#Proxmox #MacOS #BigSur #VM Full steps can be found at 🤍    01. Download a MacOS Big Sur .iso  🤍    02. Download KVM OpenCore bootloader  🤍    03. Extract the downloaded KVM OpenCore bootloader .gz file    04. Upload the Big Sur and KVM OpenCore .iso files to the Proxmox ISO library    05. Log into the ProxMox web UI    06. Right click the ProxMox node name ≫ Create VM    07. Type MacOSBigSur in the name field, set the VM ID to 1100 (unless 1100 is in use) ≫ Next    08. On the OS tab, set the Type field to Other and select the KVM OpenCore .iso in the ISO Image field ≫ Next    09. On the System tab, set the Graphic card field to VMware compatible, BIOS field to OVMF (UEFI), Check the Add EFI Disk checkbox, Uncheck the Pre-Enroll Keys checkbox, Machine field to q35 and the SCSI Controller to VirtIO SCSI ≫ Next    10. On the Hard Disk tab, set the Bus/Device field to VirtIO Block, Disk size field to 64, Cache field to Write back (unsafe) ≫ Next    11. On the CPU tab, set Cores field to 4, Type field to Penryn ≫ Next    12. On the Memory tab, set the Memory to 4096 ≫ Next    13. On the Network tab, set the Model field to VMware vmxnet3 ≫ Next    14. Verify the summary and click Finish    15. Click the MacOSBigSur VM ≫ Select Hardware from the left sub-navigation menu    16. Click Add ≫ CD/DVD Drive    17. Select the MacOS Big Sur .iso downloaded earlier ≫ Click Create    18. Select the MacOSBigSur VM ≫ Options ≫ Boot Order    19. Set the KVM OpenCore disk as the first boot option ≫ Click OK    20. Right click the ProxMox node name ≫ Console    21. Run the following commands in the terminal          # edit the VM conf file, change 1100 to the VM ID for the Big Sur VM          nano /etc/pve/qemu-server/1100.conf    22. If running on an Intel CPU, add the following line to the bottom of the .conf file:          FULL STEPS ON GITHUB LINK ABOVE    23. If running on an AMD CPU, add the following line to the bottom of the .conf file:          FULL STEPS ON GITHUB LINK ABOVE    24. Press CTRL+W and search for ,media=cdrom    25. Delete the ,media=cdrom from the two attached .iso files (KVM OpenCore and Big Sur) and add cache=unsafe    26. Press CTRL+O, Enter, CTRL+X to write the changes to the conf file    27. Back in the Proxmox web UI, right click the MacOSBigSur VM in the left navigation pane ≫ Start    28. Click console in the left sub-navigation menu    29. At the OpenCore menu, select UEFI Shell ≫ Press Enter    30. Type the following in the UEFI shell:          # change to the Big Sur .iso, the disk number may be different for you          fs0:          # launch the MacOS installer          System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi    31. After a long initialization sequence the MAC OS Setup should start    32. Select Disk Utility    33. Select the VIRTIO Block Media ≫ Click Erase    34. Name the drive OS11 ≫ Set the Format to APFS ≫ Click Erase    35. Click Done ≫ Close Disk Utility    36. Click Install macOS Big Sur    37. Click Continue ≫ Click Agree ≫ Click Agree again    38. Select the OS11 disk ≫ Click Install    39. Wait while Mac OS 11 installs files, the VM will reboot several times    40. Press Enter at the OpenCore boot screen after each reboot to continue the MacOS installation    41. Select your Country ≫ Click Continue    42. Confirm your languages and keyboard layout ≫ Click Continue    43. Click Not Now on the Accessibility screen    44. Click Continue on the Data & Privacy screen    45. Select Not Now on the Migration Assistant screen    46. Select Set Up Later and then Skip on the Apple ID screen    47. Click Agree ≫ Agree again    48. Enter a name, user name, password ≫ Click Continue    49. Click Customize Settings    50. Click Continue ≫ Select Use or Don't Use for Location Services    51. Pick a timezone ≫ Click Continue    52. Choose whether to share analytics with Apple ≫ Click Continue    53. Click Set Up Later on the Screen Time screen    54. Uncheck the Enable Ask Siri box ≫ Click Continue    55. Pick a theme ≫ Click Continue    56. Welcome to MacOS 11 Big Sur   ### Connect with me and others ### ★ Discord: 🤍 ★ Reddit: 🤍 ★ Twitter: 🤍

