CBT, Reduce Anxiety with Exposure Therapy

In CBT we use exposure therapy to treat anxiety. Avoidance increases anxiety, while exposure reduces anxiety. With exposure therapy, as we gradually expose ourselves to the things that cause us anxiety, our anxiety begins to decrease. I feel this is an important topic which is not getting the attention it deserves in our high-tech, constantly-connected, powered-up world. Let’s discuss what EMFs are and how to reduce your exposure to them on a daily basis, whether in your home, your office, or in your pocket (are you ever without your cell phone?). There are two sources of electromagnetic field exposure. 1:  Electric fields, which include anything that is electric and has a voltage. Examples are cell phones, WiFi, electrical outlets, and all appliances. 2: Magnetic fields which include anything that has an electric motor, such as a refrigerator, power meter outside your house and yes, ladies - your hair dryers! They are actually one of the worst offenders. Want to learn more about Gut Health? How to Reduce EMF Exposure (And Why You Want to)

🤍 🔅 ➜ Get my free cheat sheet on how to reduce EMF exposure 🤍 ➜ Save 10% with code mamanatural at 🤍 What are EMFs? EMFs, or electromagnetic fields, are invisible areas of energy or lines of force that emanate from matter. Our bodies have electric and magnetic fields that are associated with our nervous and muscular systems. The Earth also has a natural magnetic field and there are electric fields in the atmosphere. But, usually when we refer to EMF exposure and health risks, we are talking about the electric-magnetic fields that come from our electrical devices. This kind of EMF exposure comes from our phones, our cars, power lines, laptops, cellphone towers, wifi, and even our blenders and toaster ovens! They’ve been kinda under the radar up until the last decade or so because they weren’t as prevalent. But, now, it’s a whole different ballgame. We can get a Wi-Fi signal just about anywhere, and so many of us walk around with multiple personal EMF devices like cell phones, smart phones, and laptop computers. People are starting to take notice to this potential health issue. Are EMFs dangerous? This is the 10,000 dollar question. Unfortunately, there aren’t a ton of conclusive studies on this topic, which is a shame because we are literally bombarded with them daily. Most of us live in a home with our Wi-Fi on 24/7, a smart meter attached to the outside of our living room wall, and sleep with our iPhone by our heads. Our children play with our cell phones or use electronics to learn and play. This EMF-infused technology has become a way of life for many of us. But, we need to be careful. There is a growing body of scientific evidence showing that too much EMF exposure can be harmful to our health. So much so that the World Health Organization classified EMFs as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” back in 2011. This was after a series of studies showed a soft correlation between EMFs and a type of brain cancer. Scary stuff?! We are essentially undergoing a great experiment that no other civilization has ever faced. We’re exposed to 100 million times greater artificial EMF radiation than our grandparents, and that exposure grows each year. If you think about it, we are made up of electrons ourselves and it makes sense that too much these non-native electrical forces (from our electronic devices) could interfere with our body’s homeostasis. Symptoms of too much EMF exposure Chronic headaches Excessive fatigue Feeling of stress or ‘wired’ Trouble sleeping soundly through the night Tingling, burning or prickling skin sensations A buzzing or static feeling in brain Ringing ears Unexplained rashes or hives Body pain Weaken immunity 🤍 THANK YOU FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBING! ❤️❤️❤️ Genevieve Howland, aka Mama Natural Bestselling author of The Mama Natural Week-by-Week Guide to Pregnancy & Childbirth ➡️ 🤍 Co-Founder of 🤍 FB: 🤍 IG: 🤍 Pin: 🤍

Noise exposure

Construction workers are continuously exposed to noise from tools, equipment and machinery. In addition to causing hearing problems, noise reduces concentration and increases stress, irritability, fatigue, and the risk of accidents. Exposure to very loud noise can result in temporary hearing loss. It’s unpleasant, but your hearing can go back to what it was before. But continuous noise exposure, little by little and over time, results in irreparable hearing damage. Beware of noise exposure, as occupational deafness can sneak up on you.

