Day in the Life of a Japanese Game Designer

A Day in the Life of a Japanese Game Designer also know in Japan as a Game Planner for a Japanese Development Company. This is life working in Tokyo in the Japan Game Industry developing games for mobile devices. It includes the average work day and typical working hours of a Japanese office. If you want to learn what it is like working in the Japan game industry then this video should help provide insight on the type of work life and work culture in Japan. Shuta works as a Lead Game Designer aka Game Planner at Colopl. One of the largest mobile game developers in Japan popular for making casual mobile games like Shironkeo Project, Meow Meow and Star Acres. With about 800 employees in their Tokyo office, their creative teams produce a wide variety of mobile games. As a Japanese game planner, it’s important to have strong management and communication skills. It’s not enough to be creative and come up with ideas, but a planner must also be able to organize these ideas, create proposals and specification documents in order to effectively communicate their ideas to their teams. Apparently, it took a total of 7 years of development to complete the game Neko Golf. In fact, the development itself froze after 4 years, but then was later restarted and the team restructured when Shuta joined the team 3 years ago. For many playing the game, they’ll probably never truly understand how much time went into creating it, but for the team I’m sure there’s a great sense of completing the game. A day in the life of a Japanese Square Enix Game Illustrator. Square Enix is one of the top video game developers in Japan, creating ultra popular titles known-worldwide such as Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts and making it all happen, 3700 hard working employees. Today, we follow a Japanese Game Illustrator working in the Japanese game development company from morning until the evening. We show what a typical work day in Japan would be including her typical work hours as a Japanese game illustrator working for Square Enix. We also see her morning routine and after work hobbies. Also this is what it would be like working for a popular Japanese game company and the different staff you may come across during a typical work day. The Japanese game industry has so many different jobs so it was great to be able to show another job outside of game development and game programming. Rubi has been working as a video game illustrator in Japan for 6 years now. Even as a little girl she loved to draw but growing up couldn’t envision a proper career where she could pursue her passion. So she entered University majoring in a completely different field, but when her job hunting started, she discovered that there were prestigious Japanese companies were offering illustration jobs. Recognizing the opportunity, she convinced her parents to let her study Character Design at a Professional Training College, ultimately leading to her dream job at her current company, Square Enix and working with Art Directors like Toshiyuki Itahana. Day in the Life of a Japanese Waitress

A day in the life of a Japanese waitress in Tokyo working at a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. This is a typical work day for a waitress in the Japanese food industry and the typical working hours in Japan. This is a look inside of Japanese work culture in Japanese restaurants. Working in Japan is quite unique and depending on the industry may be a bit different from job to job, but many of the jobs also share similar characteristics. The video follows Yuki in her typical japan work day from morning until the evening and everything that happens in between at work. She arrives at the teppanyaki restaurant when it opens and leaves when it closes, very typical for Japanese restaurants. Yuki is a waitress at Pandora, a Teppanyaki restaurant, Japanese style flat grill, which has been a local favorite since 1972 serving Kobe beef steaks and teppanyaki course meals. During her time working as a full-time waitress, she learned the importance of reading and anticipating the customers needs and acting beforehand. It’s a strong part of a Japanese omotenashi culture, a deep and honest form of hospitality, treating customers with respect without asking for anything in return. So for her, even a smile from her customers brings her true joy. One of the main reasons why in Japan tips at the end of the meal are very uncustomary. This among other things shared in this video is what makes working in Japan as a waitress very unique experience. This is a day in the life of a Japanese mom and Japanese baby living in Tokyo Japan. This Japanese Family of 3 with Japanese husband shows how life in Tokyo is like for a new Japanese mother raising a Japanese baby. We follow Moe, 27 year old Japanese mother of Sutan, a 9-month old Japanese infant, from morning until evening to show what type of activities a Japanese mom has during the day. Inside of their Japanese home in Tokyo, we can see what type of Japanese house chores she performs, what type of Japanese food she cooks and how she takes care of her Japanese daughter. This probably would not be considered an average Japanese family but many of their activities are that of a typical Japanese family. This day in the life of Japanese housewife and Japanese baby will feature the joys and struggles a mom has raising a Japanese baby for the first time. Life in Japan starts here as baby and you can see how certain behaviors are taught to babies like saying itadakimasu before the baby eats. I hope you enjoy watching the life of this Tokyo family and their life in Tokyo. A day in the life of a Japanese Carpenter. This is the typical life of a Japanese worker in the Japan construction industry. In Japan, a carpenter is known as Daiku. We follow the life of carpenter in Japan from morning until evening including everything that happens in between. This is the typical work day for a Japanese carpenter. Eri who recently started her own carpentry company mainly renovates stores and houses. In Japan these days, the number of carpenters have significantly decreased by 1/2 compared to 20 years ago, and currently 40% of all carpenters are over the age of 60. It’s become a serious concern in Japan, but Eri, unlike the younger generation avoiding the industry, wants to help spread her joy of carpentry to those around her. Eri is also part of an organization in Japan that aims to empower women in the construction field, called WBCS short for “We will Break through the Construction Site” She, along with the group, aim to create a new and welcoming environment for all women to join their industry. All this part of her daily life in Japan and her typical Japan working hours. So you want to live to be 100? The answers to living a long and happy life may come from Japan which has the longest average life expectancy in the world (83.84 years) and where 2 million people are over the age of 90. Believe it or not, 6 of the top 10 oldest people alive are from Japan including Nabi Tajima of Kagoshima who is 117 years old and the last human alive born in the 19th century! How did so many Japanese get to live so long? What are some of the things Japanese do right? In this episode, John travels to Tottori Prefecture to the area around Mt Daisen where his friend Tomiko-san gives him some advice about how to live a long life and how she's lived to be 106 years old and still working on the farm! Her secret? Tofu. She started to make tofu in the 1950s when doctors said residents had to reduce high blood pressure. She made her own tofu for her family and her diet combined with good habits including staying busy and working hard have strengthened her mind and body. She still walks and writes tanka poetry. I also ask Mr. Seiichi, my 97 year old Japanese neighbor his secret and hear from a Shinto priest about his thoughts and personal experiences with living a very long and happy life in Japan. It's impossible to say exactly what has led to Japan having the longest average life expectancy in the world but these things may help: ★ Green Tea ★ Less fatty foods ★ Seafood ★ Fermented foods ★ Bath culture / Hot Springs & Onsen ★ Smaller portions ★ Education on personal responsibility ★ National safety / low crime rates ★ Respect for the Elderly (It's a national holiday too!) ★ DNA Special thank you to Daisen Town & Yonago City in Tottori Prefecture for the help. Daisen is celebrating its 1300th anniversary this year and you're invited to the party in June 2018! 🤍 Music credits: Always thankful for TeknoAXE (Matthew Huffaker) Songs: Granny Jenkins / Harassing the Mailman 🤍 ビジネス関連のお問い合わせは agency🤍wao-corp.com All business inquiries :agency🤍wao-corp.com We at WAO-RYU! Day in the Life of a Japanese Knife Maker

