Will Session be Better Than Skater XL? (I think it might...) With the new Session 1.0 update right around the corner, I think it's finally time to get back into Session. There's always been a pretty heavy debate between "which skateboarding game is better?" between Skater XL and Session, and while I enjoy both games, I am curious as to which will prevail. Session's last update fixed a LOT of the previous bugs and glitches, and while it's still nowhere near perfect, Session 1.0 definitely looks promising. That's kinda weird. I guess I'll tell you a bit about myself. My name is Garrett Ginner, I like skateboarding, playing video games, and having fun. I have my main channel where I post vlogs and that kinda stuff, and I decided to start this channel because I've always had a love for playing video games. Now, I'm not actually good at any video games, so I spend a lot of my time playing action games like Skater XL, Descenders, Beam NG, Skate 3, etc. but I'm always looking for new games to play. Ok I really don't know what to type here so I'm just gonna stop. Bye now. #garrettginnergaming #gaming #session #sessionvsskaterxl
Glad they called it a skating sim, cause the "game" aspect is few and far when dealing with realistic physics.
Overall I think Session is way better (at least in vainilla, for a bunch of reasons, but what makes me come back to SkaterXL every time it’s its fluidity, it’s such a big quality, even moreso than graphics or customization.
SESSION: switch and fakie inputs actually make sense, u can do fast/low flip tricks, you can impossible and way more tricks, object dropper is better, replay editor is better, manual reverts are better, and of course better graphics, bigger maps and way more customization.
Skater XL: you can do high ollies or any trick, way less bugs, AND ITS FLUIDITY😮💨
skater xl on console gets boring so fast just due to the very limited sized maps, the limited map selection, the buggy multiplayer lobbies, the amount of character customization, etc. i could keep going for a very long time about how many cons there are to skater xl on console compared to the pros.
I felt thefrustration on that crook nollie flip when it didn’t flip😂😂😂
Skater XL > Skate 3 > Tony Hawks Proskater Series > Star Wars: The Old Republic > session
It took me like an hour to figure out how to impossible because of no tutorial lol. But I had fun fiddling yo get it.
I love that you can customize vanilla session. If the grinds and grabs were perfected. And it had a map creator I feel like it would be no contest it’s better. Imo.
I’m hoping F2P doesn’t kill skate.
I like how he just admits he's clickbaiting lol
i dont see where it's a realistic game 😐😐
I think all session needs to be better is updated animations and fluidity tbh. I think what makes the game feel so clunky is that it seems like the tricks have set animations (even though they are physics based). It just seems like they're more assisted as compared to skater xl, where it seems like the board just perfectly does what you wanted it to based on physics alone.
The one thing they're both missing is decent slam animations/physics, but I suppose realistic fall physics aren't cheap or easy to implement on smaller budgeted games.
Anyone else thinks the big spin in the first line looks weird?
I own only one of the two (Session). I know about sxl to garret's vidz. But I pick that one because the graphics matched my taste.
And, even tho mods are great, anything crowdbuild never match the dev quality. The one map modder that match the dev standards with their mods were hired by creature.
It's dope, took effort and time, but mods never make a game to my experience...
Their both shit games i played both theyre terrible fucking games
Session > XL. If you could go faster than slug speed in XL It would be much better.
I believe session could really benefit if they added a skater xl control option like they did with the skate control option
gotta wax the ledge then the tail slide will not glitch
I personally don't enjoy Session because the animation and physics just don't compare to Skater XL when it comes to realism. Even with vanilla stats, Skater Xl looks and feels way more smooth and realistic. That being said, I love seeing more skateboarding games being made, and just because one might look or feel better doesn't mean its a better game overall. As someone who grew up on Skate and Destroy, and Tony Hawks Pro Skater, I cant complain that I now have multiple choices when it comes to actual realistic skateboarding games.
