VAMPIRE ACADEMY Trailer (2022) © 2022 - Peacock
yikes. this looks 10x worse than I expected, but why am I not surprised. I actually enjoyed the movie, albeit its flaws. This…well this just looks like hot garbage 😒 and Julie Plec?? Not after her little TVD fiasco. I guess these adaptations will only ever be out for money. Way to completely butcher the character’s personalities and looks (I’m mainly missing my tall, dark, and handsome russian bc who tf is this guy they picked?)
The only people who are going to be able to enjoy this are people who haven't read the book. I absolutely despite directors who want to rip off an amazing series, pandering to the easy to please mass of youngsters who will generate the main source of revenue for this crap. I'm sorry, I just wanted good directors/ actors to create this show for the real fans of the book series, that's all.
This is not like the book at all🥴 ah another bad version of vampire academy movie
Another show with women forced in your face as the main characters.
I'm so excited! It looks so good.
This makes the movie look like a masterpiece.
Hopefully the vampires aren't all lgbqt
Seems like trash
I think it's going to be great
i am soooo upset. thats...omg. yes, let's forget that the description of races and characters in general was simply omitted. I don't see any "Moroi" here.absolutely everyone llooks like "dhampirs". Let's omit the fact that Lissa looks more like a Rose, and Rose does not look like a "teenager" at all. Dmitry periodically looks younger than the Rose.what the point taking up a good book work in order to do this in the end.
Apparently this academy doesn't offer acting lessons.
Looks shit that 🤣
Billie Eilish’s music ruined the trailer
That one girl looks and sounds like a young JLo
Good: Rose's fighting stances, Christian's fire magic, the conflict between being a guardian or a friend, Lissa visiting her parents graves, Lissa's beautiful winged mask at the end.
Bad: Rose seeming chill and friendly instead of being a chaos gremlin, Dimitri being nothing like his book counterpart, the bad glowing eye effects (what even is that? spirit magic? looks wonk af.) Biggest red flag for me is Lissa talking about being a queen and wanting to help the common people this early in the story. What the fuck? Lissa reluctantly grows into her role as a politician and heir, ultimately embracing it near the end of the series specifically so she can protect Rose for once instead of the other way around. Making her interested in social leadership roles this early on is such a huge red flag they're going to deny us that gradual development that made me so proud of Lissa in the books. Also if an actress doesn't want to dye their hair it's okay to give them a wig...Lissa and Dimitri both need wigs here, come on.
Ultimately it looks kind of low budget and like a bastardization. I'm fine with racebending characters but the core personality has to remain. The Sandman adaptation just did this beautifully, racebending several characters but still casting actors who NAILED IT. Kirby Howell Baptiste embodied death perfectly. I was excited to see a black girl play Rose but they didn't give her the direction she needed to embody her personality, Lissa seems more confident and powerful than Rose does here. I will give it a chance but my expectations are below mid.
God, Lissa's winged mask looks good though. Stylish as fuck. Love a good masquerade ball so at least we get that.
Looks like a bullshit
I'm getting a Bridgerton meets Twilight kind of vibe here.
eqMhOCDkzVc&t=0m05s 0:05 Is that Charles Gunn from Angel!!?? From vampire hunter in Angel to vampire in the Angel After the Fall comics and he’s still a vampire in this show lol. God, do I still miss Angel, all these teeny vampire stuff don’t compare
lol this is hilarious. It looks like parody.
