result . I recommend constant light or studio flash for this type of work, as speed lights / speedlites are not ideal. The positioning of each reflector must be exact so without a modeling light it is virtually impossible. A simple halogen lamp from any diy store is sufficient.
