The Ultimate Indonesian Food Day Trip - HUGE Nasi Liwet Feast!

►Check out my list of 50 incredible Indonesian foods: 🤍 ►Ken's channel: 🤍 During my trip to Jakarta, I mostly remained in the city. But Ken and Gratiana from 🤍 invited my wife Ying and I to go with them and their family on an Indonesian food trip to Bogor and the surrounding region (about an hour from Jakarta). Our first stop when we drove out of Jakarta and to Bogor was a famous place to eat Bogor style laksa at a restaurant called Laksa Bogor Pak Inin. It was exactly my kind of a restaurant, open air and local, with a wonderful friendly environment. The laksa was unlike any other laksa I’ve ever had, and it was fantastic. Laksa Bogor - 10,000 IDR ($0.72) Next, we stopped at a place called Toge Goreng Pak Abung, which is another legendary Indonesian food stop in Bogor, Indonesia, and they are famous for serving a bean sprout snack. It was definitely a very interesting dish, including a mixture of bean sprouts and fermented soy beans. Toge Goreng - 7,000 IDR ($0.51) Next we drove into the beautiful Indonesian countryside and to the house. After having some Indonesian snacks and refreshing coconut, we then took a hike to go look for honey. The beekeeper was sick on the day we went, so we we’re able to get any honey, but it was still a beautiful hike. The highlight of this Indonesian food trip for me was the Sundanese style Nasi Liwet Botram family feast that we had. All the food was laid out on banana leaves, and we all sat and ate some of the most beautiful and flavorful Indonesian food. It was an incredible culinary experience. We drove back to Bogor and stopped at Warung Nasi Ampera to eat a quick dinner, and because I wanted to try some ikan pepes. The food was alright, but nothing compared to the lunch feast we had eaten! Total price - 103,000 IDR ($7.46) for 3 plates of food Finally, back in Jakarta, we stopped near Manga Besar to have some desserts and to finish of this incredible day of Indonesian food. Sekoteng - 12,000 IDR ($0.87), Wedang Ronde - 12,000 IDR ($0.87) It was an incredible Indonesian food trip to the outskirts of Bogor, and a nice opportunity to get out of Jakarta for the day. A big thank you to Ken, Gratiana, and her family for inviting us to their house country house and for the amazing food. Street Food Tour of Bali - INSANELY DELICIOUS Indonesian Food in Bali, Indonesia!

Bali is an Indonesian street food lovers paradise! SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week► 🤍 T-shirts► 🤍 Special thank you to Made for driving us around! Bali is an amazing place to eat - there are so many incredible dishes, and the unique Balinese culture paired with the food is what makes it so special. In this Indonesian street food tour of Bali, I’m taking you to 6 street food stalls / restaurants in a row, for serious food lovers! Warung Nasi Bali Men Weti - Some consider this legendary stall, right along the ocean to be the best Balinese local street food spot in Denpasar, Bali, and after eating it, there’s absolutely no room for argument. The plate of food you’ll be served is nothing short of spectacular, full of Balinese flavor. Price - 25,000 IDR ($1.83) per plate Warung Mak Beng - Known for their fried fish set, Warung Mak Beng is another legendary Balinese restaurant. Their fish was amazing, both the fish head soup and the fried fish, and not forgetting their amazing sambal. Another must eat when you’re in Bali. Price - 45,000 IDR ($3.29) per set Sate Plecing Arjuna - This is a place you come to eat sate plecing, a type of Indonesian street food sate that’s covered in a shrimp paste chili sambal. They were incredibly delicious as well, especially the samel. Total price - 68,000 IDR ($4.98) Sate Babi Bawah Pohon - In Bali, pork is very common, and this is probably one of the most well known Indonesian street food stalls in all of Bali. For me the pork sate was a little on the sweet side, however it was still pretty tasty. Price - 25,000 IDR ($1.83) Babi Guling Pak Dobiel - When it comes to Balinese food, there’s nothing more famous to try than babi guling, Balinese style roast pig served with all the side dishes. It’s spectacular combination and you’ll find dozens of restaurants serving babi guling. In this Balinese food tour I went to Babi Guling Pak Dobiel, and it’s the best plate of babi guling I had in Bali. Total price - 100,000 IDR ($7.32) for 2 Warung Kintamani - Ubud - Finally, to finish off this Balinese food tour, we headed back to Ubud and Made, took me to eat mujair nyatnyat, tilapia in a curry sauce. It was awesome delicious, a perfect way to end this Indonesian street food tour of Bali. Total price - 105,000 IDR ($7.68) for 3 MUSIC: We’re Gonna Have a Good Time - 🤍 *CAMERA GEAR* I used to make this video (these are affiliate links): Main camera: 🤍 Main lens: 🤍 2nd lens: 🤍 Microphone: 🤍 Gorillapod: 🤍 Drone: 🤍 I would love to connect with you! Indonesia Street Food - YOGYAKARTA'S BEST STREET FOOD GUIDE! CRAZY Halal Food tour in Jogja!!

