The Schonbrunn Palace was the summer residence of the Habsburgs imperial family. In this video I visit 40 of the 1440 rooms (Grand Tour 16 euro ), inside is not allowed to film and take pictures but I was able to steal some footage with a Osmo Pocket DJI. Unfortunately the quality is poor since is the first time I use this camera. Click here 2:45 to go directly to the imperial rooms. For the imperial gardens and external scenes I used a Sony RX10M3. Take a look inside the Schloss Schönbrunn. In this video, Adia gives us a tour of the famous Schönbrunn palace and takes us behind the scenes. Schönbrunn Palace is one of Europe's most beautiful Baroque complexes and has been in the possession of the Habsburgs since 1569. The wife of Emperor Ferdinand II, Eleonore von Gonzaga, had a pleasure palace built on the site in 1642 and called the property "Schönbrunn" for the first time. The palace and garden complex created from 1696 onwards following the siege of Vienna was complete redesigned under Maria Theresa after 1743. Today, due to its historical significance, its unique layout and magnificent furnishings, the palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site. From hunting grounds to Baroque garden: Schönbrunn Palace park is open to visitors free of charge all year round and is home to impressive fountains, statues, monuments, trees and flowers as well as the magnificent Gloriette. Schönbrunn Palace - Schloß Schönbrunn 🇦🇹 Vienna Tourist Guide

At the end of the 17th century Emperor Leopold I commissioned the gifted Baroque architect Bernhard Fischer von Erlach to built a palatial hunting lodge for the heir to the throne. On the site of the old imperial château de plaisance a splendid edifice was to arise. Half a century later under Maria Theresa Schönbrunn Palace was to become the magnificent focus of court life. From that time onwards it played host to the leading statesmen of Europe. Although Austria is now a republic, Schönbrunn has remained a place of political encounter at the highest level. The magnificent architecture and the exquisite décor of its state rooms marks Schönbrunn out as a cultural treasure and tourist attraction of the first order. Whether you plan for an Austria day trip or a longer Austria travel to Vienna, Salzburg or the Salzkammergut, there is so much to see in this beautiful Alpine country. In this Austria Travel Video, I'm in Vienna, the city of music, culture and imperial sights, Austria’s amazing capital. Join me as I explore Schloss Schonbrunn, the Schönbrunn Palace and summer residence of the Habsburg imperial dynasty. Schönbrunn Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Austria's most visited tourist attraction. It’s a marvel of Baroque architecture and garden design and it’s one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historic monuments in the country. The place is huge and seems to borrow some design elements from the Versailles palace in Paris. The entire palace has a whopping 1,441-rooms but only 40 of them are open to visit. Those however give you a great sense of what the Habsburgers lived like. The history of the palace and its vast gardens spans over 300 years and has seen quite a few changes over the years. But it’s not only the palace building that is noteworthy, it’s also the beautifully tended geometrical gardens around it. In this video, I’m going to show you the best places in and around the palace, starting with the tour. Please also check out my other videos on my travel to Austria, including my trip to Salzburg and the surrounding mountains and valleys of the Salzkammergut such as Hallstatt, Bad Ischl, Gosau, St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen, Gmunden, Zell am See and of course my trip to Vienna - and so much more. Really autumnal today with high humidity, clouds and light fog. Schönbrunn is located in the 13th district of Vienna, which is called Hietzing. In its present form, Schönbrunn Palace initially goes back to a residence planned by and for Emperor Joseph I, which Empress Maria Theresa later had converted into a comfortable summer residence for her family in the 18th century. The palace has been in the 13th district of Vienna since 1892, which has been called Hietzing ever since. The name Schönbrunn refers to a saying attributed to Emperor Matthias. He is said to have discovered an artesian spring here while hunting in 1619 and exclaimed happily: "What a beautiful Brunnen!" Schönbrunn is the largest palace and one of the most important and most visited cultural assets in Austria. The castle and the approximately 160-hectare park have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1996. If you like the video, please give a thumbs up. Thanks! Vienna Austria | Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens

