I go across the border to Nogales Mexico and buy rebuilt parts for my 2002 Toyota at El Cheapo's. 396,000 mi. and running as good as new.
Makes sense to me. If you are doing the work yourself. Why not use new parts.
I’m no mechanic, but my dad has been going to Advance for years. So when I started driving about 8 years ago, that’s where I went. I only need to go to the auto parts store a few times a year, but you bet I always go to Advance. I’ve never received anything but excellent treatment there, and when I have a problem, they do their best to help me solve it. I’ve always thought O’Reilly was too expensive, and just never went to AutoZone. Advance is a great store!
it is logical to think with this crisis of the economy with this green deal from go Brandon most of this chain Store soon will close you warranty will be in Heaven we see sings all ready of big Stores laying people off so wen they tell you lifetime warranty think Scotty thanks for all you do for us .
So, the alternator's vacation in Mexico didn't help it any
I use to work of AutoZone at the distribution center!! the person that pulled that alternator could have dropped it, or it could have fell out of the rack and broke. But I would agree the turn over rate is ridiculous.
Autozone is mcdonalds of autostores. 😂
I bought a new alternator, and it worked about a week, took it back and got another one and it worked about two months, got another one and installed it and it didn't work at all. I took it back and the salesman said " I don't understand why your having so much trouble with alternators, you payed extra to get a newly manufactured one". The last one has been on for two years with no problems. Just goes to show new doesn't mean good.
I've been shopping at AutoZone because it's super convenient for me and I like their loyalty program credits. Last week I went to buy front brake pads for my 2015 BMW X1. They don't stock any, but they could get a very expensive set if I wanted to order. I stopped at the local O'Reilly's - they had three different options in stock! Enjoy your videos!
Goodbye autozone. My local one is junk aswell.
went to AutoZone this past week. The guy got kinda pissed because I wanted to pay with Cash !!
In South Africa you just know you are buying crap when you visit an AutoZone
Hey Scotty! I worked for AutoZone in the Treasure Coast of Florida for 10 years as a PSM (Gray Shirt)! I've always kept my Charging/Starting Systems Checking Machine in good working order besides researching all training modules and Test every Electronic Component BEFORE closing the sale to the Customer! I agree with you from experience that Remanufactured Parts are only worth the savings 50% of the time, thus the lifetime warranty! The quick turnover of, (Red Shirts) reflects the low wages and short shifts available to younger recruites! I personally always bought the OEM Parts for every various vehicle I own, "there's no price for peace of mind!"
I had a similar issue with an alternator with a suburban I had. Apparently the computer on the vehicle will shut down the alternator with even the slightest vibration. It was a major headache but a neighbor of mine is a mechanic and was the only one who had an idea of what was going on.
Lol Scotty, customer service isn't what it was, eh? Scotty. Go figure Scott your the really deal and even you have work hard just to get thing going in the right direction, grrrr...
I don't know anything about cars but love this guy. I see him kind of as the Larry David of cars. I can also see him doing local furniture store commercials late at night and making a killing. Would love to take him car shopping with me.
Bro....folks listen do not hammer anything in a vehicle...it will snap off
The Midwest is different. Been there. I had the same experience with alternators and batteries. They only apply to the spec, not case by case. Vin numbers are Huge out there. Just a heads up. It is very specific, Limp mode gets you home, tomorrow is another day. Warranties are always honored. Just saying.
