That video simply filled me with joy, thanks so much.
I lived in SF during the construction of both the Transamerica and B of A Headquarters buildings. They were almost universally hated at the time and many old timers still regard them as anathema.
i like to use videos like these to build citys in minecraft. keep up the good work :)
Please do Philly!!
I went to San Francisco for the first time 2 months ago and I fully agree about the beauty of the buildings and the homes. I cannot wait to return and fully take in the architecture while using this video as my guide. Very beautiful city.
I gained an appreciation for the Transamerica Pyramid, especially regarding the windows. I grew up in SF and didn't immediately like the building--until I saw the base! So it surprises me that he finds the base lacking.
I used to work in the Bank of America tower on California Street which has stunning views over he city , and to the bay.
Did they deliberately try to find a San Francisco architect who looks like the Sorpio killer from dirty Harry? 🤣🤣🤣
Why do we no longer get these beautiful civic buildings for the masses? We now get totalitarian architecture for the masses; no longer do we get beautiful works of architecture. Architectural dystopia. Dumbed down for the masses.
Loved the scene in Zodiac where we see the San Francisco skyline change
Of course, the “Painted Ladies” were not historically painted in such vibrant or even garish colors, but since they have become so iconic, there are now REQUIRED to be painted that way by historical district regulations.
Well done!
Great piece but I feel half the city left out. The Sunset, the Richmond, Saint Francis woods. many neighborhoods that have a place in SF's architecture story. I just watched a piece on NYC 25' lots and remember my 1906 Sunset bungalow a 25' lot on 12th Ave.
The way San Francisco has grown over the years, it should look a lot more like NYC. Massive skyscrapers to house the growing population. But instead the would rather have thousands of homeless people in the streets.
So cool.
❤interesting perspective of San Francisco. It's an amazing city no matter what. Now it is even more appealing.❤
Amazing how many of these buildings I've encountered and given little thought beyond how fascinating their designs are. So much history.
Wonderful! So much information, so well presented.
Wonderful. I need to return to SF.
