Dash cam video shows how lucky this police officer is to be alive. A person driving a truck struck the side of a Willoughby police cruiser on Christmas Day. According to the Willoughby Police Department, a Willoughby officer was assisting a motorist on SR2 eastbound (east of Lost Nation Rd.) who was involved in a single-car accident due to adverse road conditions at about 11:16 a.m. on Sunday. While the officer was standing outside near the motorist’s vehicle observing on-coming traffic, he could see an out-of-control motorist/vehicle coming toward him. The officer proceeded to jump on the median wall for safety as the out-of-control vehicle, a 2001 Toyota Tundra truck, struck the passenger side of marked Unit 816. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage as a result of the incident. Neither the officer nor the 63-year-old operator of the truck were injured as a result of the incident. The operator of the vehicle was cited for Failure To Control and was issued a court date. Authorities say a police chase ended with the arrest of a fugitive wanted in Wisconsin who was spotted in Ohio. The Toledo Police Department in Ohio said they received a tip that the fugitive, Robert Johnson, was in the area. Authorities say an apparent theft incident escalated into a high-speed chase with three suspects that resulted in collisions and gunfire on August 1 in Oklahoma. The Sand Springs Police Department said the chase began when officers responded to a theft call at a Tractor supply store and the suspects allegedly fled. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol engaged when the chase continued onto a state highway. Pursuing officers performed a tactical vehicle intervention causing the suspect's vehicle to spin out. An officer fired a shot at the suspect's vehicle when the driver allegedly crashed into another officer's vehicle in an attempt to get away. Police say the suspects managed to escape and later hid in the woods after abandoning their vehicle. * (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Pasadena, California — On July 30, 2022, The Monrovia Police Department advised Pasadena Police Dispatch, they were pursuing a vehicle that had been carjacked in the City of Pasadena on July 29, 2022. The suspect, 35-year-old Adam Youines was armed with a handgun during the commission of the crime and it was believed Youines was potentially still armed with the handgun. After approximately 18 minutes of pursuing the vehicle, Monrovia PD relinquished the primary responsibilities of the pursuit to the Pasadena Police Department. The Pasadena PD pursued the vehicle throughout various areas of the city before Youines pulled into a small shopping center in the 600 block of N. Lake Ave. After several minutes of negotiating with Youines to surrender peacefully, Youines was shot and killed by Pasadena police, as the minivan moved forward. (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) A wanted man out from Elberta led police on a 12-minute chase Friday, reaching speeds of 90 miles per hour before being caught in Foley. The suspect cut through a trailer park, a neighborhood and several business parking lots in Foley before being stopped. Authorities have released dash-cam video of the chase. It started at a home on Old Foley Highway in Elberta and ended in the McDonald’s parking lot in Foley 12 minutes later. Elberta Police were already at the home to serve an arrest warrant on 46 year-old Charles William Moore when Moore pulled in and saw an officer. “He got into the tree line, got back out and come onto the road. David called it in and I happened to be close by and he headed towards 98 on Old Foley Road at a high rate of speed,” said Elberta Police Chief, Stan DeVane. DeVane caught up with Moore on Highway 98 near the Foley Beach Express. For the next 12 minutes, dash-cam video shows the suspect leading DeVane and another officer on a chase that took them into a trailer park, a neighborhood and busy Highway 59, including several parking lots filled with cars and people. “The neighborhood, fortunately it was a period of time where all the children were in school. That wasn’t that big of an issue as far as having kids out playing in the yards and street,” DeVane explained. “The parking lots was an extremely dangerous situation. As you can see in the video, he never checked up when he came in the parking lots. He shot between a pickup truck and some parked cars.” When Moore entered the Win Dixie parking lot, DeVane said he started to fear for the safety of innocent motorists and shoppers. At that point, DeVane radioed officers to try and take the car out. Moore managed to get around DeVane’s Tahoe, sideswiping the front bumper along the way. Another officer picked up the pursuit as Moore crossed back over Highway 59 and into the McDonald’s parking lot. That’s where police were finally able to end the chase by wrecking Moore’s car. Police said Moore took off on foot and ran inside the O’Reilly Auto Parts store next door. That’s where they caught up with him and arrested him without incident. He’s now in the Baldwin County Jail on no bond. Charles William Moore now faces additional charges of attempting to elude and multiple reckless endangerment and traffic citations in both Elberta and Foley.
