Aquarium PH Level is Too High? Too Low

My Aquarium PH Level is Too High? Too Low. You might be worried because your fish Aquarium pH level is reading too high and you’re trying to fix it with set products that aren’t working. I’d like to give you some advice that’s really going to help you when trying to fix your aquarium pH. People also complain that their fish aquarium pH is too low in their fish tank and they’re looking to raise it. The advice I give him this video will help you drastically as far as moving forward with keeping freshwater fish aquariums. Some added fish aquarium talk: I finally got my sons 50 gallon set up today. I worked on refinishing the acrylic and that alone took some good time. It’s not perfect and there’s still scratches but it took the hazing away. It’s filled with remineralized RO water since I can’t use my tap since it’s high in nitrates. The aquaclear 110 fit this tank perfectly. I added a large sponge filter to my sons current tank on Friday so I’m waiting for it to get seeded enough to add to his new tank and then I’ll add the old filter cartridge to his new filter to seed it with beneficial bacteria so I can add his 2 fancies soon. I recomend mixing RO with Tap water 50-50% or 75% ro 25% tap. It will. Keep your PH and alkalinity more stable, I use RO mix for my tanks but when I used only RO my Ph dropped from 7.5 to 5.0 in a matter of hours, I lost a bunch of fish due to that stress, so keep in mind that. I’ve been adding alkaline buffer to stabilize the ph. So far it hasn’t fluctuated. I keep the Kh around 6. My tap has 30ppm nitrates so I’ve been avoiding using it. I couldn’t get my nitrates to a safe level until I started using RO water. If you are going to use ro water, make sure to put in a big bubble stone or bubbler to help keep the ph up. The water also needs remineralized but I'm not sure what all you have to add for that. hey everyone, can you help me identify what’s up with my girl? she has these white patches on her scales. it doesn’t look like ich and none of my other fish are showing signs of ich. maybe i’m wrong? But my water parameters are perfect! and I’m trying to grow an algae garden which is what you are seeing on the back panel. And she’s currently taking a salt bath right now with aquarium salt. thanks. There has to be something going on. My black moor has the same thing going on with her. We’ve tried everything and nothing is working, so we’re watching her really close. At a guess. It looks more like damage rather than disease. Do you have any decorations or sharp rocks etc. Or even a pleco type fish? Do the other fish chase this one around? This is my current set up with a 55 gallon and a 30 gallon. I just bought a new 90 gallon tank which is sitting empty in front. We are considering moving the 30 to another room, putting the 90 (around 1300 lbs with stand) on the left and moving the 55 (around 800 lbs with stand) to the right by the window. This is an exterior wall, joists are parallel, house is under 10 years old. Do you think this will be too much weight? I can keep the angled placement to help spread the weight onto additional joists. I originally wanted all three tanks on this wall as shown in the drawing but was told that was too much weight on the parallel joists. Yeah my grandma had a 100 gallon on a floor in her ranch house that looked like it shouldn't even physically be able to hold, she had the thing for like 12 years. One gallon weighs about 8.5 pound. So 55 gallon weighs about 465 pound plus the tank. That's the weight of three guys on a couch. No problem. But that 90 gallon? I’d get a structural architect to look at it for me first just for peace of mind. I wanted to built a stand for my living room with a huge tank built in (I still want to but I have to do renovations on the floor). I have almost the same number of gallons in my living room with no issues. I dont even know which way the joists run. 20 gallon under my 55. And I also have skylights and windows that hit the tanks and relatively minimal algae issues. The aquarium ph level can read too high or too low at times. Trying to get a lid for my 55 gallon breeder but im really at a loss. I tried to make one custom with polycarbonate plastic but it bowed in the middle and really wasn’t ideal. I have an HOB filter as well as a canister filter on my tank so i need room for those in a lid. What is everyone using for their 55? Would love to see it.

Aquarium Rocks - Adding Them To Your Aquarium

Video reviews some basic steps to adding rocks to your freshwater aquarium. From selection to preparation, as well as some thoughts on the effect of certain rocks on your aquarium's pH. Please, I welcome debate and feedback. I am not a scientist and don't present this as fact, only personal experience and conjecture based on information I've gathered from various formal and informal sources. Since making this video I’ve learned a few things from the comments. Thanks! I also want to clarify that when I say “boil rocks” I meant to say something along the lines of adding boiled water to help clean and sanitize. You shouldn’t put rocks in a pot and boil them, apparently. I guess there’s a risk of sudden fracture/“forceful explosion”.

