Stovetop cinnamon apples are so much faster than baked, so you can have them ready in a snap. Bring your standard breakfast up a notch, or get a fun Sunday brunch together super-quick. Recipe: 🤍 Perfect served in so many ways: - topping for oatmeal or muesli, along with chopped walnuts - on-dairy yogurt topped with apples and granola - topping for french toast or pancakes (vegan versions of course) - piled on plain toast (or grill bread in a pan with coconut oil and cinnamon... yummers...) The sugar-cinnamon-lemon combo is truly spectacular, if you've not tried it before you really need to give it a shot. It's a magical flavor sensation. (Ottawa natives will know this flavor from my inspiration: Kilaloe Sunrise BeaverTails - which are vegan if you ask to hold the butter! This is a healthified version, using the flavor for cinnamon apples. We were foster parents for 11 years and when you’re a foster parent you deal with a lot of ups and downs. While children came into your home you never really knew what they were dealing with how they felt inside and so it was really important for us as parents, and being a family to really be a help with the child no matter how long they were in our home. And when children came into our home, food was a big issue, I don’t feel that there was one child that ever came into our home that didn’t have some kind of issue dealing with food. Whether it was not getting the food or getting too much food or maybe a certain meal that reminded them of their family or brought back certain memories. Food is really powerful and it does help comfort us or bring us happiness when we’re sad or maybe it even is something that is used to fill a hole that really isn’t the issue but they’re using it thinking that it will help. And usually when there are food food issues it’s because when children come in to your home, they don’t have a lot of control over anything, but they given the opportunity can have control over food. So I just wanted to address some of the things that we dealt with when children came into our home ideas that we came up with hopefully to help these children overcome these food issues and to really dig deep and see what the actual problem was that maybe we could be a help to or get somebody who could help them. These 2 receipts were written by Susannah Carter and are from one of my favorite period cookbooks the 1765 book The Frugal Housewife. Not to be confused with another recipet book published by the same name, but with a different author later on in the 1829. I use the 1803 American edition, which has an appendix. This book influenced the first cook book by an American author, Amelia Simmons's American Cookery (1796), so much so that some of the receipts from The Frugal Housewife were copied word for word to be put into American Cookery. It’s that time of year, when I need to pick and process the apples before the squirrels get them all. While these apples from my back yard are often a bit smaller than what you’ll find at the store, they really do work well in pies and jam. Nonetheless, they won’t stay fresh forever, so what I like to do is make apple pie filling.

Dear friends, today we would like to share with you the Harvesting Red Apples and Making Pavidlo for Winter Preparations video, we really hope you enjoy this video and share with your friends. The harvest period for apples varies from one variety to another. For example, Jonathan apples are normally harvested in mid to late September. The harvest season for Red Delicious apples is normally late September to early October. However, the harvest period for apple varieties is strongly influenced by weather conditions during the growing season. (This year most apple varieties are maturing about 10 days earlier than normal because of our early spring.) Gardeners, therefore, should base the harvest time on the maturity of the apples rather than a specific calendar date. My name is Tammy, and I want to teach you how to cook like my mama. She was an amazing cook and baker and all of us kids can cook up some good food. After many years of being complimented on my food, I decided to make some videos to teach my own children how to cook. I am a cancer survivor and wanted them to have a way to learn even if my life was cut short. So Collard Valley Cooks began in the summer of 2017. Many of my older videos show just what an armature I was at making video content. However, after much encouragement from my viewers I created three cookbooks and have come a long way. Today, our videos are in HD with more quality sound, and not only that I have learned so many tips from viewers just like YOU! I really believe I am an even better cook thanks to you all and appreciate your encouragement. Being a YouTuber takes lots of patience, time, determination, thick skin and so much more, but the true joy comes from the stories from my viewers. Many of you mean so much to us. We just want to thank YOU for SUBSCRIBING, WATCHING, LEARNING, and being faithful to our channel. Print the Recipe: 🤍 Ingredients 10 apples, peered, cored, and sliced 4 oz (114 g) unsalted butter 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 cup packed light brown sugar 4 and 1/2 tablespoons (50g) cornstarch 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream Instructions Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add all of the remaining filling ingredients except for the cream. Cook the filling until it thickens. The apples should be fork tender. Remove from the heat and add the heavy cream. Mix and set aside to cool completely. The filling can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Notes If the apples release too much liquid, the filling may take longer to thicken. To prevent the apples from getting mushy, combine a tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of warm water together in a bowl. Whisk tigether and add to the filling. This will help thicken the juices faster. If the filling gets too thick (too much cornstarch), thin it out with some more heavy cream and a splash of water or apple juice.
