The world of China’s President Xi Jinping | DW Documentary

President Xi Jinping wants to establish the People's Republic of China as the leading world power of tomorrow. Never before has China been so successful and pursued such ambitious goals. And never before has China so upset the global political balance. The person largely responsible for China‘s dramatic shift is the President of the People's Republic, Xi Jinping. As the key figure in Chinese politics, he has steered the communist country with sober pragmatism and calculation since 2013. In terms of domestic policy, Xi strives for the "perfect dictatorship." When it comes to foreign policy, he wants to rewrite the international rules. What are the goals of this mysterious autocrat, who was deeply influenced by Maoism in his youth? What motivates him? This documentary traces the rise of the Chinese president, and tries to answer the question of what his political plans for the future might look like. The Chinese president’s friendly demeanor should not obscure the fact that Xi Jinping is willing to do anything to fulfill the mission of his Communist Party: To make China the leading economic and military power by 2049, the 100th birthday of the People's Republic. In 2017, following extensive political purges, Beijing paved the way for Xi Jinping to be "president for life". His rallying cry is the "Chinese Dream," an ideology with nationalist overtones. Those who don't toe the line end up in prison and must publicly apologize. What’s more, a new electronic monitoring system is being implemented - to distinguish between good and bad citizens. On the international stage, Xi Jinping is trying to establish a new social order that is worrying for Western democracies. This documentary on President Xi Jinping is the first of its kind. A People's Liberation Army officer close to the halls of power, a Beijing historian, several regime critics, a former US ambassador to China and several biographers attempt to decipher Xi Jinping‘s uncompromising strategy. #documentary #dwdocumentary DW Documentary gives you knowledge beyond the headlines. How did Chinese President Xi Jinping rise to power? - BBC News

China's ruling Communist Party is expected to hand a third five-year term to Xi Jinping. The historic move is due at a Communist Party Congress in Beijing beginning on 16 October - one of the most important meetings in the party's history. The decision - which comes after a two-term limit was abolished in 2018 - would further tighten his grip on China. It is possible that the 69-year-old president, who is arguably the most powerful Chinese leader since Mao Zedong in the 1970s, will remain in power for the rest of his life. Xi Jinping and Justin Trudeau clash over media transparency during G20 summit talks

Chinese President Xi Jinping dressed down Justin Trudeau for allegedly leaking details of their private meeting to the press, in a remarkable exchange caught on camera at the G20 summit. The two leaders met on Tuesday for the first time in three years, when according to reports, Mr Trudeau raised “serious concerns” over Chinese “interference activities” in Canada, including possible election tampering. Within hours, details of the ten-minute conversation, which also included discussions on North Korea and the war in Ukraine, were credited to “a government source” and appeared on Agence France-Presse, an international news agency. On Wednesday morning, Mr Xi confronted Mr Trudeau at the end of the summit in Bali, Indonesia and told him through a translator: “Everything we discussed has been leaked to the paper. KLARE KANTE: Xi Jinping machtlos - Biden lässt China-Ballon vom Himmel holen

#dwdocumental #documental ـــــ

Xi Jinping's expansionist ambitions in Afghanistan hindered; ISIS-K targets Chinese projects

Escalating threats from ISIS-K are casting doubts on the future of China's investments in Afghanistan. Repeated attacks on Chinese projects are also a kind of retaliation against the 'inhuman treatment' of the Muslim Uyghurs in China. These attacks are hindering Beijing's interests in the Taliban-ruled country. A volatile and unstable Afghanistan threatens China's expansionary dreams in the country. Xi Meets Dutch PM Rutte

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Bali, Indonesia, on Tuesday afternoon. Xi pointed out that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ambassadorial diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands. The bilateral relationship is presented with a new prospect of development. The most valuable experience of the China-Netherlands relationship is that it is open and practical, he said, adding that the two sides should continue to push for new progress in their open and practical comprehensive cooperative partnership. It is important to uphold mutual benefit, advance cooperation in such fields as agriculture, water management and energy, and achieve greater progress in the open and pragmatic partnership for comprehensive cooperation between China and the Netherlands, Xi said. Xi underscored that the world is a community where all countries need to cooperate with rather than “decouple” from one another. The attempt to politicize economic and trade issues must be rejected, and stability of global industrial and supply chains should be maintained. China stands ready to work with the Netherlands to uphold and practice true multilateralism, stick to the right direction of economic globalization, safeguard the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core and jointly create an international environment conducive to development, Xi stressed. It is hoped that the Netherlands would enhance Europe’s commitment to openness and cooperation, and play a positive role in promoting the healthy and steady growth of China-Europe relations, Xi said. Rutte said he was glad to meet Xi again in the special year of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ambassadorial diplomatic relations between the Netherlands and China. The Netherlands is ready to work with China to bear in mind the bigger picture, tap their potential, expand dialogue and cooperation in such areas as innovation and climate change, and push for greater achievements in bilateral relations in the next 50 years, Rutte said. 🤍 Welcome to subscribe us on: Facebook: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 LinkedIn: 🤍 Video on Demand: 🤍cctvplus.com If you are in demand of this video footage, please contact with our business development team via email: service🤍cctvplus.com

China: Xi Jinping passes constitution amendment as Hu Jintao escorted out

The Chinese president, XI Jinping, has cemented his grip over the Communist party by passing an amendment that will enshrine his ideas and status in the party's constitution. Subscribe to Guardian News on YouTube ► 🤍 The move by Xi elevates his status in the party which is expected to hand him a mandate for a precedent-breaking third term as president. He closed the congress with a call to the people of China to remain confident in their 'history, exhibit greater historical initiative, and have the courage to fight and the mettle to win'. During the congress, former leader Hu Jintao was also unexpectedly escorted out of Beijing’s Great Hall of the People. Hu, who preceded Xi, sat next to him throughout the ceremony until he was reluctantly pulled away. He appeared to want to squeeze in a last word with Xi before he tapped outgoing premier Li Keqiang and left the hall. His departure has not been explained.
