It's hilarious how they go on such a spiel about them having respect and how no one else does. That they were taught to respect their parents, their elders, etc. and yet they can't respect anyone younger than them. It's truly disgusting. Respect goes both ways. Children and people who are younger than you deserve just as much respect as your parents and elders.
I love how usually this comes from white ppl and noblack ppl of color, cause which black person who went through history is trying to go back?
While I don't like to stereotype, a majority of the arguments instigated on FB are by people of that generation.
I mean I do say “excuse me” but “pardon me?”
I was born in '82 so not a Boomer but I suppose on the line. I get nostalgia about the old days; I think everyone does but times change and even though there are things that were simpler about the past that might stand to be remembered in these more hectic times, I move along with the march of progress. I try to know what everything new is, keep myself in the loop and find out what I am or am not interested in because the last thing I want to be is some old person who gets made fun of online. Things are always going to be a mix of good and bad no matter what generation it is and will always be this way. Are there pearls of wisdom and useful skills from back in the day that are still useful now? Certainly but there's also a metric ton of useless/misinformed/racist things that we could all stand to forget.
I hate the "we had better music" because they never pick anything good. Mid 70s to Mid 80s is my favorite period of time for music but these boneheads aren't talking about The Germs, Bad Brains, or Gorilla Biscuits nor are they talking about Lori Anderson, Zappa, or even Bowie. It's always Emerson Lake and Palmer, Tom Petty or other boring crap designed specifically for the radio waves of the time. You never hear a boomer talking about Captain Beefheart but that was the cool, boundary pushing, music of the time.
I think the most second-hand embarassment I've felt in my whole life is the past couple of years when millenials have started adapting this against Gen Z. As a millennial myself. Like PLEASE STOP, I can't take it!
No amount of Gen Z kids making fun of millenials is even half as embarassing as when millenials try to defend themselves, jesus christ! They're youths, that's what they're for! This has happened every single time for every single generation probably and I knew it was gonna happen this time too but it doesn't make it less embarrassing that we all KNOW THIS and still seemingly never learn.
I do remember yesterday! Man, it was like a whole different world back then.
Old(er) people just miss being young(er). Being the old grumpy person gets them likes, reactions, and shares on social media.
You make the actually best ads.
Ah, the hose drinking days. That shit just hit different
is it just me or is the wailing on this generation for "not knowing cursive" just like...a usa experience. in my country schools still use cursive to this very day and everyone can read it. everyone i know old or young knows cursive
My parents don’t say anything like this… they say that the 70s and 80s sucked and they wish they grew up in the 90s or 2000s
Scary enough, i was on Instagram and actually saw these posts suggested in my feed...
My mom use to make me wear a 'slip' when I wore dresses as a kid. It's basically just a white, kinda sheer dress or sometimes skirt that you wear under a regular dress lol
Not gonna lie, I wear a watch all the time. I have since high school when flip phones were still a thing lol im so use to it that I'll check my watch before I check my phone
Watching this video caused the front part of my phone to shatter into one pieces