🎥 Village Food in Yogyakarta: 🤍 💖 SUPPORT US : 🤍 🥢 BECOME A MEMBER : 🤍 Our Patrons + Members get access to exclusive content, monthly blooper reels and private livestreams! This is our last Indonesian street food video from the series! Today, we are in Yogyakarta or Jogja for its amazing street food. This city is packed with unique dishes of its own cuisine so join us for an insane street food tour of Jogja! We start the day at a famous street food stall that was recently featured in Netflix Street Food: Lupis Mbah Satinem. This lupis (Rp. 10.000 / USD $0.63 each) consists of compressed rice cakes, shredded coconut and Javanese palm sugar. WOW! It was a perfect Jogja breakfast! Her stall is extremely famous and is only open from 6am - 8am so make sure that you start queuing early! Next, we head to a stall serving another quintessential Jogja dish: Gudeg. Gudeg is made of jackfruit that has been stewed in Javanese palm sugar, gelatinous sambal and coconut milk served onto a bed of rice with some side dishes (Rp. 20.000 / USD $1.27 per plate). The atmosphere was perfect! We drove across the city to a local restaurant serving Mangut Lele, which is grilled catfish with chilies. The setting was rural and we were able to watch all of the catfish being smoked with coconut husks. We also went into the kitchen to see the smoked catfish be stewed in a broth of super spicy chilies. You can choose different side dishes to have with the magnet lele. The catfish (Rp. 30.000 / USD $1.90 per plate) was delicious, smokey and spicy. Later in the day we head to a shop serving Javanese noodle, Bakmi Jawa. We ordered two of their most popular dishes - Bakmi Goreng (dry) and Bakmi Godog (soup). What makes Javanese noodles special is that everything is cooked over charcoal, giving it a smokey aroma. Ingredients like noodles, chicken and duck eggs are cooked together and made fresh to order (Rp. 20.000 / USD $1.27 per plate). Next, we head to a street food stall serving a Javanese drink - Wedang Ronde. Served by an aunty who is 85+ years old, this drink is for keeping warm in the winter. The drink is only served after 7:30pm until about 2am. The ronde consists of hot ginger water, glutinous rice flour with crushed peanuts, kolang-kalin (Palmyra seeds) and some peanuts (Rp. 6000 / USD $0.38 each). Be patient and kind to the aunty, she works very hard! To finish our street food tour in Yogyakarta, we wanted to try one last drink - Kopi Jos which is coffee with a chunk of hot charcoal. It is an interesting process to watch. The charcoal is said to remove the bitterness from the coffee. The cafe was packed with locals late at night, and also serve lots of different kinds of sate if you’re still hungry! (Rp. 5000 / USD $0.32 per cup). 1 - Lupis Mbah Satinem Jl. Bumijo No.52-40, Bumijo, Kec. Jetis 2 - Gudeg Mbah Lindu Sosrowijayan St No.30, Sosromenduran, Gedong Tengen 3 - Mangut Lele Mbah Marto Jl. Sewon Indah, Ngireng-ireng, Panggungharjo, Kec. Sewon, Bantul 4 - Mbah Hadi Javanese Noodle Jl. C. Simanjuntak No.1, Terban, Kec. Gondokusuman 5 - Wedang Ronde Mbah Payem Jl. Kauman, Ngupasan, Kec. Gondomanan 6 - Angkringan Kopi Jos Lik Man Jl. Eating the World's Best Breakfast in JAKARTA Indonesia 🇮🇩 | Indonesian Food

