INDIA VS. PAKISTAN FACE-OFF AT WAGAH/ATTARI BORDER CEREMONY (WITH COMMENTARY)! (4K)

The Wagah/Attari Border Ceremony at the India-Pakistan border, which has occurred here since 1959, is the most unique and surreal changing of the guard/flag lowering ceremony in the world. Why? Because India and Pakistan are basically enemies and have fought three wars against each other since 1947 and even today, they are technically still at war over the disputed territory of Kashmir. Furthermore, soldiers from each side come within inches of crossing each other's border, as they continually taunt and try to outdo each other with high-stepping, chest puffing, arm waving, and clenched fists. What makes this ceremony even more unique is the festive pre-ceremony; I felt like I was at an American football game instead of being at a tense border ceremony. In fact, the pre-ceremony is just as fascinating as the ceremony itself. Despite the rivalry, it was a display of pageantry, respect, and cooperation, which gives me hope for the future of Indian-Pakistani relations! But what’s the significance of ’21’ in the ’21-cannon salute? According to one account attributed to the US Army Center of Military History, the cannon salutes trace back to the 14th century when a battery of seven guns fired three times. Every independence day we wake up to a beautiful ceremony by the Defence forces where they present a twenty-one cannon salute. But what’s the significance of ’21’ in the ’21-cannon salute? According to one account attributed to the US Army Center of Military History, the cannon salutes trace back to the 14th century when a battery of seven guns fired three times. This custom traces its roots back to the 17th century when an enemy of the state was ordered to fire their ammunition and unload their weapons by none other than the British naval forces. After that, it became a certain tradition to fire ammunition from on board naval warships if one is to display peaceful intentions. Today, the 21-gun-salute is the highest honor any nation can accord any dignitary that it considers a valuable friend. In Pakistan, this 21-gun salute is accorded on specific occasions. Although Pakistan adopted the tradition from the British Raj, it is very much ours today as well as that of other countries like Bangladesh, Canada, Denmark, The Republic of China, to name a few. 75th Independence Day: Remembering Jinnah as A Charismatic Leader Mr Jinnah's political career had reached its apex with the Lahore Resolution in 1940. If the promised creation of a separate homeland for Indian Muslims was to ensure peace, prosperity, power, and a sense of purpose for Indian Muslims, it was vivisection of the motherland for its opponents, particularly Hindus and Sikhs. The figure and personality of the Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah is a fertile area of study because he played a key role in the creation of Pakistan, which altered the political map of South Asia and ushered in a new era of freedom struggle in the Muslim world, in particular, and throughout the world. Max Weber’s theory of the ‘Charismatic leader’ fits Jinnah’s personality and leadership of the struggle for Pakistan’s creation. Jinnah’s personality possessed all of the essential characteristics of a charismatic leader, particularly the ‘personality and situation factor,’ allowing him to achieve his goal. In a very short period of time, he was able to gain the popular support of an overwhelming majority of Muslims in India for his cause. 21 topon ki salami,21 topo ki salami,21 top ki salami at risala chowk,21 topon ki salami 2019,21 topon ki salami | august 14,21top ki salami,salami,21 topon ki salami eid milad un nabi, paki army 21 topo ki salami,21 topo ki salaami songs,21 topo ki salami pakistani,21 top ki salami on rabi ul awwal eid milad ul nabi, kyu di jaati hai 21 topo ki salami, ekess topon ki salami,21 topo ki salami on independence day, ekkees toppon ki salaami #21toppokisalami #21topsalami #21topslami #ikistopokisalami #21top #14august #14aug #independenceday #pakistan #14augindependenceday #14augperiod #14augparade #borderparade #14augparade 14 august parade,14 august prade,14 august, wagah border parade, wagah border parade 14 august 2019,live 14 august prade,14 august 2022,14 august status, wagha border parade, pakistan day parade, pakistan 14 august parade,14 august whatsapp status,14 august 2019 wagha parade,14 august 2021 wagha parade, independence day parade,14 august prade 2019,wagha border parade 14 august 2021,wagah border parade 14 august 2018,14 august 2022 wahga border parade independence day, pakistan independence day, independence day of pakistan, pakistan, independence day 2022,pakistan independence day songs, pakistan independence day whatsapp status, pakistan zindabad, happy independence day, india independence day, pakistan day,pak india independence day, independence day status, pakistan independence day dance, pakistan independence day band,#pakistan independence day,#independence day status, independence day status 2022 #14augustparade2022 #14august #14augustvideos #waghaborderparade #waghaborder #jtvofficial