#Proxmox #MacOS #BigSur #VM Full steps can be found at 🤍 This is an addendum to the tutorial on installing a  🤍 The steps below will allow the VM to boot without having the OpenCore .iso mounted, as we'll be copying the EFI boot files onto the virtual hard disk.   Configuring Booting Without OpenCore Mounted    01. Log into the MacOSBigSur VM    02. Launch a web browser and download the KVM OpenCore EFI folder  🤍    03. Start LaunchPad from the dock    04. Search terminal ≫ Click Terminal to launch it    05. Run the following commands in the terminal window          git clone 🤍          cd MountEFI          chmod +x MountEFI.command          ./MountEFI.command    06. Enter the number that corresponds to the OS11 drive created during the installation ≫ Press Enter    07. Open a Finder window    08. Navigate to the mounted EFI location    09. If an existing EFI folder exists, rename the it to EFI.orig    10. Copy the KVM OpenCoreEFI folder downloaded earlier to the mounted EFI partition    11. Once the EFI folder is copied, shutdown the VM    12. Click the MacOSBigSur VM ≫ Select Hardware from the left sub-navigation menu    13. Click the OpenCore Hard Disk to select it ≫ Click Detach    14. Click the detached OpenCore Hard Disk to select it again ≫ Click Remove    15. Right click the MacOSBigSur VM in the left navigation pane ≫ Start    16. Click console in the left sub-navigation menu to verify the VM still boots into Big Sur without the OpenCore disc image mounted   ### Connect with me and others ### ★ Discord: 🤍 ★ Reddit: 🤍 ★ Twitter: 🤍

Download Opencore Iso.gz dan OpencoreEFIFolder (🤍 2. Extract Opencore iso.gz dan upload file iso kepada proxmox 3. Download ISO Mac OS (Jangan yang Ventura) pada 🤍 4. Upload ISO macos kepada proxmox 5. Login kepada Proxmox 6. Klik kanan pada Node Server Proxmox ≫ Create VM 7. Tuliskan Nama dan Tuliskan VM ID (Misal 222) 8. Pada OS, Pilih Tipe Other dan memilih ISO KVM Opencore.iso pada ISO image 9. Pada tab System, Pilih Graphic card menjadi VMware Compatible, Pada BIOS pilih OVMF (UEFI), Uncheck Pre-Enroll Keys, Check add EFI Disk, dan Pilih Storage, Machine Type pilih Q35, Untuk SCSI Controller pilih VirtIO SCSI 10. Pada Hard disk, pilih Bus/Device kepada VirtIO Block, Ukuran Disk Sesuaikan yang diinginkan, Cache Pilih Write back (unsafe) 11. Pada CPU, Tentukan Cores Sesuai kebutuhan, Pilih dari ini (4 , 8 , 16 Jika angka aneh tidak akan Boot), Type nya pilih Penryn 12. Pada Memory, Tentukan sesuai kebutuhan, Pilih dari ini (4096, 8192, 16384 Jika angka aneh tidak akan Boot) 13. Pada Network, Pilih Model menjadi VMware vmxnet3 14. Pastikan Konfigurasi benar dan Klik Finish 15. Click VM yang Baru Terbuat, Klik Harware pada Sub menu 16. Click Add ≫ CD/DVD Drive 17. Pilih ISO dari Mac OS yang telah didownload sebelumnya ≫ Klik Create 18. Pilih Sub Menu Options ≫ Click Boot Order ≫ Rubah Hingga Opencore Menjadi Urutan pertama,dan ISO Mac OS Urutan Kedua 19. Click Node Name, Click Shell 20. Execute Command ini # edit VM config File, (Rubah 222 menjadi VM ID yang telah ditulis pada Step 7) nano /etc/pve/qemu-server/222.conf 21. Tambahkan pada bagian paling bawah Jika CPU Intel : - Dapat dilihat disini ( 🤍 ) pada Nomor 22, kamu bisa copy Jika CPU AMD : - Dapat dilihat disini ( 🤍 ) pada Nomor 23, kamu bisa copy 22. Ketik CTRL+W , Cari media=cdrom dan hapus , kemudian tambah cache=unsafe 23. Ketik CTRL+X , Safe Perubahan 24. Ketik VM yang telah dibuat, kemudian klik console, atau double klik pada vm untuk membuka Console 25. Start VM yang dibuat (Klik kanan pada VM ≫ Start , atau klik start pada option diatas saat buka VM) 26. Pada OpenCore menu, pilih UEFI Shell ≫ Kemudian Enter 27. Ketik ini pada UEFI Shell: fs0: System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi 28. Tunggu Mac OS Boot 29. Klik Disk Utility ≫ Continue 30. Pilih VirtIO Block Media ≫ Click Erase pada Menua diatas 31. Namakan Drive (Ex. OS) ≫ Click Erase 32. Click Done ≫ Tutup Disk Utility 33. Click Install macOS Monterey 34. Click Continue ≫ Click Agree ≫ Click Agree Lagi 35. Pilih disk OS (Nama yang dibuat saat Erase) ≫ Click Install 36. MacOS akan melakukan instalasi, Normal untuk VM Reboot Berulang saat tahap ini 37. Setelah Boot, Pilih Country (Negara) ≫ Continue 38. Pilih Bahasa dan Keyboard Layout ≫ Continue 39. Pada Menu Accessibility click Not Now 40. Pada Menu Data & Privacy click Continue 41. Pada Migration Assistant Click Not now 42. Pada Apple ID Click Set Up later lalu Click Skip 43. Click Agree ≫ Agree lagi 44. Masukkan Nama, User Name dan Password ≫ Click Continue 45. Click Continue, Lalu Click Dont Use Location Services 46. Pilih TimeZone ≫ Click Continue 47. Uncheck Share Mac Analytics with Apple ≫ Click Continue 48. Click Set Up later saat menu Screen Time 49. Uncheck pada Ask Siri ≫ Click Continue 50. Pilih Tema yang diinginkan ≫ Click Continue 51. Instalasi MacOS sudah selesai Konfigurasi lanjutan agar dapat boot tanpa Iso OpenCore pada Hardware 1. Buka github opencore dan download KVM Opencore EFI