This crispy pork belly came out with epic crackling that was bubbly and easy to bite through, the meat was tender, juicy and full of flavour too! For me, the secrets to crispy pork belly have always been about preparation combined with high indirect heat. Taking the time to dry the skin out is key, using a jaccard really helps to create that bubbly crackling and high indirect heat helps crackling formation without it burning too fast. In the video i'll explain all of the above more in depth. I hope you enjoy my video! - Samgyeopsal Gui / Grilled Pork Belly Ingredients Pork belly 400g Vegetable oil- 1 tsp Sesame oil 1 tsp Toasted sesame seeds- 1 tsp Garlic- 5 cloves Kimchi 200g Salt- 1 tsp Black pepper 1/2 tsp Instructions 1. Heat the pan over medium heat. Add oil and cook from the fat part until brown and crispy 2. Cook both sides of the meat by turning the meat upside down. Drain excess oil from the pan 3. Add garlic and continue cooking the meat until they’re fully cooked. Take the meat out from the pan and rest 4. In a meantime put kimchi in the same pan that was used to cooked the meat and stir fry 5 to 10 minutes until cooked. Drizzle 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds. Sprinkle sesame seeds on kimchi 5. Seriously, this is the easiest recipe on earth and it's absolutely delicious. Trust me when I say this is the easiest, most tender pork belly burnt ends you will ever make. No kidding! This is the best way to cook this cut of meat because it gets nice and caramelised on the outside while being so succulent and tender on the inside. Watch how I do it in my Weber and make it look so easy, I know your mouth will start watering before you even start cooking it yourself. Oven Roasted Pork Belly Recipe! . If you love Pork, like I do; this is for you my friend💪 Before you think about cooking this; Plan ahead! This Pork Belly came vac Sealed. After wiping the skin dry with a paper towel. I pricked tiny holes into the skin with a Jaccard (the tip of a sharp pointy knife will work). Place the Pork Belly skin side up on a wired rack, & left it uncovered in the fridge for 3 days. Total Cook Time: 80min ON COOK DAY: Preheat oven to 180c 1. Prick Tiny Holes into the skin of the Pork (Yes, I double pricked😉) 2. Season the meat side with whatever you like. I used; a touch of olive oil as a binder, Garlic Goals 🤍lownslowbasics as a base cover, Chinese 5 Spice, Dried Thyme, Black Pepper 3. Boat your meat with foil. I use the Costco food grade foil. It's thick which makes it alot easier to do. 4. Top the skin with Rock Salt 5. 180c in the oven for 60min 6. Remove the Pork Belly from it's foil boat, wipe off all the salt & dont forget to wipe the sides 7. Brush White Vinegar on the skin. Go over it a couple of times 8. Switch to Grill Setting at 250c with your oven rack furthest away from the heat. 20mins later & it's done! 9. Let it rest, tented with foil for 10/15min & slice! This is food heaven, crispy fried pork belly with tender melt in the mouth meat, smothered in an unctuous sticky sweet glaze with a hint of chilli to balance out the flavours.