The lowering of the flags ceremony at the Wagah border is a daily military practice that the security forces of India (Border Security Force, BSF) and Pakistan (Pakistan Rangers) have jointly followed since 1959. The drill is characterized by elaborate and rapid dancelike manoeuvres and raising legs as high as possible, which have been described as "colourful". It is alternatively a symbol of the two countries’ rivalry, as well as brotherhood and cooperation between the two nations. Similar parades are being organised at Mahavir/Sadqi border near Fazilka and Hussainiwala/Ganda Singh Wala border near Firozpur. INDIA TO PAKISTAN - Crossing the Wagah Border on Foot Solo!

To start my Pakistan trip I crossed over the Wagah Border from India into Pakistan as a British female travelling solo. READ MY BLOG POST WITH MORE DETAILS HERE: 🤍 I had to wait in Amritsar for a few days whilst my vis was approved. I stayed at GoStops Amritsar Hostel which I recommend. The day after my visa for Pakistan was approved I took a taxi from Amritsar to the border which in the morning with no traffic took 40 minutes. The Wagah Border opens at 10:00am so don't get there before then, but don't cross the border too late either as it closes at 5:00pm because of the Wagh Border Ceremony which happens every night! My taxi dropped me off at the Passenger Terminal in India where I got my passport stamped out of India and went through Indian Customs. Then I had to wait for a bus to take me from the India Passport terminal to the Wagah Border Ceremony Stadium and where you cross the border. This was totally surreal as I had watched the Wagah Border from the Indian side just the day before, and now I was crossing the Wagah Border on foot! Both the Indian Soldiers and the Pakistani Soldiers needed to check my passport either side of the border line and asked me some questions about why I was in Pakistan but I said for tourism which was fine! The Pakistan immigration is in walking distance from the ceremony building on the right. I had an e-visa for Pakistan which was processed there, they asked me a few more questions but I was stamped into Pakistan and free to head to Lahore. I got a taxi from outside the passport building into Lahore from the Wagah Border which took 1.5 hours because of traffic. I stayed at MaryLeena Hotel Gulburg in Lahore which I would recommend for cheap Lahore accommodation! I feel so so lucky to be able to cross the Wagah Border, especially as a British female and it was the British Rule that put the border up. I love both countries and can't wait to see Pakistan! * THIS IS THE ACCOMMODATION I STAYED IN: AMRITSAR: 🤍 LAHORE: 🤍 GET MONEY OFF YOUR NEXT AIRBNB WHEN YOU CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT WITH THIS CODE: 🤍 YOU CAN FIND ALL OF MY PAKISTAN BLOG POSTS HERE: 🤍 🤍 * VLOG 77 from my Full Time Travels! Wahga (Urdu: واہگہ‎) or Wagah is a village and union council (UC 181) located in the Wahga Zone of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The town is famous for the Wagah border ceremony and also serves as a goods transit terminal and a railway station between Pakistan and India. Wahga is situated 600 metres (2,000 ft.) west of the border and lies on the historic Grand Trunk Road between Lahore and Amritsar in India. The border is located 24 kilometers (15 mi) from Lahore and 32 kilometers (20 mi) from Amritsar. It is also 3 kilometers (1.9 mi) from the bordering village of Attari. The Wagah ceremony takes place every evening. The lowering of the flags ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border is a daily military practice that the security forces of India (Border Security Force, BSF) and Pakistan (Pakistan Rangers) have jointly followed since 1959. The drill is characterized by elaborate and rapid dance-like manoeuvres and raising legs as high as possible, which have been described as "colorful". It is alternatively a symbol of the two countries’ rivalry, as well as brotherhood and cooperation between the two nations. At the international border between India and Pakistan, the pomp and pageantry of the Beating Retreat and the Change of Guard occur within the handshaking distance of the Indian and Pakistani forces. Wagah, an army outpost on the India-Pakistan border between Amritsar and Lahore, is an elaborate complex of buildings, roads and barriers on both sides. The daily highlight is the evening “Beating the Retreat” ceremony. Soldiers from both countries march in a drill, going through the steps of bringing down their respective national flags. In summers, the parade starts at 5:15 PM while during winters it starts at 4:15 PM. The ceremony lasts for 45 minutes. However, the Wagah Attari border entrance is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, so its best to visit the place at least 1 hour before parade as everyone do not get to attend the ceremony easily.
