1941 Piper J3 Cub Aircraft Review with Flight in NorthEast

Take a glance at the nostalgic and legendary Piper J3 Cub in the first ever aircraft review of The Hangar for 2016. Nearly 24,000 Cubs were built and many still fly today with Light Sport privileges, a license you can obtain with only a Drivers License! Yes, you can fly a J3! Watch and learn about the history of this specific J3 owned by a young pilot living in the Northeastern U.S. Around 1939 with WWII ramping up and U.S. involvement becoming a definite, the Cub became the most popular aircraft for initial training and thousands of pilots can trace their flying lineage to one. It's a breeze to fly, beautiful, and slightly invulnerable to mistakes. Let's take a look! This is my first "Aircraft Review" and I hope to bring many more to YouTube for your entertainment. As is such, this is not to be used for training, just enjoy and share how you think I can make this a better viewing experience. I have a few SWEET aircraft lined up if you like it! Thanks - The Hangar, Bry

'The Cubs 2 OSH Story: 75 Years in the Making' - PIPER CUB SHORT FILM

In 2012, a group of J-3 Cub pilots gathered in Hartford, WI (HXF) to celebrate the 75th anniversary of their favorite aircraft before heading north to the largest aviation celebration in the world. They came from all over the country at 70 miles per hour - these are their stories. I've been thinking a lot about how making this short airplane film 8 years ago during OSH12 taught me the true magic of Oshkosh (and aviation). This year then, in the spirit of #EAAtogether and Spirit of Aviation Week, it seemed fitting to release 'The Cubs 2 OSH Story: 75 Years in the Making' for free on YouTube for everyone to enjoy. This film had the distinct honor of playing at the Skyscape Theater at OSH15 (an experience I'll never forget). If you REALLY liked the film - check out our Patreon as a way to support this channel (this film was released EARLY to them): 🤍 ALL MUSIC BY JOSH WOODWARD: "Afterglow" "Swansong" "On Brevity" "Cherubs" "Learn to Fly" "Golden Sunrise" Free download: 🤍 DISCLAIMER: In the interest of time, all flying sequences are cut down heavily. That means we had to cut things like running checklists, traffic position reports, and other procedural items from the video. Also I am not your flight instructor. Restored J3 Piper Cub First flight and crash.

For the impatient the crash is shortly after the 4 minute mark. Also, this cub has been rebuilt and still glad to this day. The "new maiden" after the rebuild can be seen here- 🤍 After weeks of cleaning up the old piper cub we finally decide to try it out. Well, my dad got to try it out lol. This was the first flight in about 15 years and was sadly short lived. Clearly the old mans rusty. I Didn't even get to see it land once. It also would have been nice to actually fly it myself also. This fuselage is about 15 years old and has hundreds of flights on it, it had never been crashed until today but It will live to see another day. New maiden flight soon. Update: thanks for all the comments. Yes plane was obviously tail heavy and a rusty pilot helped bring her on down...... this cub has since been rebuilt and still flies to this day! Rebuild and new maiden video can be found in the rest of my videos. New maiden here: 🤍 Setup: OS 48 surpass 4 cycle engine (25 years old) FP-S148 Futaba servos Spektrum AR6210 receiver DX7s transmitter

J3 cub beach scouting

Scouting beaches at low water in southern TN in a j3 cub. Trying out the new cylinders and new gopro 8.

Flying a 1944 Piper J3 Cub from City of St Petersburg across the ocean to a grass strip.

The Piper Cub J3 could quite possibly be my new favorite airplane i've flown. Hands down one of the most enjoyable flights i've done. I went up in a 1944 Piper J3 Cub, with a C85, 85hp engine, no electric start and pure taildragger flying. I learned alot on this trip. Unfortunately didn't have my gopro, so I filmed the most scenes I could with the phone. #piperj3cub#stpeteairport#flying

Aviation Bucket List: The Original 1941 Piper J-3 Cub

Season 3, Episode 15 Thanks so much to Noah at Great Barrington for helping us fulfill one of our aviation bucket-list items. Next up will be an airplane with overhead throttles! Noah is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, let alone in the pilot community. If every pilot, myself included, could be a little more like Noah, I think the world would be a much better place. Hey, did you guys know that the FAA actually certifies flight instructors to tell you everything that I try to convey in these videos? H-King PNF Swiss J-3 Piper Cub EPO 1400mm - Flight Review

