Alien Breed 92 SE Longplay (Amiga) [50 FPS]

Follow me on Twitter 🤍 🤍 Get Great Retro Scene News 🤍 🤍 Developed and published by Team 17 in 1992 The Alien Breed games were certainly some of the most iconic to grace the Amiga and this was the first in the series that I played. The main difference between Alien Breed and the Special Edition is this version doubles the number of available levels; not bad considering it was a budget title. It pays very obvious homage to the Alien movie franchise, especially Aliens, as you guide a marine around an infested space-station on a mission to eradicate the alien threat. The aliens look very much like H.R. Geiger's famous creation, from tiny little face-huggers to big hulking xenomorphs. The game is similar to Gauntlet in that the levels are maze-like and you must locate keys to open doors to progress. The player must decide whether to use keys to open doors to rooms that contain bonus credits, ammo and health, or whether to simply push on towards the objective. Credits can be used to buy new equipment from the various Intex System terminals dotted around each level. New weapons are more effective at blasting aliens than your default machine gun, especially the flame-thrower and laser rifle. I knew the game was hard as I never made much progress when I owned this as a child, but I had no idea just how brutally hard the game actually was. Several levels result in destruct sequences where you must locate the exit before time runs out, but it's the surprise in store on deck 6 with the fake extra life that really takes the biscuit. The game becomes less fair and less enjoyable as the game goes on and the final ending sequence is a complete kick in the teeth. The music and sound effects are really well produced and the graphics are great. The graphics in subsequent Alien Breed titles would go on to be some of the best on the system. I don't know if it was just me being unlucky, but I had to try 3 different copies of the game before I could complete it as there were various glitches that just broke the game. Some corridors were impassable due to poor sprite collision and in one copy the 1 second timer that starts when you pick up the fake extra life on deck 6 ticks down far too quickly for you to reach the exit lift. When it works, the game is excellent, but it ends up a mixed bag because of the difficulty. Challenging I can accept, but sometimes it's just plain mean. Enjoy! #retrogaming

Alien Breed II: The Horror Continues Longplay (Amiga AGA) [50 FPS]

Follow me on Twitter 🤍 🤍 Get Great Retro Scene News 🤍 🤍 Developed and published by Team 17 in 1993 Definitely a sequel that felt like a genuine upgrade over it's predecessor, Alien Breed 2 is one of a select number of titles that made 1993 the 'last hurrah' for the Amiga. While I owned the OCS version for my A500, T17 also released an AGA version for the A1200 and compatible machines. Since it has better visuals, this is the version I opted to record. For those of you wondering why my ammunition magazine count never appears to decrease, you can carry more spare ammo magazines than the UI displays. The game is actually a lot more generous with both ammo and credits than the prequel, so this is certainly a positive aspect. The gameplay is solid, and Rico Holmes' artwork is excellent! #team17 #amiga #retrogaming

Alien Breed (1991) Classic Amiga 500 Longplay

Alien Breed, developed by Team17, released back in 1991 for the Commodore Amiga 500. I remember only playing a demo disk version, unfortunately I did not get round to buying it at time of release long time ago. Now after playing it fully, its an enjoyable game, old but still fun to play. Definately a retro classic!

Alien Breed: Impact Playthrough/Walkthrough part 1 [No commentary]

Alien Breed: Impact, released in 2010, is an updated version of Alien Breed: Evolution, the first game in Team 17's Alien Breed series to come out since 1996. It is a top-down shooter set onboard futuristic space craft. In each level, the main character, Conrad, is set a series of tasks, such as collecting key cards, restoring power, or escorting innocents, which he must complete before finding that level's exit in the form of an elevator. Standing in his way are several different types of aliens who will attack him, usually en masse. Conrad can run and shoot in all directions, and can collect a number of different weapons and items to aid him.

Alien Breed Trilogy - The Ultimate Battle Guide

The game was based heavily - and unofficially - on the Alien films, specificially Aliens, and also on the 8-bit-era games Laser Squad and Paradroid. Alien Breed consists of the player or players having to find the lift down to the next level, occasionally setting the self destruct sequence to blow up the level above them. The players collect or purchase a variety of weapons from the space station's computer terminals. In some versions of the game, these so-called Intex terminals provide additional features such as a clone of the classic computer game Pong. Credits found on the ground have to be saved for these weapons and other enhancements, each giving the players an edge over the gradually more and more powerful Alien forces. In advanced levels, players are occasionally trapped in enclosed spaces with huge "boss" aliens, reminiscent of the Alien Queen. ► YouTube: 🤍 ► Facebook: 🤍 ► Twitter: 🤍 ► Instagram: 🤍 ► Twitch: 🤍 ► Discord: 🤍 ► Reddit: 🤍 Produced by GINX Studios.