Folder 🤍 2. Buka LaunchPad, Search Terminal dan Buka terminal 3. Eksekusi command berikut git clone 🤍 cd MountEFI chmod +x MountEFI.command ./MountEFI.command 4. Pilih nomor drive berdasarkan nama yang telah dibuat (ex. OS) ≫ Enter 5. Buka Finder ≫ Copy Seluruh Folder KVM Opencore yang telah terextract kepada folder yang telah ter mount (Kalo bingung bisa melihat pada video) 6. Unmount Folder tersebut 7. Shutdown Mac OS 8. Hapus ISO Opencore dari Hardware Proxmox 9. Ah yes, after trial and error, 3 takes recording this, I finally got my Windows virtual machine to take the AMD GPU with PCI passthrough. These are the steps I took and the guide I followed. This guide should work for both AMD and NVIDIA dedicated graphics cards. NOTE: If you're using an AMD GPU you may run into some issues as I did. For me the fix was disabling CMS in the bios. Still, some of us might want, or need to test stuff out on Apple's operating system, fortunately, there is now a simple solution to do just that, with just one command line. It's nothing you couldn't do on your own with a bit more time, but this snap package has the advantage of being just one command line away, and taking care of all the setup for you. Now be warned that Apple's End User Licence Agreement doesn't allow to run Mac OS in a VM on hardware that isn't made by Apple, so do this at your own risk! As always with virtual machines, you need to ensure that your CPU supports virtualization in the BIOS. Once you're all set, you just open a terminal window, and run this command: sudo snap install sosumi Let the installation run its course, and you should get a menu entry called, you guessed it, SOSUMI. Run that to initialize the VM. You should get a terminal window which shows you the download progress for the system image that will let you install macOS. Click inside the window to focus is, and then press enter to start the installer. After a while, you should end up in the installer window for Mac OS. To begin with, you'll have to format the virtual disk that the VM has created for you. Double click on "disk utility", and select the disk called "Apple Inc. VirtIO Block media", with a size of 68Gb. Then, click on "Erase", and select the format you'd prefer using, I used APFS, as that's the most recent Apple Filesystem, but it will work fine if you use Mac OS Extended. Click the "Erase" button. The operation should be pretty fast, and you can then close the disk utility window, and start the installer by double clicking on "Reinstall macOS". Once the installation is complete, your VM will reboot and let you complete the first-run setup. You'll end up in Clover again. One last reboot, and you'll be able to select the "Boot mac OS frm Mac HD" option in Clover, the last option on the right. Once the boot process is complete, you'll have to sift through a few settings screen, and log in using an Apple ID, or create one if you don't already have one. Close the VM by shutting it down, and open your file manager. Snaps create a folder in your /home directory, to store everything, so head over there, and go to Sosumi, then Common. Here, you'll find a file called "launch". First, make a copy, in case something goes wrong, so you can restore the previous version, open the file with your text editor of choice. In this file, you'll see all the parameters for the Qemu virtual machine. -m defines the memory usage of the VM, in gigabytes. By default, it's 2, but as I have 32Gb on my device, I'll put 16 in there. Now, for the window resolution, it's a bit more involved. Type diskutil list Grab the identifier for the disk that reads EFI, it should be the same as mine, disk2s1. Then type sudo diskutil mount disk2s1 or replace disk2s1 by the correct identifier for your EFI disk. Now open the Finder, and go to the EFI disk in the sidebar. Open the CLOVER folder, and ediut the config.plist file, using textedit. Here, you'll find a line that reads screenresolution. Change the default of 1280x720 by what you want to use, in my case, 1920x1080. Save the file. Now, shut down the VM, and restart it. Right when you see the terminal window open, hit "escape". You'll see an interface that looks like a BIOS. Select device manager, OVMF Platform Configuration and then "change preferred". Press the F10 key to save, and then escape until you get back to the main menu, where you'll then select "Continue". You can also change the CPU core count affected to the VM. By default, you'll get 4 threads for 2 cores, listed in the line "-smp 4,cores=2". You can change that by putting another number.
