🤍 Find on Reverb: 🤍 Not long ago, Boss passed the torch of compact digital delays to the DD-8 which amazingly preserves the aesthetic of DD-2, the first compact digital delay pedal. Though the appearance and amount of knobs in this compact series hasn’t ever changed, the feature set and modes continue to evolve. Now the DD-8 sets a new record with 10 distinct delay modes plus a 40 sec looper. The DD-8 can take you through the complete history of delay sounds such as tape, analog and modulated. Modern delay modes include Glitch, Warm, Shimmer and even Delay/Reverb like the latest RV series. Boss also manages to incorporate must-have features like stereo in/out with 3 stereo routing modes, delay carryover that’s easily switchable, tap tempo with subdivisions as well as expression pedal control. Each mode also can be Twisted utilizing an external footswitch for Space Echo-style ramping with self-oscillation. The DD-8 is both straightforward and feature packed, making it a guaranteed workhorse on any pedalboard. Plus, it’s priced well under any boutique delay and built with Boss’ road-tested reliability. Buy Now: 🤍 The Boss DM-2W is a faithful reboot of the company's well-loved DM-2 analog delay. The DM-2W is part of Boss's Waza Craft series dedicated to bringing players meticulously-designed updates of existing pedals. "Waza" is the Japanese term for art and technique, which is a recurring theme in both sound and design. The DM-2W picks up where the original left off, with a rich fully-analog bucket brigade delay line that melts seamlessly into itself for warm, fat repeats. There are two modes on the DM-2W: standard mode, which is crafted with the original slapback-friendly 20–300 milliseconds of delay, and custom, which brightens up the repeats while offering between 40 and 800 milliseconds of analog repeats. The DM-2W is equipped with a direct out for parallel processing, and an expression pedal jack to the DM-2W that allows players to remotely control the rate of the repeats. Like all Boss pedals, the DM-2W is built for the rigors of the road in its time-tested stout form factor that professionals have relied upon for decades. 🤍

I take some time to demonstrate what you can do with a Boss DD3 digital delay. For the nerds: It's a blue label, japanese edition (not sure of the year, don't care). These are not the standard sounds like the "Edge" sound or some others you see quite often. These are just some sounds I found by messing around with the delay that I haven't heard before. In the first part I take a short delay with fairly high feedback to create a trashy reverb sound. It works quite well but beware of feedback or bass booms while you're recording. The setting on the speed switch is on the shortest setting. The second sound is meant to emulate a short bass loop with the hold function on the pedal. You can play any kind of pattern you manage to cram in that short time passage after you find the octave of your desired tempo. Octave of your desired tempo = first set a tempo you like to play over, play a note then speed up the delay time until you hit the octave of that note. After that, you drop it back to the original tempo. That's it. The metallic overtones are produced because of very short d. time and high feedback and the delay starts to go into self oscillation. It's reminiscent of some playable ring mod sounds. The glitchy riff effect is hard to achieve at first, but after some practice it's possible to get it right. The key is to play in one scale to sound musical. I mean, you can play any assortment of notes you wish. Be creative and have fun. The more delay time you set, the more notes you can play in a sequence. Don't expect to get a repeatable result! I hope you enjoyed the demonstration. I have more sounds and I'll show them later. Have fun and take care. Cloudeater

Delay pedals are simple in principle, but over the years they've helped guitarists to totally transform their sound and sculpt some amazing music - everything from ambient soundscapes to chart-topping hits! And though they CAN be simple enough, there have been some major changes and improvements to our much-loved delay devices - these days options are plentiful and it may not be clear which delay pedal is right for you. So in today's video, Sam shows us the key differences between some of his favourite delay pedals from the likes of Boss, Strymon and MXR. Justin from Sonic Sense Resource Center delivers another clear explanation of how and why to use a digital delay pedal in your guitar effects chain. Not so much a performance as it is a demo and tutorial. Discover what role a digital delay pedal can play in helping your achieve the sound you're looking for. Hey this is Justin from Sonic Sense Resource Center. Thanks for coming back for another installment in our BOSS guitar pedal library. Today we have a DD 7 digital delay so let's do a quick run down first. We've got a Epiphone Wilshire Phantomatic. It's going into a Fender Blues Junior, miking it up with a Cascade ribbon mic and, of course, the BOSS DD7. Let's hear one of my favorite modes, the modulation. So, the BOSS DD-7 has eight modes. The first four are just related to how long the delay time you need. Then you've got "hold," which allows you to hold a note. "Modulate" puts a chorus impact on the delayed notes. "Analog" recreates the sound of classic analog delay pedals and "reverse" in which the delays are reversed from the original signal. So let's check out a few the special modes. So the boss dd7 analog mode creates a much darker repeat which is perfect for your lead playing at a lot of depth and space. Now, when you combine a delay pedal with an over drive or distortion, usually you're gonna wanna put the delay AFTER the distortion pedal in your signal chain. This creates a much clearer sound because you're making echoes of your distorted sound rather than distorting your echoes. Another great feature these pedals have is tapped tempo. Tap tempo lets you use your foot tapping to set the tempo of the song so you can do rhythmic effects. So that has been the BOSS dd7. Thanks for hanging out with us. Please make sure to see the Sonic Sense Resource Center. We have direct comparisons and reviews between studio monitors, headphones, guitar effects and more. Thanks so much. I'll see you next time.
