Working and spending more time at home has recently gotten me more interested in gardening and growing my own vegetables. It has also been a pretty expensive past-time given the amount of materials, soil, and water needed to upkeep and grow a garden. I looked into cheaper alternatives and started learning more about hydroponics, however, that in itself is also pretty expensive to start. I figured I could build my own hydroponics system on my own for much cheaper. This is part one of a short series where I start my very first attempt at a hydroponics garden build. If making a horizontal version of this use the square pipe more expensive but better flow the round pipe has issues with the roots blocking the pipe - I wouldnt put anymore than one plant per foot they grow so well then you find issues like your pump has pumped all the water onto the ground it only takes a min or two if its outside you have equipment and pest to worry about means netting birds love hydro lettuces tomatoes some one here has mentioned heat, in the sun light the heat can quickly get above 40'c killing the plants ' enjoy its a tinkerers hobby very area dependent
Don't put your reservoir under the pipe if you have a issue you will need to pull apart your system and when you have super nice prime looking plants any damage is soul destroying
Just FYI, a normal saw blade installed backwards on the saw will cut plastic and PVC without shattering it.
Hi Chris, I’m interested in purchasing one of these. Send details on how I can do that.
You could set the bucket into a ceramic plant pot, and cover the top of the bucket with dried Spanish moss. Put the whole thing on a heavy duty plant caster so it can be moved without effort. The ceramic pot would be heavy, and pretty.
Does this cost include the price of saws and heat gun? Can you give a materials list?
Could you tell me the measurements of the insoles?
That was great thank you very much
This looks hard to do. 😢
Thank you Chris! You are a natural in front of a camera. It is refreshing and we really enjoyed this. Can't wait for the next video!
Great video...thank you so for sharing!
Is that PVC food grade? Because in my hydroponics book it says you must use food grade pvc.
Can this be used indoors, like in a garage? I am trying to figure if I need grow lights
what a geek!
Genius idea using the heat-gun and deforming the tube rather than applying an external support.
Better if you use larger pvc column and thinner tube for the pump pipe.
Good job brother
