Researchers Just Announced They Discovered Something In Siberia That Cannot Be Explained

Siberia, located to the east of Russia's Ural Mountains, is a fascinating area for many reasons. Siberia is famous for its severe winters and extensive terrain. In fact, if Siberia were its own country, it would be the world's largest by land area. Siberia covers over 13 million square kilometers or 5.1 million square miles, accounting for three-quarters of all Russian territory and nearly ten percent of the earth's total surface. However, Siberia accounts for just 23% of the overall population of the vast country, with the remainder huddled in the white area symbolizing the rest of Russia! However, the low population is not the only weird aspect of Siberia; many strange occurrences occur in that vast and freezing country! In addition to ancient viruses, researchers have discovered craters that formed for unknown reasons. In this video, we show the horrifying discoveries made by scientists in Siberia! Siberia is a land of opposites, and while the region is known with extremely frigid temperatures, the weather does not remain cold all year. During the Siberian winter, temperatures can drop to -94 degrees Fahrenheit or -70 degrees Celsius. Summers in Siberia, on the other hand, are warm, with some sections reaching highs of 95 degrees Fahrenheit or 35 degrees Celsius. This weather is caused by the area's continental climate, which has chilly winters and pleasant summers. How long have people been present in Siberia? Surprisingly, people have populated Siberia for up to 125 000 years. In the Altai Mountains of Siberia, archaeologists uncovered a human bone belonging to a hybrid, the Denisovan and neanderthal. Indigenous communities such as the Nivkhi, Evenki, and Buryat have long lived in Siberian areas.

Tour of the Arctic (1/2) – from Svalbard to Siberia | DW Documentary

The Arctic is one of the most fascinating regions on our planet, and one of the most threatened. Two film crews explore its spectacular wilderness in a two-part documentary. Part one takes viewers from Norway’s Svalbard archipelago to Siberia. The region around the North Pole is one of the greatest and least-known wildernesses in the world, and it’s rapidly changing due to global warming. The retreat of Arctic sea ice can be observed everywhere along the Arctic Circle, presenting those who live there with dramatic changes. This documentary takes viewers on a journey through the Arctic circle and explores those changes. It begins in Norway’s Svalbard archipelago, a place to see one of nature’s most spectacular displays — the northern lights. With the ice retreating, cruise ships can now travel further north than was previously possible. This places a strain on the fragile ecosystem. But more visitors may also mean more awareness about the risks that face the region, and more motivation to protect the Arctic. But as if often the case, protecting nature in the Arctic is at odds with economic interests. Russia, in particular, is keen to sell Arctic fossil fuels to the rest of world. The film next takes viewers to the gas-rich Yamal Peninsula in northwestern Siberia, where the Russian company Novatek has built the northernmost industrial facility on the globe. Further East in Yakutia, two noises fill the air: the relentless buzzing of mosquitoes that infest the Siberian tundra in summer, and the steady dripping of the thawing permafrost on the banks of the Kolyma River. The film’s journey ends in Chukotka in the northeast of Russia, a region closer to Alaska than to the Russian capital Moscow. - DW Documentary gives you knowledge beyond the headlines. Visiting the COLDEST CITY in the World (-71°C, -96°F) YAKUTSK / YAKUTIA

If you want to give me budget support ► 🤍 I'm in the coldest city on the planet; Yakutsk, which is in Yakutia / Siberia / Russia. The lowest air temperature ever recorded here is -96°F (-71°C) (SECOND VIDEO) 8 Crazy Ice Experiments at -55°C, -67°F 🤍 The coldest town is Oymyakon, which is also in Yakutia, Siberia. This region is also called Sakha Republic and it is affiliated to Russia. Watch my other videos: KiIIed for Bringing Bad Luck: Secret Albino Village in Africa (Too White to Live) 🤍 94 Year Old Blind Man Wants To See for the First Time 🤍 Attending a Ritual in Tanzania 🤍 Watch my entire Yakutsk videos: 🤍 You might have heard that Minnesota, Michigan or North Dakota are very cold in the Winter. But Yakutsk is a whole different story. This is not Alaska too. Lately, I’ve been watching solo camping in winter videos and I encourage Xander Budnick, Mav, Steve Wallis, Wargeh Bushcraft, Upnorthof60, Asbjorn Olsen-Berg Bushcraft channels to come to Yakutsk in Winter and make a camping survival video. Here are the links to my favorites: 3 Days Solo Winter Camping - deep snow, no tent, below -20°C 🤍 Truck Camping in -19 degrees 🤍 Ice Camping for the Biggest Trout of my Life 🤍 U-Haul Stealth Camping In -35 Degrees 🤍 Tent Inside Tent Winter Camping 🤍 But they should be aware of blizzards, snow storms and heavy rains. Winter camping is hard here, even harder than the cold weather of Ontario, Canada. A night camping in the middle of a blizzard is no joke, so does ice camping. Luckily there are a lot of fish to catch in extreme cold temperatures. Flights from Los Angeles to Yakutsk is about 30 hours and a one way ticket costs around 1000 American Dollars. There were no flights from New York City in the Winter. Fortunately, hotel fares were cheap and affordable in Siberia. Second episode of Rediscovery will be coming very soon. Subscribe for more: 🤍