Stuart is here to debut the new H-King PNF Swiss J-3 Piper Cub EPO 1400mm in our official flight overview! See what's new with the J-3 Piper Cub, what's upgraded, learn about its history, and see it in the skies. Now available, including spare parts, in all warehouses. Intro: 00:00 Product Overview: 00:22 3S Flight Demo: 04:33 3S LiHV Flight Demo: 09:17 4S Flight Demo: 13:02 Wrap-up: 17:07 Outro: 17:52 This version of the popular Piper J-3 Cub is in a striking new Swiss color scheme which is a must for all scale pilots. This color scheme uses a lot less paint so there is a bit of a saving in weight which further reduces the already low wing loading. The attention to detail makes it an extremely realistic model, and it comes with a nice, generous size 1400mm wingspan. Like all Cub's with its large wingspan, and stable flying characteristics it is very easy to fly, perfect for low-hour pilots and experts alike. The Swiss Cub also has a new all-metal landing gear which is virtually indestructible, this will survive the hardest of landings. Further weight saving has been achieved by the removal of the metal tail bracing wires, these have been replaced with scale-looking, easy to fit, lightweight elasticated white shock chords. Get the H-King PNF Swiss J-3 Piper Cub EPO 1400mm: 🤍 Get the H-King PNF Swiss J-3 Piper Cub Spare Parts: 🤍 The Piper J-3 Cub is an American light aircraft that was built from 1938 onwards by the Piper Aircraft Company. It was designed to be lightweight and simple to build, would have good low-speed handling qualities, and have great short-field performance. Primarily the Cub was a trainer and gained great popularity in this role, but later on, it became well suited for a variety of military uses such as reconnaissance, liaison, and ground control roles. Putting the H-King Cub together is very simple with every component attached by screws, no glue is required except for some recommended reinforcement purposes. The 9g servos come pre-installed as well as the 45A ESC and powerful 3648-700KV brushless motor. The scale detail is exceptional with plastic injection molded parts used extensively throughout including the dummy engine, wing struts, molded glazing, and large “Cub” wheels. Practical features include the linked steerable tailwheel, large magnetic battery hatch, and the construction is tough, lightweight, and easy to repair EPO foam. The H-King Swiss J-3 Cub is a genuine scale model of a full-size J-3 Cub and is easy to fly by pilots of all abilities including beginners. It is a fantastic-looking model and its unique color scheme makes it look impressive in both the air and on the ground. The Swiss Cub is fitted with a very versatile power train, you can fly it on a 2700mAh 3S which will give you long, lazy scale flights, install a 2450mAh 3S LiHv for sport flying (this is our favorite set-up), or step up to a 2200mAh 4S for a Cub that comes alive with plenty of power for some crazy, stunt flying. All this is achieved using the same motor, ESC, and prop, nothing requires changing. When it comes to performance the choice is yours, but be rest assured, whatever power you choose you will be really pleased with the performance of the H-King Swiss J-3 Cub. Included in the box are an FPV camera mount and a JST ESC to FPV equipment lead. This mount etc coupled with the crystal clear molded windscreen gives you the opportunity to experience HD scale FPV flying from the cockpit for the ultimate FPV experience. Features: • Authentic scale Swiss color scheme • Has realistic attention to detail • Virtually indestructible metal landing gear • Includes FPV mount and crystal clear windscreen for HD scale FPV flying • Excellent flying qualities and low-speed handling • Lightweight, tough EPO construction • Plug N Fly with pre-installed servos, motor, and ESC Featured in this video: ZIPPY Compact 2700mAh 3s 40c Lipo Pack: 🤍 Turnigy Bolt 2200mAh 3S 11.4V 65~130C High Voltage Lipoly Pack (LiHV): 🤍 Turnigy Nano-Tech Plus 2200mAh 4S 70C Lipo Pack w/XT60: 🤍 RADIOMASTER TX16S w/Hall Sensor Gimbals 2.4GHz 16ch Multi-Protocol OpenTx Transmitter: 🤍 Durafly (Small Logo) Cap XS-S: 🤍 Durafly (Small Logo) Cap S-M: 🤍 Don't forget to like, share, subscribe, and hit the notification bell for regular HobbyKing videos Enjoy, stay safe, and let's keep growing the community: • Sign-up for Email Updates: 🤍 • Facebook - 🤍 • Twitter - 🤍 • Instagram - 🤍 • Branded Merch - 🤍 #rcplane #rcairplane #rcaeroplane #hking #swisscub #pipercub #hkingswisscub #flightreview #productoverview #rcplanerview #rcaircraft #hobbyking #plugandfly #pnf #hobbyking #j3pipercub #j3swisscub #flightoverview

