►[GIVEAWAY] Win A Brand New Gun - Ends Soon: 🤍bit.ly/3sVyiHY Do you know what to do if someone breaks into your house? In this informative video, U.S. Concealed Carry Association Director of Content Kevin Michalowski sits down with criminal defense attorney Tom Grieve to discuss the do’s and do-not’s when dealing with a home invasion. These thoughtful answers will help you round out your home-defense plan and potentially avoid problems arising after an encounter with a burglar. 00:00 Three topics proposed by a recent YouTube comment: Never leave your safe room; Never let a burglar know where you are; and Never talk to the police without first consulting your attorney. 01:01 Kevin is against proclaiming absolutes. “Every home-defense situation is different.” 01:53 Where does a “safe room” fall into your home-defense plans? 03:34 Think about your hierarchy of values when dealing with a burglary or home invasion. 05:19 Should you let a home invader know you’re there? 06:14 If you’re in a safe spot, don’t start clearing rooms looking for an intruder in a darkened house. Stay put and call the police. 06:50 Some people misconceptualize what “winning” entails in a home-defense scenario. 07:22 Using a firearm should be your last resort to protect human life. 08:36 For Tom, “winning” a self-defense incident means driving an attacker away with the least force and harm possible. 09:54 Most home invaders flee when faced with an armed, prepared homeowner. 11:08 Should you talk to your attorney before giving any kind of statement to the police following a home invasion? 11:39 Firing your weapon in self-defense changes the entire ball game. 14:12 You may want to provide a two-part statement to police: An initial description of the suspects followed by a more in-depth statement a few days later after consulting an attorney. #uscca #homedefense #selfdefense - [URGENT] Attention Gun Owners: - Want the same peace of mind enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of responsibly armed Americans like you? I'm going to the choke point that protects the most of my house that I can. If I hear them in the basement, I'm watching the basement door. If I hear them in the kitchen, I'm looking down the hallway that leads to the bedrooms.

My issue is every bedroom in my house is occupied and all are connected by the kitchen. The only way to protect my family if someone breaks down the front door is to stop them from entering the kitchen.

I've composed a list of things you would never say to a cop, which is getting longer. That list applies to a "suspect" as well. Only Jackie Chan can get away with that.

I can't imagine the first two rules applying to a normal person living in a 2500 square foot or smaller house, or even smaller apartment. Like, it's not some grand building with different wings and sectors. You're basically in an immediate situation that requires immediate action and counter ambush.

One thing that was completely overlooked in this video is sharing surveillance data to the police if you are going to make the choice to talk. If you are on tape shouting at the home Invader to leave and that you have called the police, that is definitely a point in your favor. Have local surveillance not cloud in your common living area such as the kitchen or living room. Maybe your hallway. None of your personal spaces. It's a double-edged sword for sure but there won't be any question of what happened or providing an accurate description of the intruder. A good security system is worth its weight in gold.

You don't have to give the police any information. This guy is giving bad advice by advising talking to police that you've invited into your home. Don't even let him inside. Do the statement on the porch. Watch a better video that gives better legal advice. Most of the time, not a big issue. Some of the time you have an evil police officer that is seeing your distress as an opportunity to collect evidence and get an arrest. You don't know if you're talking to a psychopath or not in a uniform.

I was told by the cops here in the deep south here is what they said. 1. Don't shoot them outside. 2. Don't shoot them in the back. That is pretty much it and that is how that works in these parts.

My safe room is my ENTIRE HOME. So, if you break into my safe room with intent to steal or do harm, yer gettin’ lead salad. I don’t care what a lawyer says. They’re part of the problem and have helped cultivate this “run and let the criminals do whatever they want” culture. Nope. Not in my safe room.

This video doesn't really help me in Alabama lol. We have stand your ground laws. The second a criminal steps into your home, he immediately gave up his rights to life.

Whom ever breaks into a house has already accepted the fact someone could be home and are already putting themselves at great risk. That said, my house is my safe place and you will meet my defense over it. Depending how fast you can run, you might live.

If you are ever arrested for anything remember these 4 things:
1. Police have to tell you why you are arrested.
2. They have to tell you that you have the right to remain silent. That includes written statements. Don't talk. Don't write anything down.
3. They have to tell you that anything you say can and will be used against you in court.
4. You have the right to legal counsel. If you don't have a lawyer one will be provided for you (in Canada at least).

I believe if someone breaks into my Home, my Sanctuary, I feel I have a right to shoot him to protect my family, but also my possessions that I've worked my entire life for. When a stranger is in my home he has no right to take anything or hurt anyone and if he does, in MY home anyway, he WILL be choosing his likely death. It is not ME making that decision, HE made that decision when He entered my home uninvited and illegally. His age is irrelevant, especially if it's dark and I can't see him or determine his age. I have no idea if he has a weapon, a knife, or anything else that he can possibly use as a weapon. His 'CHOICE' to enter a strange home will end up being a bad choice that He made himself and will pay the price for. I have no desire to shoot or kill ANYONE but will not hesitate if it is felt necessary.

What state are you in ? In Fl if they are inside without invite or reason and the door was closed they are presumed to be a deadly threat. The decision to intervene with deadly force is not garnered by any other justification. I agree it may be a situation where you hide and they take and leave and 911 is called, but in Fl you can defend the castle with deadly force if they are not lawfully inside the home , vehicle or business. I wont let anyone in my castle, illegally, know my presence or warn them if I feel they need to be stopped by deadly force for my life safety. I would give them no chance to kill me first in an attempt to say "arrest them." A good example of that fatal hesitation was this last Summer in Ala where a good citizen was killed while trying to help a woman with a car break down in the Talladega Nat Forest. After attempts to help her failed, she pulled a gun on him , he had a CW, and got the jump on her; but gave orders for her to get on the ground instead of firing (like in the movies) . He shot her 3 times and she shot him once. He died , and she survived , bullets aren't fair. Food for thought if someone's in your house illegally.

Chasing them away, simply allows them to attempt the same crime some other time, or, somewhere else. Deal with it, by being prepared for such emergencies. Don't be naive; bad stuff happens. Bad guys don't care about you. They are there to do something illegal, and harmful . Is that ok with you?

You should have a bag of lime a shovel and a quiet place to bury them.

fire a warning shot , that will almost guarantee that the robber will not stick around to wait for the next shot nor would he want to engage in a gun battle . Start with a verbal response and include you are armed with a gun and you will use it , if you dont hear the robber leave then fire a warning shot ,