River Rock Large Stone as Aquarium Substrate

I talk about using river rock and stone as aquarium substrate. It’s a cheap alternative gravel for fish tanks. I express my opinion on regretting using this stuff. The larger river rock can trap poop and uneaten food. I much prefer gravel around the 3mm granular size. More Random Fish Tank Talk: I tested my water this morning just as a weekly test, nothing seems out of the ordinary, but my alkalinity seems pretty low. Everything else is okay as far as the PH and nitrates and nitrites. Should I do anything for the alkaline if everything else is fine? And what would you suggest doing to raise the alkaline levels if so? What a difference a year makes. I stared out with the tank on the left. I joined this group and I also knew that tank sucked for my fish friend. He ended up passing in a 10 gallon from swim bladder and tumor complications...My new guy is in a heavily planted 10 gallon tank with 3 zebra danios and 2 panda Cory catfish. Natural wood with java moss. I would have never imagined I would be so inthralled with this hobby! Thanks all for your guidance. 🤍 So yesterday I went to my local Aquarium to buy fish food for my Iridescent shark tank. As a part of quarantine they are opening for only 2 hours at morning. Saw this guy in placed in a small cup and couldn't help rescuing him as his was looking as if he is about to die. Right now I kept him in a 9 gallon tank. He is very active right now. So what about his fins and coat? Do I need to do anything else to speed up his recovery process? Thank you in advance. I don’t mind algae in my tank but this dark green algae is starting to spread all over everything to the point where my Armanos and Nerites can’t keep up. I need help identifying it and what I can do to fix it! Water parameters also posted in the pics! Thanks so much! 37 gallon planted 15 females, 20 Armano shrimp and 5 nerites! Hello! I’m new here and I’m about to start setting up my first tank. It took me months to decide what I wanted and I finally decided I’d like a few female betas. I have purchased a second hand tank and just given it a clean (we also have a four foot tank but I thought I’d start with a smaller tank first!). I’ve been doing reading and research but wanted to ask beta owners what tips they would give to a new beta owner, things they wish they knew when they started out! I’m planning on awuascaping with white pebbles, stones and some plants to begin with. Thanks so much I second what's already been posted. You mention getting a "few female bettas" - - betta sororities (multiple females in one tank) are something I would only recommend after at least a year of experience keeping bettas, understanding temperaments, and a lot of research. Your tank can house one female (or a male) betta! You can easily keep a gorgeous male in there but would NOT recommend multiple females. Definitely not enough space for more than one. I wouldn't recommend a tank smaller than a 20 gallon for a sorority and no more than 5 in there. Do house females together you need to do a sorority. The minimum requirements for a successful sorority are 5 females (No more no less) in a heavily planted and decorated 20 gallon tank. Sororities are not recommended for beginners as they either go good or really bad. It’s a difficult task to manage. I like this tank style - that’s neat ! I personally like to style my tanks around the appearance of my fish. So I can’t offer you much there. I do recommend sans over gravel. I find it easier to maintain, and it’s just so much easier on the eyes. Invest in a good syphon for your water changes and get yourself a big bucket for that too! (I use an old 5 gallon cat litter bucket!) I would only put one female in a tank that small, they are more active than males and sororities are high maintenance. If you plan on having several females then I highly recommend a much bigger tanks. So a 20 liter mite be a bit small for 3 females and you must start with 3 or you mite have territorial behavior which will lead to battle with only 2. Also if you are planning to put live plants in, you should put in a substrate for plants and then on top you put anything you fancy...I learned the hard way when each and every time I put a plant in after a while it would die. Things I wish I knew...Cycling. Bettas like long, not tall tank. Variety of food, bloodworms, brine shrimp. Sponge filters are awesome. Bettas tank temp needs to be around 80°F It's expensive. Bettas with long fins do better in "smaller" (3.5-5 gallon) because they tend to be lazy swimmers. Females with shorter fins do well in large tanks because they utilize the swimming space.

Hi. I made an almost-five minute video of a rock. Its a cool rock tho :) In all seriousness, lava rocks are very popular among freshwater aquarists. Besides looking good, they have a cool function in aquariums that benefit both plants and the fish themselves. FAQS: Q: How many fish tanks do I have? A: Just one! Q: Will I ever get a betta sorority/breed bettas? A: Nope and nope! Both require a lot of work, money, and time to perfect- neither of which I'm willing or able to provide! Q: How do you name your fish? A: Sometimes I'm inspired by a character in a show or movie, or someone in real life like a celebrity. More often than not, however, I literally just choose whatever pops into my head- its like names I love but would never name my future children for whatever reason haha