These 4 Indonesian foods proves breakfast in Jakarta may be the best in the world. What makes the city so special is that it's a city of immigrants. And so people come from all over the country and they've moved here, which means in one city, you can try pretty authentic food from all over Indonesia, but today we're going to limit it to breakfast in Indonesia. You can support my work at 🤍 where I share tips that don't make it in videos and behind the scenes content. //INDONESIAN BREAKFAST SPOTS// KETOEPAT GLORIA Metro Atom Pasar Baru Jl. KH. Samanhudi, Pasar Baru, Sawah Besar, Jakarta Pusat SOTO SELAN SEMARANG Jl. Pintu Air Raya No. 19 - 21, Pasar Baru, Sawah Besar, Jakarta Pusat BUBUR AYAM MANGGA BESAR Jl. Mangga Besar 1 No.46, RT.2/RW.5, Mangga Besar, Kec. Taman Sari, Kota Jakarta Barat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 11180 NASI KUNING SUKA SUKA Jalan K.H. Muhammad Mansyur No.193, Klendang, Duri Utara, Tambora, RT.2/RW.1, Duri Utara, Kec. Tambora, Kota Jakarta Barat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 11270 Today we're at Pasar Baru which is a neighborhood here in Jakarta and you can get some really interesting dishes here like Ketoepat Sayur. I'm really excited to eat in Indonesia, because they really embrace spicy sweet, savory, it's like the perfect combination, a little bit of salty. Ketoepat is a coconut milk soup. We've got some chayote, which is like a green squash. And then also we've got that ketoepat, which is the compressed rice. And then on top, you've got crispy shallots. I love shallots I love you know a little bit onion, a little bit of garlic. And it's just smells you can just smell that's something that has been simmered for a long time with the freshness of the coconut. This place has been around since 1965. It's served with some tofu, you've got organic chicken, you've got some potato, you have a full boiled egg and tempeh. Stop number two we're in the Juanda neighborhood of Central Jakarta at Soto Selan Semarang. The most interesting thing is we've got some deep fried cow brains which Aloy told me is one of his favorites so I have to try that this is the deep fried cow brain called Otak Goreng so we've got some extra fried bits but I'm just going to go in for this. Eat it straight up just like this? You know what if you didn't know it was cow brain you wouldn't know it was cow brain it almost has the texture of tofu but a little bit creamier like a creamy tofu. In the Karet neighborhood to have bubur ayam now I had it yesterday in a restaurant. Now I'm having it at a cart. This place is so busy just two guys serving alot of dishes a lot of people are picking up to go but you can also get it here. So bubur ayam is influenced by Chinese cuisine, you might know it as congee. They cook rice down in chicken stock until it comes very gelatinous and then also they have chicken in it. So on top of the rice, we have a number of like crackers made from beings called emping. You also have some shredded cabbage, some fried shallots and then we also have cakwe which is a flour that is cooked with garlic so gives a little bit of garlic flavor and then fish sauce and then a homemade sauce on top that's made with tumeric red onion a bunch of spices. This is the best best breakfast in Jakarta. I am in the Padamangan neighborhood. And I'm at Suka Suka. And it means like like, and this is a really popular spot for nasi kuning. In fact, it's very popular for Gojek and Grab, which is like the Uber Eats of Indonesia. On this nasi kuning breakfast you have fried chicken now it's fried in a mixture of lemongrass, shallot, ginger, red onion, a bunch of things. We also have some fried anchovy. I've got an egg. Cucumber, I've got some sambal, which looks very spicy. And then the nasi kuning itself is rice that's cooked in tumeric and then also coconut milk. I'll try the rice first that rice also has lemongrass. // MY EQUIPMENT // Camera: 🤍 Wide Angle Lens Hack: 🤍 Drone: 🤍 Mic: 🤍 Handheld Tripod: 🤍 // GET THE BEST FOOD + TRAVEL TIPS // SUBSCRIBE: 🤍 Like the music? INDONESIAN STREET FOOD - Bukittinggi's BEST Street Food Guide! CRAZY Minang Food in West Sumatra!