WLToys XK A160 Skylark Flying Model Piper Cub Flight Test Review

WLToys XK A160 Skylark Flying Model Piper Cub Flight Test Review This is a very good looking 4 channel flying RC model of the Piper Cub. It includes a 6G stabilzation system to help ease flying. Find it here 🤍 Pros - Looks fantastic. Nicely done flying model of a 1946 Piper J-3 Cub. - Very quiet (almost silent) in flight while under power. - Constructed of EPP foam with plastic trim. Weighs 145 grams, and thus does not require registration in most countries. - Includes 6G (6DoF) stabilization (3 axis gyroscopic, and 3 axis accelerometer) to provide smooth flights for beginner pilots. The stabilization can be quickly turned off and on with the press of a button, allowing acrobatic flight if desired. If you get into trouble, just turn stabilization back on to allow it to automatically level itself. - 1406 brushless motor for power and durability. - 4 channel control with power, ailerons, elevator, and rudder control. - 7.4V 500mah provides about 6 minutes of flighttime per charge. Cons - Plastic trim components are susceptible to damage in a crash. - Not ready to fly, requires assembly. Assembly instructions were incomplete. Requires some basic RC knowledge or experience to fill in the blanks during assembly. - Prone to stalls and unrecoverable spins with the 6G stabilization system on. Stalls/spins occurred even when carefully flying it through gentle turns while paying attention to keep the speed up. JJRC W01 J3 Piper Cub RTF RC Model Flight Test Review

This flying model of the J3 Piper Cub includes everything needed for new pilots to get into the air. Its stabilization system makes it very easy to fly. Find it here 🤍 Pros - 505mm wingspan EPP foam flying model of the J3. Weighing only 65 grams, this airplane does not require registration in most countries. - True three channel control of throttle, rudder, and elevator. - 6 axis stabilization (3 axis gyro, 3 axis accelerometer) makes this pplane very easy to fly. - Propeller is powered by three 0720 coreless motors. - 3.7V 500mah battery can provide up to 20 minutes of flighttime (I got 14 minutes of flight in windy conditions). - 120 meter range with provided controller. - Two flight modes includes fully stabilized beginner mode with pitch and roll angle restrictions, and high rate stabilized intermediate mode with no restrictions on pitch angle (to enable loops). - From the folks at RCGroups, if you want to use your own multi-protocol transmitter, the plane binds to V911s protocol E119 mode. Cons - It was very difficult to loop this plane in intermediate mode with out of the box setup. Watch Caralyn's reaction to flying in a plane with the door wide open! Theres nothing like being able to give someone their first ride in a Piper Cub. We flew low at about 100 feet over lake Apopka and we even saw alligators from the Cub! Then after the tour I slightly bounced the landing so I did a go-around. Whoops! Thanks so much for watching, and please SUBSCRIBE :) FloridaFlying MERCH! 🤍 WHERE I RENT THE CUB 🤍 HOW I RECORD AUDIO 🤍 CUB CHECKOUT FLIGHT 🤍 CAMERAS USED Strut mount -GoPro Hero 6 Caralyn Cam - Hero 4 Silver Cockpit Camera – Hero 3+ Drone - DJI Mavic Pro Cinematic Shots - Nikon D5300

1946 Piper J3 Cub "Barn Cub"

Barn Cub restored by Jared Calvert. Modified and reposted due to music copyright. Piper Cub serial 20304 was purchased new in December '46 by Texas rancher Charles Moseley. Charles, and one daughter, Charlotte, earned their licenses in the Piper and used it as a utility plane. In 1950, after ranch operations were reduced, it was pushed into its barn hangar at the corner of a cotton field after a short flight. The hangar doors were closed and the young Cub was put into darkness. Fifty-nine years later Jared Calvert discovered the barn find and removed it from its longtime home. The Cub had not been in sunlight since Harry Truman was President. Total time on the aircraft was only 197 hours. Over a sixteen-month full-time effort Barn Cub was restored as close to factory as practical while using the Poly Fiber covering system. In April 2012 Jared departed Texas in Barn Cub on a six month odyssey that would eventually take him to each of the lower 48 - all without a plan. *Jared crashed Barn Cub during the trip at his 19th state, completing the journey in a borrowed Cub. Barn Cub is being rebuilt. The fuselage has been repaired and is currently on its gear.

Petrincic Bros Tshirts & stuff: 🤍 Donations to support us: 🤍 Product link: 🤍 This US Navy (NE-1) version of the popular Piper J3 Cub is a must for all scale pilots. The details of the plane are extremely realistic and it comes in a great 1400mm size and like all Cubs is very easy to fly. During World War II the US Navy acquired 230 of the NE-1 version to use as a primary trainer. It was a dual flight control version with the instructor up front and the student sitting in the rear seat. A very stable platform for training. Putting this together is a breeze with every component attached by screws, including the wing halves and tailplane. This makes it easily broken down for transportation. All servos (9g) are preinstalled as well as the 45A ESC and powerful 3648-700KV brushless motor. The scale detail is exceptional with plastic injection molded parts used extensively including the dummy engine, wing struts and the dummy bungee under-carriage with large “Cub” wheels. Practical features include the linked steerable tailwheel, large magnetic battery hatch, construction of course from tough and easy to repair EPO foam. The US Navy NE-1 is a genuine scale model that is easy to fly by pilots of all abilities including beginners. It is a fantastic looking model and its unique coloring makes it look impressive in both the air and on the ground.