A day in the life of a Japanese Knife maker working in knife factory in Seki City Japan. This is what a typical work day would be for a knife technician in the factory and outside of workplace. The Japanese work culture can be seen in her everyday activities. Also, this is how Japanese knives are made. Nene works as a knife technician at Zwilling J.A. Henckels Japan, originally a 291-year-old German Knife maker who eventually setup an office in Japan and later acquired their knife factory here in Seki city, also known in Japan as the city of blades, crafting flawless samurai swords and knives for more than 800 years and producing half of Japan’s total knives in this city alone. Today, 90% of the company’s knives sold in Japan are actually made here at this factory. Throughout her shift, she’s tasked with inspecting knives being crafted that day, to ensure that each knife meets the factory’s strict quality standards. Which also means that she’s responsible for knowing the details about each and every knife that’s crafted in the factory including the entire build process for that individual knife and the technical requirements each one must satisfy in order for her to fully perform the inspections. In fact, all the workers are required to undergo basic training when joining, and during the training period, each worker’s skills are assessed and based on their strengths, assigned a specific role such as sharpening knifes, welding, etc. Apparently, sharpening the knives by hand is one of the most challenging parts when crafting a knife. So much so, the factory itself only has 9 specialists who have mastered the skill, and at the moment only 2 who are skilled enough to perform Kiwami Honbazuke, the most extreme and technical knife sharpening possible. Behind the Counter at a local Japanese Bento Shop

Use my code PAOLO15 at 🤍 to get $15 off your first Bokksu Japanese snack box! This is a Japan behind the counter food tour of a local Japanese bento shop. For more than 40 years, Bento Kawano has been making delicious Japanese handmade bento lunches at the affordable price of 600yen. At this value and quality it’s no surprise everyday that the customer lunch lines wrap around the entire block. One important things about this Japanese bento shop is that they must be extra careful about food safety. Since Bentos are designed to be able to sit on the shelf for several hours without refrigeration, the food must always be fully cooked. Run by Japanese food craftsman, Inoue san, he changes the menu everyday so his customers have something to look forward to. He particularly enjoys analyzing the performance of his previous bentos and creating new ones to see how popular it will be, but ultimately he says that whatever bento he serves, he creates each one as if he’ll be sharing it with his loved ones. Interestingly, this Tokyo bento shop runs 4 rice cookers simultaneously throughout the entire day to keep up with the demand using a special hitomebore rice from Miyagi prefecture known for its exquisite taste especially when its cooled down. Even the rice at the shop was specifically selected by Inoue san. I hope you enjoy this Tokyo Hidden gem bento shop. ABOUT THIS VIDEO: Hi. I'm Aki, a minimalist who is a school teacher living in a small village in Japan. Today I would like to share seven healthy Japanese habits with you because many of my foreign friends asked me many times ”Why are Japanese people so healthy and have long lifespans?” From my point of view, I also was to recognize that Japan has other various problems within its society and daily life such as natural disasters, death by fatigue from overworking, and suicide. But there are also good traits and habits of Japanese culture that contribute to the healthy and long lifespan of its citizens. Here are seven healthy Japanese habits that I can think of. So let’s get started. WHO AM I: Welcome to samurai matcha journey! I'm Aki, a minimalist, kimono style school teacher in Japan. I make videos about my usual life in really country side of Japan. Day in the Life of a Typical Japanese University Student

