Geneva / Switzerland is a city near the southern tip of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). At the foot of the Alps, Geneva is one of Europe's most beautiful cities. In Switzerland Geneva is also the second-most populous city (after Zürich). Geneva hosts the headquarters of Europe’s United Nations and the International Red Cross making the city also a global hub for diplomacy and banking. Wealthy tourists visit Geneva - and Switzerland in general. Our tour today starts with a view of the The Geneva Water Fountain (Jet d'Eau) which is the world's tallest water fountain and a landmark of the city. We walk a bit in the city center and later along the waterfront of Lake Geneva, visit the tiny Île Rousseau while enjoying the sunny weather. Soon we pass the the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix (double-rooms currently at around €800 per night as of October 2022). Our tour continues to head north to see the Brunswick Monument. This Neo-Gothic monument was erected in honor of the 19th-century duke and has a little park around it. For our half hour tour we speed up a bit as we walk to the central train station (Gare de Genève), where we end our video of Geneva.