-71 Degrees in Yakutie Siberia.. Coldest village on Earth

-71 Degrees in Yakutie Siberia.. Coldest village on Earth this video taken this late January , in Yakutie Siberia, shows the Life of peoples in the capital City Yakutsk, then driving 1000km to Omyakhon the village where minus 71 Celsius was extreme place for sure but peoples live a normal Life also.... Oymyakon, in Siberia, holds the record for being the coldest permanently inhabited place on earth. The village, which sits 217 miles (350 km) below the Arctic Circle, is home to more than 210,000 people, despite its ground being in a constant state of permafrost. Siberian air is generally colder than Arctic air, because unlike Arctic air which forms over the sea ice around the North Pole, Siberian air forms over the cold tundra of Siberia, which does not radiate heat the same way the ice of the Arctic does. Oymyakon has two main valleys beside it. These valleys trap wind inside the town and create the colder climate. The temperatures here are extremely cold throughout the year, and it snows frequently. Schools are closed if it is colder than −55.0 °C (−67.0 °F). Yes, it's not much for such a giant land. There are two reasons: economical and psychological. Economical reason is that Kremlin is not interested in development of Siberia - it's not interesting in anything but pumping money and wasting it on anything besides those who work in regions to get these money. Still, 36 million people live there, and all on an area bigger than the United States! There were times when gold prospectors headed to Siberia and then exiles from all over the country were sent there. Those times have passed, but people still live in Siberia. Although Russian today is the dominant language in virtually every corner of North Asia, Siberia and the Northern Pacific Rim of Asia remain home to over three dozen mutually unintelligible indigenous language varieties. Riding on the Trans-Siberian Train has been a bucket list adventure for me for as long as I can remember (8 years?). The train starts in Moscow and then travels 10,000 kilometers Eastbound across Siberia until it ends in Vladivostok. I was lucky enough to catch Trans-Siberian train for a 30-hour leg – from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk – and it was one of the wildest travel experiences of my life. Even in the middle of winter, where temperatures were around -30C, I couldn’t believe how scenic the views were out the window. It felt like a dream! On the Trans-Siberian train, I met two incredible characters – Gregory (the train conductor) and Sacha (the drunk passenger) who I shared the entire experience with. I will never forget this train ride. It was the journey of a lifetime, and I can’t wait to (hopefully) finish the rest of the adventure someday soon. Siberia is truly a remarkable place. Siberian Cult Leader Thinks He's Jesus

Like VICE News? Subscribe to our news channel: 🤍 Deep in Siberia's Taiga forest is Vissarion, a cult leader who looks like Jesus and claims to be the voice of God. He's known as "the Teacher" to his 4,000 followers, who initially seem surprisingly normal. Over time, however, their unflinching belief in UFOs and the Earth's imminent demise made this group start to look more and more like some sort of strange cult. The BAM: Russia's Unknown Trans-Siberian Train🇷🇺

🇷🇺 We have all heard of the Trans-Siberian, Russia's mega train journey that crosses Siberia as it skirts the Chinese border. But few have heard of the even more impressive B.A.M ( Baikal Amur Mainline ) which passes through virgin forest in the middle of Siberia. Built in the 1970s by young communists, the BAM is the greatest construction project of the 20th Century. And yet it is unknown in the West. I decided to go and ride this unknown journey across northern Siberia and speak to the people who came to build it. Join me as we ride 'The Bam'! Most Dangerous Transports: Siberian Ice Road | Mega Transports | Free Documentary