Vienna Austria | Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens This beautiful UNESCO-listed palace, complete with huge gardens, ornate fountains, wide green lawns and walking paths, is a lovely destination for nature lovers and history buffs alike. But besides simply strolling the grounds, you can take part in a medley of historic and cultural activities here. In order to truly appreciate the property, you should know a little more about it. The name #Schonbrunn means “beautiful spring” in German, and refers to the artesian well that once served the royalty living here. While these days you won’t be drinking from the spring, you can still appreciate the serene beauty of this unique destination and easily imagine how marvellous it was during its heyday. The history of Schonbrunn goes all the way back to the 16th century, when the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II bought the land and the mansion on it, and converted it into a hunting ground stocked with a bestiary of animals and exotic birds. The area was used as the royal hunting grounds for about 100 years, and the royal family lived in the mansion when they visited. It wasn’t until the mid-17th century that this original building was added to and Schonbrunn started to take the shape and size it has today. Finally, it was Maria Theresa who drastically remodelled the palace after receiving it as a wedding gift in 1740. Later, Franz I ordered the facade to be redecorated in a neoclassical style, which is what we see today. Over the years, Schonbrunn has seen more than its fair share of historical events. Emperor Franz Josef was born and also died here. After World War I, the palace officially became a museum. But that didn’t mean it was obsolete. Allied forces were stationed here during World War II, and throughout the 20th century Schonbrunn was the site of numerous important political meetings, including one between Kennedy and Khrushchev in 1961. The palace and the grounds received UNESCO status in 1996, and both remain impeccably looked after. But the history and design of the building are only part of the allure that make Schonbrunn a must-see sight in Vienna. It also has a rich cultural calendar throughout the year. Today, Schonbrunn is a one of the centerpieces of Austrian history and culture. To start with, you’ll certainly want to take one of the guided tours, which is the best way to get to know the history of the palace and all the different things to do here. It’s also the only way to get inside to see the opulence of the palace interiors. But even beyond the different areas of the palace, each of which has its own special connection to history, there are numerous activities to take part in and other things to see. Many festivals and special events take place at Schonbrunn throughout the year, from classical music concerts to art exhibitions and even things like the Vienna Citrus Festival....... - If you like what you see, subscribe and click the bell to enable notifications for more travel videos. 🤍 I really appreciate your support! ❤️❤️❤️ IMPORTANT NOTE: The content of this channel, including: videos, images and graphics must not be downloaded for the purpose of being re-uploaded to YouTube or another 3rd party website. A Tour of the Famous Schönbrunn Palace #vienna

