This is Kampala, Uganda (No Talking). In this video you can feel and see what it's like to walk through central Kampala. Kampala is the biggest city and the capital of Uganda. I being my journey from the outskirts of Kampala and ride into central Kampala on a motorcycle taxi. We can see the streets getting busier and busier as we approach central Kampala. After arriving I begin walking through a shopping area. Shopping areas are very unique in Uganda. They are a bit disorganized but this is central Kampala where everyone comes to buy things they need. Eventually I find my way to the taxi park where there is an expansive view of thousands of shuttle vans that will take you to all reaches of Uganda. After this I stop on some streets to get some very still and clear footage of the hustle and bustle of the streets here in central Kampala. I also show a nice lunch I had of traditional Ugandan food. It was delicious and cheap. From the restaurant there was an amazing bird's eye view of central Kampala. After some more time exploring I got on a motorcycle taxi which took me through the busy areas of Kampala and then onward to my village which is far away from the city. 0:00 My journey from the outskirts of Kampala into the center of the city 3:38 Arrival in central Kampala and my walk around starts 5:10 Walking down a street in central Kampala 5:46 A busy chaotic intersection 6:30 Walking down dirt roads in central Kampala 8:50 Thousands of shuttle vans, the hub of transportation 9:39 Standstill view of sidewalk packed with people and interesting shops 10:24 A glimpse of traditional Ugandan food I had for lunch 10:53 Amazing bird's eye view of central Kampala 15:37 Riding a motorcycle through central Kampala 17:47 A quiet place near Lake Victoria outside of central Kampala I love writing music. Millions of students in Uganda have been sent home from school two weeks before the end of term to try and curb the spread of Ebola. In the past two months, 55 people have died with the virus, including eight students in the capital Kampala. Schools had already put in place strict anti-Ebola measures, including temperature screening, regular handwashing and disinfecting surfaces. However critics say closing schools is at odds with the government's official stance that everything is under control, and that the numbers are stabilising. Please subscribe HERE 🤍 #Uganda #BBCNews

Hello Displorers, welcome back to another informative video, presented by Displore, As you all know, it’s always a pleasure presenting to you some interesting but lesser known facts about the beautiful countries on the African continent. Today we are excited to present to you some lesser known facts about the beautiful country of Uganda. Officially refered to as the Republic of Uganda, Uganda is a landlocked country located in the East-Central part of Africa, It is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the south-west by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania. Uganda is relatively small compared to Kenya, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. It ranks 33rd in terms of area in Africa and 10th in population. As of 2019, the population was estimated at 44 million, six million less than Kenya, which is twice as large in size. Uganda is a country rich in history and full of lush natural beauty from border to border. However, it often falls under travelers’ radar due to past political conflicts, and the relative difficulty of getting there. But that doesn’t mean there’s not plenty to discover about this east African country If you are new here, welcome, be sure to subscribe and turn on notification so you don’t miss any of our videos The capital city of Uganda is kampala and English and Swahili are the official languages of the country. I bet if you were asked which countries were the most entrepreneurial in the world you would probably say, China, the United states or even Great Britain, Well sorry to disappoint you, the most Entrepreneurial country in the world is actually Uganda. Uganda, whose economy was devastated by dictatorship a few decades ago, now has the planet's highest proportion of people who have started their own businesses. 28 per cent of its adult population in Uganda started businesses in the last 42 months, which is almost twice as high as any other country in the world. Thailand comes in second place with 16.7 per cent, and Brazil in third with 13.8 per cent. Uganda's success, the report claims, is the result of a huge improvement in communication networks recently, which have linked up different parts of the country and connected it to the rest of the world. In general, developing nations came highest on the list of 73 countries. Of all the developed countries, Australia ranked highest in 29th place, followed by Canada in 30th place. 2. Uganda has the Second Youngest Population in the world According to the latest World population review, Uganda has the second youngest population in the world right after Niger with 55% of its population below the age of 15 years with a life expectancy of 58 years old. The young population is also accredited to high fertility rates seeing as of 2017, the average female gives birth to 6 children. Also early marriage and lack of family planning is also responsible for the rate birth rate in the country. Uganda is one of the poorest in the world due to the hign dependency rate of the population given the fact that it consist mainly of minors who cannot fend for themselves. Although the Ugandan government is trying to reduce birth rate in the country, their efforts seems abortive. 3. Yoweri Museveni has been the president of Uganda for more than 3 decades Uganda has been ruled by President Yoweri Museveni for the past 33 years and from the look of things, he is unlikely to step down anytime soon. Museveni rose to power in 1986 after overthrowing Tito Okello in a military coup. Since then, Uganda has remained politically stable except for the Lord Resistance Army that operates in the jungles of Uganda and the DRC. For the same period, the United States has had six presidents. Museveni rules Uganda with an iron fist and crushes anyone who opposes his regime, though he is not considered a dictator. 5. Uganda is home to the world second Fresh water lake Lake Victoria is one of the African Great Lakes. The lake was renamed Lake Victoria after Queen Victoria by the explorer John Hanning Speke, in his reports—the first Briton to document it. Ugandans are the hardest drinking Africans in the motherland, both in terms of per capita consumption and the hooch they choose to chug. Waregi, or "war gin," is what they call the local moonshine, and it makes the harshest Appalachian rotgut taste like freaking Bailey's. Katanga Slum, Uganda (When you see this . . .) Today I went to visit, film and document Katanga Slum, a well known slum in Kampala, Uganda. Even before I arrived in Katanga Slum the scenery was amazing as we snaked our way through the crowds of workers, pedestrians vendors and automobiles all fighting for space on the bustling streets of the city. As soon as I got to Katanga slum a large family wanted to talk to me. This drew a lot of interest from the surrounding people and many more people wanted to be filmed and share their thoughts and feelings with the world. I thought they all had a unique perspective. Katanga Slum is an interesting place which presents an interesting set of challenges for anyone living there. After chatting with some people some local kids guided us through Katanga slum. It's like walking through a maze if you've never been there before. The narrow pathways were lined with shanties and improvised structures that served as these people's homes. Despite how appalling these living conditions look, the people were very welcoming and kind and were very eager to talk and share their stories on camera. I was really touched by the humbleness and gentle nature of the people of Katanga Slum.
