Classic Mood Experience The best masterpieces ever recorded in the music history. Join our Youtube: 🤍 Join our Facebook: 🤍 Charles Edward Anderson "Chuck" Berry (born October 18, 1926) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter and is one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. With songs such as "Maybellene" (1955), "Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957) and "Johnny B. Goode" (1958), Berry refined and developed rhythm and blues into the major elements that made rock and roll distinctive, with lyrics focusing on teen life and consumerism and music featuring guitar solos and showmanship that were a major influence on subsequent rock music. Born into a middle-class African-American family in St. Louis, Missouri, Berry had an interest in music from an early age and gave his first public performance at Sumner High School. While still a high-school student he was convicted of armed robbery and was sent to a reformatory, where he was held from 1944 to 1947. After his release, Berry settled into married life and worked at an automobile assembly plant. By early 1953, influenced by the guitar riffs and showmanship techniques of the blues musician T-Bone Walker, Berry began performing with the Johnnie Johnson Trio. His break came when he traveled to Chicago in May 1955 and met Muddy Waters, who suggested he contact Leonard Chess, of Chess Records. With Chess he recorded "Maybellene"—Berry's adaptation of the country song "Ida Red"—which sold over a million copies, reaching number one on Billboard magazine's rhythm and blues chart. By the end of the 1950s, Berry was an established star with several hit records and film appearances and a lucrative touring career. He had also established his own St. Louis nightclub, Berry's Club Bandstand. But in January 1962, he was sentenced to three years in prison for offenses under the Mann Act—he had transported a 14-year-old girl across state lines. Tina Turner & Chuck Berry - Rock n roll music
Today, on what would have been his 95th birthday, we honor Chuck Berry and celebrate his legacy with the release of a very special limited run of the Chuck Berry 1970s ES-355, hand-crafted by expert luthiers and craftspeople at the Gibson Custom Shop and the Murphy Lab. In this video, we pay homage to the roots of and enduring musical legacy of Charles Edward Anderson Berry and his lasting impact on guitar players everywhere. The city of St. Louis and Chuck Berry’s music are inextricably linked. From humble beginnings in “The Ville” neighborhood he grew up in to pioneering rock and roll songs that took him around the world, and then back again to the storied Duck Room at Blueberry Hill where Chuck Berry continued to play monthly shows well into his 80s. Chuck Berry’s songs resonated deeply with America’s youth. His songs paint a picture. They tell a story. He was an artist who went far beyond genres, eras, and race. But as extraordinary as Chuck’s songwriting and performance craft were, at the end of the day, it was that guitar phrasing that set his music apart: the boogie-woogie roll, those double stops, and those multi-string bends coursing through his pickups that willed rock and roll into existence. Every rock guitar player of any stature has borrowed much from Chuck Berry. And along for that ride was his Gibson ES-355. This is more than vintage. This is lineage. This is America’s musical heritage. Начальный гитарный риф Чак позаимствовал у гитариста Карла Хогана с его записи песни Луиса Джордана "Ain't That Just Like a Woman" (1946). Лирический герой песни Джонни Би Гуд встречается еще в 4 песнях Чака.
