If you think that’s all you need to do for a good cardio session, then you’re wrong! Don’t: ❌ Have the seat low ❌ Light Tension ❌ Extreme Curved Back ❌ Keeping head down Do: ✅ Adjust the seat high enough that the leg can be fully extended. ✅ Back straight with minor curvature. ✅ Keep head up and chest up. ✅ Tension is high and hard. ✅ Wear bike shoes with clips Make these adjustments on the spin bike and do an actual ride for 20 - 60 mins, and you’ll feel a difference! Indoor cycling or spinning bikes are hugely popular machines both in gyms and at home. They are designed to provide the feeling of running on a conventional running bike but at home. They are ideal for a varied workout, toning the lower body and burning calories. Exercising on a spinning bike is very focused on legs, thighs and buttocks. TRANSMISSION ⛓ The transmission is the way in which the pedals are connected to the flywheel, and it completely determines the pedalling sensation. RESISTANCE AND BRAKE 🧲 There are 3 types of braking systems. - Friction braking, where brake pads rub against and exert pressure on the flywheel, making pedalling more expensive. - Magnetic, in which magnets surround the flywheel. By adjusting the proximity of the magnets to the flywheel, the resistance increases or decreases. - Electromagnetic, which works in the same way as the previous one but is regulated by electric current. It can also be programmed to change automatically during exercise. FLYWHEEL ⚙️ A key element of the inertial system that rotates the pedals, determines the effectiveness of the resistance and greatly influences pedalling comfort. In general terms, the heavier it is, the more natural and fluid the pedalling sensation will be. PEDALS 🚲 They can be clipless, mixed or toe clips. The first ones allow the shoe to be attached to the pedal, providing greater support. Mixed or automatic shoes are similar but allow you to use a wider variety of footwear. This is a Spinning Spinner Pro plus Spin bike by Star Trac. Unlike the indoor cycling bike and exercise bikes I typically review this is a commercial grade chain driven authentic spin bike. I don't have a lot of experience with chain drive exercise bikes, but there are two things I noticed about this particular spin bike right away. 1 - it makes a lot of noise compared to every other bike I've reviewed 2 - there is slack in the drive train before the pedal engages with the flywheel rotation From my research after recording this video there is supposed to be a small amount of slack in the chain, and without removing the cover on this spin bike I can't tell for sure if it needs to be tightened or not. 🤍 – (see specs only - out of stock) My channel offers honest product reviews and I post my amazon associate links and affiliate links in this section so if you want to help support my channel at no additional cost to, you can click the links in this description box and if you make a qualifying purchase I may earn a small commission. I also learned there are few possibilities for the noise this spinning bike makes: 1 - it may be the bearings making the noise and not the chain, the bearings could be worn out possibly. 2 - the chain may be mis-aligned. I also understand bike chains stretch out over time and need to be replaced eventually, I'm not sure if that's the case on this bike. Spinning Spinner Pro+ specs (according to amazon page) Flywheel mass: 41 lbs Bike weight 124 lbs The flywheel mass on this spin bike felt substantial and nice to ride. The drive train feel has a mechanical nature to it and I enjoy riding this bike. The 41 lb flywheel carried good momentum through each pedal stroke to help maintain consistent cadence both in and out of the saddle. Overall I have to say the drive train feel on this spin bike was much better then a lot of the cheap friction resistance bikes I have tested in the past. Even though this spinning bike was significantly louder than most of the bikes I have reviewed it felt great to ride.

🚨HOW TO SET UP A BIKE 🚨 🚴🏼Biking, whether that be stationary, spin or outdoor, is a great cardiovascular exercise that has multiple benefits from a physical, mental and social benefit. 🎥In this video, I go over a couple points on fitting (Not an exhaustive list, but to get you thinking). The fit of the bike will affect your performance, comfort and overall enjoyment of the riding experience. 1️⃣Seat Height - At the level of your hip joint, which is a few inches below the iliac crest (bony component) of your pelvis. At the bottom of the pedal stroke, your knee should be in a minimal amount of flexion (about 10 degrees). 2️⃣Handlebar Height - At the level of the seat height. 3️⃣Grip Position - There are multiple different ways to hold on depending on your goals (resting your forearms on the handles or palms down), however, it should be comfortable and you shouldn’t be reaching too far forward or far back. 📝There are more specific points regarding adjusting the handlebar heights and seat height forward and back as well (if your bike has this feature), that was not delved into further as these are the main points above for the novice rider.