A Mega Transport on one of the most dangerous roads in the world – the Siberian Ice Road. It doesn't forgive mistakes. It's treacherous. And unpredictable. A life-threatening adversary that has left many fractured and broken. The Kolymar mountain range in eastern Russia - an inhospitable frozen landscape. With temperatures as low as fifty degrees below. Only in winter, when the snow buries the underlying mudflats, is this region accessible at all – over the Ice Road. One of the biggest businesses in the area involves transports to gold mines! Sometimes what they need is a colossal machine-like Komatsu D four hundred and seventy-five A. It's one of the biggest bulldozers in the world. It weighs in at a hefty eighty-six tons – far more than the world’s heaviest tank. The mega transport route leads from the Russian Magadan through the tundra of Siberia for a total of one thousand kilometers. Over snow-covered mountain passes, temporary bridges and unpaved ice roads. There the truckers are on their own. Spare lines, workshops, rescue services of any kind – you won’t find any of these on the Ice Road! In order to reach the destination in time, the men will drive most of the way without breaks. Day and night. The mine is basically still "hibernating." But in a few days, this year's digging will begin. And, if the transport and bulldozer don't make it there in time, the mine could lose an estimated ton of gold this season! For the drivers an icy, brutal battle: "Man against Nature’s cold heart". Strangest Things Found In Siberia

Strangest Things Found In Siberia ► Subscribe: 🤍 Siberia is huge, making up 77% of Russia, but it’s only 23% populated. In these places completely uninhabited, strange things have been discovered, and many mysterious and unexplained things have happened, like the Tunguska Event. But scientists discovered something astonishing not long ago; a prehistoric virus that’s been sleeping beneath the ice for millions of years, and even stranger; massive craters are now mysteriously appearing across the frozen Siberian tundra. What have scientists’ found, and should we be worried about these new discoveries?

Warmest Tent on Earth - Pitching in the Siberian Arctic Winter - Ненецкая палатка чум

The Nenet reindeer herders need to move their tent every few days throughout most of the year. Every time they migrate they must pack the whole tent away, drag it across the tundra on sledges, and erect it again in a fresh place, sometimes in temperatures of minus thirty degrees. Survival depends on working together as a team. After staying in the wooded taiga for two months they start to migrate north following the ancient paths of migrating reindeer (caribou). In four months they will travel up to 1200km and must pack and move every three to five days to keep up with their herd. They must reach their summer quarters before the snows melt and flood great rivers with icy waters too cold and deep for the calves, born along the way, to cross. Behind the tent an invisible line extends out into the tundra. It is called the sawei line, and a woman cannot cross it. It will bring bad luck to the tent. It was hard for them to explain exactly why, it is much stronger than a superstition and is connected to the spirit pole that stands at the back of the tent. This pole is sacred and a woman cannot cross underneath it either, and only a shaman may sit in this holy place. The origins of this are a little lost, there may be practical reasons, for example the back of the tent is traditionally where the men work, often together, so they have to be able to move about freely, but there are often two families in a single tent, so maybe one day the women just agreed territories to stop tripping over each other. Maybe it has such a mundane origin, or maybe there are real spirits that come up to the tent from behind and would bring harm to any women caught in the wrong place. If several tents pitch together, their lines must not cross either, so they tend to camp in a straight line to avoid this. In answer to the many questions - on personal hygiene, everyone washes using a bowl of soap and hot water, just like most of our grandparents did before everyone had pipes and taps. There is no toilet in the tent as some have suggested, they find a spot a few hundred metres away. They are not pitching on a lake but a small mound where the snow blows a little thinner, Gas companies have been in the area and gave away snowmobiles as part of land access negotiations. Also sometimes there are competitions with them as prizes, sometimes they sell a load of reindeer and buy one. Most families now have at least one but the reindeer are still used a lot. Yes, they use a sled to go to town, or trading posts to buy groceries. I wanted to catch the entire process, but have edited it down a little from the 40-45 minutes it takes to get from the open snows to a warm cosy home.
