Another beautiful morning here on Negros Oriental Island I had to travel this morning to Bindoy for banking needs. Agnes is back home protecting our chicken's 🐓 we have a rodent problem with a big rat coming in at night attacking our chicken's. My construction workers decided not to show up once again this morning so we have no construction going on at our house today. Bindoy is one of the municipalities in Tañon Strait, one of the largest marine protected areas in the Philippines. In this explanatory video, local officials and fishers describe their marine conservation program that has become a model for other coastal towns. They show how the strategy of setting up managed access areas for licensed fishers, and enforcing the law in no-take zones inside marine sanctuaries, promotes sustainable fisheries. Bindoy began its partnership with Rare in 2010, and also adopted the Fish Forever program.
