But recently, Master Wu has seen his business slow down as brighter-burning and more energy-efficient LED signs emerge. In addition to getting fewer requests, Hong Kong’s iconic neon landscape is also losing thousands of signs per year, ushering in the end of the city’s neon era. As Hong Kong’s neon lights start to fade, I spent some time with Master Wu at his neon shop, where he showed me how he makes neon signs, and took a look at Hong Kong’s changing cityscape. I didn’t realise neon signs were handmade out of glass :0 I wonder how the $5 neon lamps you can get off aliexpress are made
John 6: 47 "verily, verily I say unto you, he that believes in me has everlasting life."-Jesus. Jesus the Messiah died for the remission of sin, including yours, was buried, and rose form the dead 3 days later. If you simply believe in this to save you, then you have everlasting life.
I’ve always had a hatred for LED lights ever since they became a thing. Long live neon!
When I was in 6th grade I watched an old man making and made me on lights. High voltage transformer with ark and ark and ark and then it would light and he would show the gas within the tube. Hand-drawn huge sheets of paper he would heat the glass with a torch and skillfully bend it matching the drawing. I love to be able to do that. It's similar to the warmth in sound of vacuum tube audio that is lacking in the cold solid state world of LEDs and transistors. My mother's 1950 Packard had an AM radio that took a minute to warm up before it began to play this deep bass that gives you Goosebumps to listen to it and it was just warm bath sounding and AM radio. Both devices are vacuum tubes on both devices work in a similar way. Both devices stimulate the senses in a pleasing sensory overload with harmonics that make a piano sound like an orchestra, similar to the results that Auto-Tune gave Cher Bono and all that followed her. That was the 1972 when I watched the man making the lights. I don't like LED lights except on new buildings perhaps. And I like the new 40 watt LED lights that illuminates the streets now better then the 400 w high pressure sodium bulbs they replaced. 1,000 w and 1,500 w high pressure sodium lamps illuminate freeway intersections from very high up in this air. To change the bulbs and they just crank it the cable and it all comes down to the ground where they can work on it. With all the artisans gone I think that this could still be a good business idea to make these and now that we have the internet, anyone in the world potentially could be a customer.
Like oil, gas, grain and common sense, neon is now in short supply.
Why not add Russian Subtitles?..
Same thing happened to New York, such a pity.

That's too bad. I've been fascinated by neon lights ever since I was a kid
the neon always brought me back to a time ive never experienced
Another step towards cold, brightless, sterilised future.
That title track did exactly what it needed to
LED signs are nice and all but, I prefer neon signs.