Alien Breed (1991) uncut main theme by Allister Brimble. Back when i was granted the right to upload videos longer than 15 minutes, i decided to upload this 17-minute "uncut" version to celebrate the occasion. Brimble offered free mp3 download of this version at the old website many years ago. While being the same composition, it has heavier stereo join effect (or something similar) along with some kind of reverb (room) effect. Alien Breed Longplay (Amiga) [50 FPS]

Developed and published by Team 17 in 1991. Having just completed a longplay of Alien Breed Special Edition 92, I thought that I'd try out the original version that was released a year earlier in 1991 to see how it compared. The game, as you might expect, is very similar. However, this version contains a mere 6 levels versus the 12 of the special edition, but has a disk that contains an animated introduction that's pretty cool. If you thought the special edition was a tough game, the original game is tougher still. This is due in large part to the level design, which feels a lot more enclosed with many narrow corridors. The enemy spawn mechanic goes into overdrive a lot of the time with vast swathes of enemies pouring through doors and from around corners making it difficult to kill them quickly enough. The number of power-ups, ammo and credits are greatly reduced when compared to the special edition. In fact, this version of the game feels pretty bare a lot of the time with endless corridors with only a few items to collect. The special edition really made the levels feel more interesting with risk versus reward coming into effect; do you risk using your keys to get the loot, or do you save them for the mission ahead? If you do manage to beat the game then you'll be treated to an ending sequence that was omitted from the special edition and paves the way for Alien Breed II. Overall, I think the special edition is the better version. Both are brutally tough, but the special edition has more moments where I felt that it was actually enjoyable to be playing; this version felt like I was being punished a lot of the time. Enjoy! #retrogaming

Alien Breed - Evil Twin

Third track from the Antidote album from Alien Breed Famous for being in the Acclaim videogame Bmx Xxx from 2002. "Keep it dirty" Lyrics: When you feel like you ’ve lost your mind I’ll be the pleasure when pain' s all you find We’ll throw all the words away And speak a language that talks when we play Cause we both move like there’s animals underneath our skin When I’m all about you And we both know the kind of sin that’ll hide beneath my grin When I smile without you I lost control But you don’t have to sell your soul I die when you’re near All surrounds just disappears When you feel like you’ ve lost your mind I’ll bring solution to all you design When the drugs don’t get you high I’ll be the sparkle that caught in your eye We both fuse like a oxygen and a candle flame I cannot burn without you Chemicals draw us in to each others evil twin I can't ignite without you I lost control But you don’t have to sell your soul I die when you’re near All surrounds just disappears I lost control But you don’t have to sell your soul I die when you’re near All surrounds just disappears

Alien Breed 2: Assault Review

If you like 3rd person shooters with a little Sci-Fi, then this is the game for you!! Alien Breed 2: Assault is of course the second installment of this game from Team 17. For this game to be an Xbox Arcade only title with no hard disc to buy in the store, this is one complete game. I think any shooter fan will agree. This is a little longer review than I usually do, but if you have followed me through out YouTube, then you know I am known for being thorough and indepth. When it comes to game play footage, I think you need enough of it to make a good decision on rather to buy it or not. Alien Breed (Amiga) speedrun 09:51

Single segment run of Alien Breed. No cheats or tools! Floppy drive emulation is set to 100% speed. This original game has only six levels. I'm happy with my routing and everything worked out really well in this run. I'm not going to be improving on this anytime soon. I also had one extra (safety) life and two extra keys at the end. Shouts to lemm for his longplay, that assisted me with routing this run. There are two annoying bugs. Doors sometimes suck several keys instead of one if approached from a wrong angle. This is why I sometimes hug walls to enter specific doors and collect few extra (backup) keys. Another thing, taking damage from killed enemies. This happens sometimes when walking too fast, but it's not consistent. Enemy spawns are affected by pacing throughout levels. There are choke points where aliens are spawning indefinitely out of the screen. These spawns can be manipulated by movement and generally by moving fast, but it's not always simple.

Alien Breed 3D, Amiga - Part 1 - Overlooked Oldies

Alien Breed 3D is an early Doom-style FPS, which I think was pushing the limits of the Amiga hardware. It runs pretty smooth on an emulated A4000 though. It's a pretty standard kill fest, but disappointly lacks any recognisable similarity to the 2D Alien Breed games. It seems like Alien Breed in name only. Nevertheless, it's quite fun for a while. The colour coded keys bullshit is just silly and pointless though. This is a request by pacbilly on my 128 subscriber special. 🤍 Played By: ScHlAuChi Unfortunately a lot went wrong with this video, theres some noticeable audio-desynch sometimes and if you wonder why i suddenly have 1 extralife more, full health and all weapons in Level6, its because the Alien Breed ADFs i used to record this video, crashed after level5, and i didnt want to rerecord the whole game again. Alien Breed 3D - boss 1

ADG Episode 204 - Alien Breed

There's surprisingly little breeding in this game... Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Alien Breed, an overhead 2D shooter originally created by Team 17 for Amiga computers in 1991, then ported to DOS and published through MicroLeague Inteactive Software in 1993. This is one of those rare games which has no standout features in the slightest and manages to be perfectly average in almost every regards. It doesn't do anything terribly wrong, but doesn't do anything exceptionally right either, thus it easily fell into obscurity. Additional Information and Corrections: * If you want to grab the game for yourself, here's where you can find it on GOG: 🤍 * There's a few other map features you should probably be on the watch for which I didn't elaborate on. There's forcefields which can only be walked through in one direction, otherwise they insta-kill you, there's refuge chutes which open and close which you don't want to be standing over when they open, otherwise they insta-kill you, and there's acid which doesn't insta-kill you on contact but comes pretty close.