Is sunlight useful for jaundice? Does exposure to sunlight help reduce jaundice? Dr Sridhar K

Neonatal jaundice is one of the most important topics in neonatal practice. In this short video, I discuss whether exposure to sunlight has any role in management of neonatal jaundice. To summarize-it is better if we don't encourage sunlight exposure as a treatment for jaundice. If the family insists, we should give advice-through window is okay (UV filtration won't affect), adequate temperature care, and clear instructions that this will not substitute for appropriate follow up to ensure jaundice levels are stable. #bilirubin #neonataljaundice #sunlight

Reducing radiation exposure at dentist

A new technology has been created to reduce your risk of radiation exposure at your dentist office. Now a Stratford Dentist is taking radiation safety one step further.

Measures to reduce radiation exposure during interventional procedures

Important measures to reduce radiation exposure include: Lower the rate of fluoroscopy Minimize the use of cinefluoroscopy which has 10 times higher radiation dose Proper use of collimation Maximize the distance between the operator and X-ray source Doubling the distance reduces exposure to one fourth Avoid left anterior oblique projection which gives maximum scatter radiation to operators These measures are in addition to routine precautions of using lead apron, thyroid shield, lead glasses, radiation protection caps and if available, lead shields for the legs. Hanging lead shields protect scatter from the image intensifier. Lead shields below the table reduces radiation from the X-ray source. Personal dosimeters should always be used and real time dosimeters if available.

Cell Phone Radiation: 10 Ways to Reduce Your Exposure

🤍 🔅 🤍 What do YOU think? Will the WHO announcement change the way you use your cellphone? The World Health Organization just came out and said cell phones may cause cancer, listing them in the same category as lead, engine exhaust, and chloroform. Now, the jury is still out on whether cellphones pose a serious risk. But we do know that they emit radiation, which ain't a good thing. Here are the top 10 ways to reduce your exposure. 1. Use speakerphone or a headset Speakerphone is ideal. Using a headset is better than holding the phone against your face. But radiation still passes through both bluetooth and wired earpieces. A safer option is an "air tube" earpiece. Instead of using a radiation-conducting wire all the way from phone to brain, these sets deliver sound through a tube. 2. Carry the phone away from your body The best way to avoid exposure is to hold the cellphone away from the head or body. Carry your phone in your bag, purse, in a wagon - anywhere except in your pocket or on your belt where soft body tissues can absorb radiation. 3. Texting is better than talking When you text, your phone only needs to ping the cellphone tower for a moment as opposed to a 15 minute phone conversation. Besides, who doesn't prefer a txt over the dreaded voicemail? 4. Don't call when signal is one bar or less Fewer bars on your phone mean that it works harder and emits more radiation to get the signal to the tower. Make calls when your signal is strong. 5. Wait for the call to connect before putting it to your ear cell phones emit the most radiation when they are attempting to connect to cellular towers. 6. keep kids off the phone Children's developing brains and tissues are thought to be most vulnerable to cellphone radiation. Health authorities in Britain, France, Germany and Russia have all issued warnings against allowing small children to use cellphones for extended periods, if at all. 7. Talk less! In our age of distraction, sometimes it's nice to just unplug. 8. Hang up when you buckle up This one is a blow to me, because I love talking on the phone when I drive. But when you're in a moving vehicle like a car or train, your phone repeatedly issues little bursts of radiation to connect with towers as it moves in and out of range. 9. Purchase a phone with a low SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) In other words, a low radiation cell phone. My beloved iPhone doesn't make the cut, but I think we'll see many more options in the future. Here's CNET's guide to the 20 lowest-radiation cell phones 🤍 10. Use a land line. Old school, I know. But this is by far the safest way to talk on the phone. I don't know about you, but I'm kind of nostalgic for the days when there was just one family phone. Pregnant?