A day in Japanese college student life in the greater Tokyo area. Follow a Keio University student from morning until evening. This is a day in the life of University student in Japan attending Keio University, one of the top universities in Japan. Japan university student life is much different than the Japanese salaryman life as college students have a bit more freedom to pursue hobbies, especially in their senior year of school in Japan. An average Japanese student in Tokyo may have between 15-23 course hours per week while a Japan University student 4th year Senior will have much less such as 9 hours of course hours per week. Yusuke, 22 year old Policy Management Major at Keio University lives with his parents in a 2 story house which is commuting distance to school via train and bus. Typical Japanese University life outside of class and study, also allows for part-time jobs and also a social life with friends. In fact, many Japanese students take on part-time jobs and find the time to hang out with friends in groups and join Japanese University Circles. Generally, a typical Japanese student’s class semester grade is based on assignments, presentations, group projects and 1 final exam at the end of the semester. But one interesting aspect about the Japanese university grading system is that many teachers don’t let students know how each category is weighted so students can’t calculate what they need to score on their final exam to earn a specific mark for the class. Watch the video and let me know in the comments how this compares to your University Life in your country. Get 10% off with my link on Squarespace - 🤍 This is what my Japanese wife normally eats when she’s at home cooking for herself. A very Typical Japanese breakfast, lunch and dinner, especially when I or my 2 year old son is not home with her. This is a day in a Japanese woman's life in Japan when eating all alone. As a Japanese mother it is sometimes difficult to eat these meals as she has to consider what the rest of the family wants to eat, but if she could, she would eat this regularly. For example, my Japanese wife makes tamagoyaki, a Japanese rolled egg omelet, typically eaten for breakfast. The seasonings vary depending on the area of Japan, usually sweeter in the east and a strong dashi with a salty appeal in the west. My wife is from Aichi which is located in the middle, so she prefers it sweet with a strong dashi flavor. And she loves natto, fermented soybeans. It has a uniquely strong scent and flavor along with a gooey texture which for many Japanese is part of their everyday meal. There are many ways to eat natto, like eating it with raw egg or mayonnaise. My wife usually prefers to mix it with one of her many Japanese condiment tubes. Today, she’s going with grated ginger. Day in the Life of a Japanese Housewife in Tokyo

This is a day in the Life of Japanese Housewife raising a Japanese Kid in Tokyo with Husband. This Japanese family shares their life in Japan and life in Tokyo for an entire day. We follow a Japanese mom and her soon to be 3 year old Japanese daughter inside their Tokyo home to see what they do in the morning all the way until the evening when they go to sleep. Tomomi, 38 years old and child, Karin almost 3 years old spend most of their day in their Tokyo apartment, but they also find some time to leave the house and go to the park. This Japanese family does many typical Japanese family things like make miso soup in the morning and make offering to their home shrine, but they also have their unique aspects of their life. The closer we get to our rendezvous point, the less what we see around looks like the Japan we think we know – the most technologically advanced nation with a space exploration program and the world’s fastest experimental magnetic levitation trains capable of travelling up to 370 mph; a country that has developed robots to assist the elderly and to work on radioactively contaminated sites. Japanese corporations are among the leaders on the global scene. We all know that Japanese cars, watches, cameras and musical instruments are of top quality. Japan is a leader in terms of life expectancy that exceeds 84 years. It is the third-largest economy in the world by nominal GDP even though the country has next to no mineral resources and a tiny territory, and only 30% of it is habitable. So how come that this advanced nation is also home to some very serious organized crime? Leaving the ultramodern neon-lit streets behind us, we are entering Eastern Tokyo and getting close to an area called San’ya. This cheap housing district has the fame of the city’s slums, but the truth is that it used to give shelter to day laborers who came to the city to claim menial jobs and were paid by the hour. We are now in the Kabuki-chō district. In an otherwise extremely law-obedient country, this district is considered among the seediest you can find. Not only does it harbor abundant criminal activity; it is also home to many Yakuza gangs, Japan’s organized crime syndicates.