Schönbrunn Palace

CHRISTMAS MARKET IN VIENNA, SCHONBRUNN PALACE, Schönbrunn Palace was the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers, it is located in Hietzing, Vienna. The 1,441-room Baroque palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historical monuments in the country. Since the mid-1950s it has been a major tourist attraction. The history of the palace and its vast gardens spans over 300 years, reflecting the changing tastes, interests, and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs., In 1569, Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II purchased a large floodplain of the Wien river beneath a hill, situated between Meidling and Hietzing, where a former owner, in 1548, had erected a mansion called Katterburg. The emperor ordered the area to be fenced and put game there such as pheasants, ducks, deer and boar, in order for it to serve as the court's recreational hunting ground. In a small separate part of the area, "exotic" birds such as turkeys and peafowl were kept. Fishponds were also built. The name Schönbrunn (meaning "beautiful spring") has its roots in an artesian well from which water was consumed by the court. Schönbrunn by Bernardo Bellotto, 1758 During the next century, the area was used as a hunting and recreation ground. Eleonora Gonzaga, who loved hunting, spent much time there and was bequeathed the area as her widow's residence after the death of her husband, Ferdinand II. From 1638 to 1643, she added a palace to the Katterburg mansion, while in 1642 came the first mention of the name "Schönbrunn" on an invoice. The origins of the Schönbrunn orangery seem to go back to Eleonora Gonzaga as well. The Schönbrunn Palace in its present form was built and remodelled during the 1740–50s during the reign of empress Maria Theresa who received the estate as a wedding gift. Franz I commissioned the redecoration of the palace exterior in the neoclassical style as it appears today. Franz Joseph, the longest-reigning emperor of Austria, was born at Schönbrunn and spent a great deal of his life there. He died there, at the age of 86, on 21 November 1916. Following the downfall of the Habsburg monarchy in November 1918, the palace became the property of the newly founded Austrian Republic and was preserved as a museum. After World War II and during the Allied Occupation of Austria (1945—55), Schönbrunn Palace was requisitioned to provide offices for both the British Delegation to the Allied Commission for Austria, and for the headquarters for the small British Military Garrison present in Vienna. With the reestablishment of the Austrian republic in 1955, the palace once again became a museum. It is still sometimes used for important events such as the meeting between U.S. president John F. Kennedy and Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev in 1961. Since 1992 the palace and gardens have been owned and administered by the Schloss Schönbrunn Kultur-und Betriebsges.m.b.H., a limited-liability company wholly owned by the Republic of Austria. The company conducts preservation and restoration of all palace properties without state subsidies. UNESCO catalogued Schönbrunn Palace on the World Heritage List in 1996, together with its gardens, as a remarkable Baroque ensemble and example of synthesis of the arts., The sculpted garden space between the palace and the Neptune Fountain is called the Great Parterre. The French garden, a big part of the area, was planned by Jean Trehet, a disciple of André Le Nôtre, in 1695. It contains, among other things, a maze. The complex however includes many more attractions: Besides the Tiergarten, an orangerie erected around 1755, staple luxuries of European palaces of its type, a palm house (replacing, by 1882, around ten earlier and smaller glass houses in the western part of the park) is noteworthy. Western parts were turned into English garden style in 1828–1852. The area called Meidlinger Vertiefung to the west of the castle was turned into a play area and drill ground for the children of the Habsburgs in the 19th century. At this time it was common to use parks for the military education of young princes. Whereas the miniature bastion, which was built for this purpose, does not exist anymore, the garden pavilion that was used as shelter still does. It was turned into a café in 1927 and is known as Landtmann’s Jausen Station since 2013. At the outmost western edge, a botanical garden going back to an earlier arboretum was re-arranged in 1828, when the Old Palm House was built. A modern enclosure for Orangutans, was restored besides a restaurant and office rooms in 2009.

Muzyka: You Tube Audio Library (Kevin MacLeod, Audionautix)

I Belong To Me Suzan Erens Schonbrunn Palace

Andre Rieu (Holland) with his orchestra choir soprano Suzan Erens (Holland) sings I Belong To Me at the Schonbrunn Palace Vienna, Austria on July 8, 2006. Composer: Sylvester Levay/Book (Hungarian) Lyrics by: Micheal Kunze (Germany) From: Andre Rieu at the Schonbrunn Palace. - Lyrics I Belong To Me - I will not give up my own self Just to be with you I will not be glad just to do What I'm told to do I'm not meant to be your property No, I belong I me If I want to reach for the stars You can't hold me back I want to take chances Far off from the beaten track Don't force me to be what I can't be I belong to me If you try to tame me I will not obey I'd rather leave you alone If you try to change me I must break away To be what I am on my own I'm freezing, I'm burning I live without compromise I'm growing, I'm learning I'm ready to pay the price I know it's not easy to be free But I belong to me I hate to be burdened With duties that I despise You know I can't stand To be watched by a thousand eyes I flee from the crowd in agony I just belong to me If you want to keep me Don't hold me so tight I can't give my life for your love If you want to break me I'll not even fight I'll just fly away like a dove I'm here when you need me I live and I die with you I'll share all your troubles I'll laugh and I'll cry with you You can blame me and bless me But you cannot possess me 'Cause I belong to me To me!

vienna summer travel vlog: visiting schonbrunn palace, cafe hopping, walking around the city

vienna is not new for me, yet i was amazed at how quickly i fell in love with this beautiful city (again)! i could definitely see myself living here in the future. while its cost of living is much higher than a budapest or a prague, society is very organized and efficient, and there is so much to do and love. the palaces, churches and museums are great, but exploring low-key neighborhoods is just as fun for me.