Street Food in Padang, Indonesia: 🤍 Our Patrons + Members get access to exclusive content, monthly blooper reels and private livestreams! 💖 SUPPORT US : 🤍 🥢 BECOME A MEMBER : 🤍 This is episode 2 of our Indonesian Street Food series. Today we will be showing you the culinary hotspot of Padang in West Sumatra: BUKITTINGGI! We are driving from Padang City, and will be making food stops along the way to sample some delicious Indonesian snacks! This Indonesian road trip was made possible with the help of Roni’s Tours. Roni’s Tours: 🤍 Our first stop of the day after Lembah Anai Waterfall was for Sate Padang. We ordered 3 different cuts of beef: lean muscle, heart, and intestine. It was cooked over charcoal and had a smoky aroma. It was served Padang style with a spicy sauce (Rp. 27.000 / USD $1.84 for 6 sticks). We also tried a traditional coconut rice dessert which are wrapped in banana leaves (Rp. 4000 / USD $0.27 each). We continued toward Bukittinggi stopping for a traditional snack known as Bika. Bika are pastries made of rice flour, palm sugar and coconut, and banana. The cooking process involves placing the uncooked bika into a earthenware pot and then a bowl full of wood fire on top. These bika are SUPER delicious (Rp. 24.000 / USD $1.64 for 4 pieces). Our next stop was in Bukkittingi. We visited an outdoor food market: Los Lambuang, which is known for Nasi Kapau. Nasi Kapau is similar to Nasi Padang in that the dishes served are Minangkabau. What makes them different is the serving style (to learn more about Nasi Padang, check out our previous episode). The stall we ordered from is called Uni Lis and we ordered Gulai Tambusu (intestines stuffed with egg + tofu served in curry), ayam rendang, dakak dakak (crunchy cassava cubes) as well as sambal (Rp. 48.000 / USD $3.28 per plate). We went into the city centre to see Bukittinggi’s clocktower and city square. We ordered a soursop and dragonfruit smoothie (Rp. 10.000 / USD $0.68). Our next stop was Sianok Valley, which is a scenic canyon. The cliffs rise up to 150 meters! Our plan was to continue eating after taking in the valley’s views by drone, but we crashed the drone in a bamboo cluster above the cliffs. BIG thank you to Roni and Ujang (of Roni’s Tours) for finding it! Since we spent all of our time finding the drone, our planned restaurants closed so we resorted to some street food style food! We found a man on the side of the road near Sianok Valley selling some DURIAN! It hits the spot when you are tired and hungry! (Rp. 15.000 / USD $1.02 each) Stay tuned for the next episode. We will be heading DEEP into Harau Village to experience true Indonesian Kampung cooking! Subscribe and hit the bell icon. Set to “all notifications” so that you don’t miss an episode of our Indonesian series! Thanks for watching! Addresses: Sate Padang at Sate Mak Syukur Jalan Mohammad Syafei No.63, Ps. Baru, Kec. Nasi Padang - AMAZING Indonesian Food - Beef Rendang and Gulai Otak!

►Read more about this Nasi Padang restaurant here: 🤍 I can still remember my first time to ever eat Nasi Padang, when I visited the island of Sumatra back in 2009. I had a plate of rice, piled high with a variety of different curry dishes and chili filled dishes. The combination of flavors and the variety of dishes on my plate just astounded me, and my taste buds rejoiced. Until now, Nasi Padang has always remained one of my favorite Indonesian food meals to eat. And along with being very common throughout Sumatra, in Jakarta, Padang food is perhaps one of the most beloved meals as well, and you’ll find hundreds of Nasi Padang restaurants in the city. There are two ways to eat Nasi Padang. If you go to a street food stall they normally served it in the pesan way, where you get a plate of rice, and designate which curries and dishes you’d like to eat, and they are all placed on top of your rice - so you’ve got a one plate meal. And this is the way that I’d normally always eating Nasi Padang. But when you go to a nicer sit down restaurant, still very local, they often serve it in the hidang method, where as soon as you sit down, you’re given a variety of all the different dishes they have prepared, and they set them all in front of you on your table. You don’t need to eat everything they give you, but you pay for what you eat, and don’t pay for what you don’t eat. It’s truly a magical way to have a meal, to see all the different dishes and varieties of ingredients all laid before you. The toughest part is trying to decide what to eat. When I was in Jakarta, thanks to the help of Renis, who invited Ying and I to come to her favorite Nasi Padang Indonesian food restaurant in Jakarta, we ate at Rumah Makan Surya Masakan Padang. What I liked about this restaurant, as opposed to others I ate in Jakarta, is that it seemed not so much like a chain, but it had more character to it. The restaurant is known for its makan Padang, Padang food, and as soon as we arrived, I could smell the aroma of the incredible dishes. The beef rendang is a famous Indonesian food that’s commonly served at Nasi Padang restaurants, and it’s a dish you don’t want to miss. The combination of chilies and herbs, mixed with desiccated coconut, and caked onto each piece of meat, makes it incredible. Beef rendang is one of the greatest Indonesian dishes. Additionally, another common Indonesian Padang food that you’ll find is gulai otak, which is brain curry, usually made with cow brains. The cow brains are incredibly creamy and soft, and then it was within a very creamy coconut milk based curry. I’m also a huge fan of the different types of fresh chilies and sambals that you each along with your rice and curry when you eat Nasi Padang. Rumah Makan Surya Masakan Padang is an amazing restaurant in Jakarta, and I fully loved it. Rumah Makan Surya Masakan Padang Address: Jalan Bendungan Hilir Raya No.15, Bendungan Hilir, Jakarta Open hours: 9 am - 8 pm daily Total price - 165,000 IDR ($12.52) ►Nasi Padang Surya: 🤍 MY WEBSITES: 🤍 🤍 🤍 T-shirts & Food Guides: 🤍 Resources: 🤍 SOCIAL MEDIA: Snapchat: 🤍migrationology Instagram: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 ►Jakarta Travel Guide for Food Lovers: 🤍
