The matching controller was dirty but seemed to work just fine. The special edition console however, turned on but was stuck on checking the system software. That's usually caused by hard drive problems but it also could be something else. ►►PS4 Hard Drive used in this video (paid link): 🤍geni.us/tQaf ►Tools & Parts I Use (paid link): 🤍🤍amazon.com/shop/tronicsfix ►TronicsFix Game Console Repair Forum: 🤍🤍tronicsfixforum.com/ 🎵 Like the Music? About This Video:
I have that same ps4 and controller and mine has the same gross sticky stuff on the sticks can you tell me what you used to get it off?
Hey Steve I love your channel and have learned alot from you, but I have a question " what kind of flux do you personally use and when doing ic chips or video chips what temp do you set your hot air station to?
Own one still love the look yet have PS5
Why does he never use a vacuum, when cleaning parts. I mean I would understand if the parts were loose or broken, but heat sinks, a vacuum is awesome.
I have to disagree on Seagate hard drives being reliable. Every drive I've had go bad, was a Seagate. I don't buy them anymore.
I know this is an older video, but when you check eBay prices, you have to consider the eBay fee of 13% on sale price + shipping. It was great video and I love what you do mate.
cleaning electronics is oddly satisfying.
After years of doing repairs, I'm pretty much a WD HD fanboy... but anything is better than Toshiba :D
I wonder - why you replaced HDD with ... HDD? I've heard that it is really beneficial to replace HDD with SSD for PS4.
Perhaps a new 1TB solid state drive is an option making this faster. That is what I do.
I want a “perfect amount of thermal paste” tshirt
We bought our PS4 the year it came out. Never cleaned it or replaced anything and it still works fine. I think about replacing the thermal paste, but I don't want to risk destroying the PS4 when it is still working 100% fine the way it is now.
Would you recommend changing the thermal paste even if it doesn't make any problems or should I wait until it overheats once and give it a clean then?
This guy is trolling us with the 'prefect amount of thermal paste'? Or is he dumb and just like shoving on a bunch for no reason? I bet someone will copy him whiling doing a desktop CPU and end up applying the same and it get into the socket/pin area because they think this guy is right....
thats what thumbsticks do after months of not being used after months of being used and being stored in the right conditions. something from your body interacts with it and it starts degrading the rubber. cleaning them with alcohol and qtip is all it needs.
Do u think this special edition ps 4 its limited edition in Mine views I own the same version n love it alot is if u think or know if its rare console version
This is the only repair guy I ever seen that doesn't keep the screws on a magnetic mat and separate. Epic repairs tho.
The packaging is A+ though.
Hey.. so I took my ps4 apart to clean it today. Don't think I didn't anything wrong but now after the ps logo I get a black screen and a blinking blue light. Took it apart again to see if anything was wrong and I couldn't find any issue. Tried it again and it does the same thing. Have u experienced this before? Any suggestions?
Imagine buying a whole new PS4 because of a simple hard drive issue that you could fix yourself lol🤦🏾♂️ this guy is a life saver
